Itmyshow fully understand what your trying to make your point about but you tell me, have a guess how many other players at local level around the country have been drafted/ played reserves football in the VFL/AFL.
I was just stating that the young fella should have stuck at it a little longer or moved on to another AFL club if there was limited opportunity at Geelong in the mid 90's (which there was) and maybe he could of had a good career elsewhere.
If he had of stuck at it he could of had an awesome career in the VFA with the likes of Sandy/Port/Werribee etc.

FM2, did not attack him in my first post at all only asked the question who the bloke was in the No1 jumper for Sunbury on the weekend.
It was then Mongrel who started to pump up his own tyres straight away.
I was at the game on the weekend by default, had earlier decided to watch a young fella from the Essendon League that there was huge rapts on but he was called up to play TAC Cup at Burbank. So decided to go watch a local derby.

Well done to that sunbury bloke who whacked Chewy in the reserves. Pretty embarrasing effort that. Have a rest for the next 12 weeks.

not sure but heard he took automatic 2. however does not sound correct to me, very lucky if it is. but by the look of his hand he won't play again this year

so JB what other names do you post under. a bloke like yourself so hevily commited his life to football does not join bigfooty just to attack a small fat bloke in the RDFL.

I have got a couple of other alias' on BigFooty your right but none on the RDFL thread.
If you were in my position for what I do for football you would relise that looking at footy chat sites certainly helps you find out more about certain players in different leagues, I can't be Eddie every where when it comes to looking at certain young players in different leagues.

I appreciate your history Mongrel but having an over inflated ego about your playing ability is something you would not want to have at the top of your resume, point is that with your ability as a footballer over the years you can't compare yourself to other great players of the past that played in the Riddle League in it's hey day.

Not pumping up my own tyres here but 12years of senior football in the SANFL during it's hey day of the 70's and 80's and then an invlovement with a VFA club for the last 18years would certainly give me a qualified opinion.

Must be really good for football if all you can give us is played in SANFL and member of a VFA club, and have such an important part in footy in general you troll local threads in a footy internet chat site. Bag blokes for having ego's then pump up your own tyres to a group of people who I am not so sure really give a rats ....... about your thoughts. We all have different roles in footy some can play some can't some coach some don't some get on committes most don't, thats the greatest part of this game everyone has a role. The ugly part of footy is some don't know there role I think it's time you learnt your's.

Hey Jack ease up pal. Dean single handedly brought Sunbury back into the game in the 3rd and 4th quater. His skills were great and decison making awesome and all this with a hand injury sustained during the game. 3 qtr time was not a brawl as such but I did see the umpires with their books in hands. Not sure who reported. Crowd did get involved. No McMahon Dairy award for Diggers this week

Dan Yarwood was unlucky to be sent off and was used as a scape goat for the game getting out of control due to some terrible umpiring decisions.

Blueboy you have said some stupid things on this forum but that last comment is completly ridiculous. Yarwood was sent off for striking. But lucky for him the umpire only saw one of hits he dished out. You have to stop commenting on diggers rest games and the club because you pathetically biased opinion against the club is really getting old.
What a huge coinceidnce it is that every club you have left seems to have done wrong against you. Maybe you have to take a good hard look at yourself and realise that YOU are the problem.

And in reference to the mcmahon award, both clubs were responsible for what happend and it what you didn't see from the other side of the ground sitting in your car was passionate players and supporters from both proud clubs sticking up for each other. Nothing major happend just a fair bit of mouthing off. Maybe if you showed just a tiny hint of what the people from Diggers F.C and Sunbury F.C showed you might actually understand this game a bit better and learn to respect a football club instead of them all seemingly doing you wrong.

halffullonfence, your last post doesn't make any sense but I would assume by your alias and the time of day you probably are.If you didn't really care about my opinion then why reply? I never once knocked anyone involved in local footy, all I did was state some facts regarding one player and as usual small minds take it out of context. If you understand English I stated that Mongrel should have and could have played at a higher level for longer instead of dropping back so quickly into local footy, and tried to remind him that a man of natural ability like he had doesn't need to gloat about how good his career in local football has been, my statement was he could have been just as good in a stronger competition.
Now have a look who's pumping up Mongrels tyres!:)

Best thing for you to do Bev would be to stay out of something that you have no involvment in. :D
Diggers Rest is the only club I have left on bad terms. Only have gripes with 3 w@nkers. Glen, Jeremy and Woosha. 1 Gone, 1 on the way out and the fat b@stard is only a year or so off a heart attack so the club will be better off soon.

So how many of your relevant superb years in the SANFL did you play with after a break in your spine???

Mongrel had every right to drop back to local level football after an injury that would have ended any other normal footballer's career.. You are just taking cheap shots at a guy who wants to enjoy his football in the competition that he started in...
He only mentioned his football in this league in response to your unprovoked cheap shot..

Burger, I dont really want to weigh into this debate, as I mostly agree with you, in general it was 2 sides supporters verbally in a contest.

But the one guy who involved himself by grabbing a player at that 3 quarter time incident should be banned. He has no right involving himself in an incident that should be left to the players on the field to deal with... And he did indeed involve himself by grabbing a player. Unacceptable.

Great post ! Felt compelled to have a crack at this provocative "Blow Hard" myself but you have said it all here pal. :thumbsu:

He broke his back when he was 15 or 16. Get your facts right before gobbing off about something you really don't sound qualified for.
I would say that he was at Geelong F.C. well after that? If your not sure about your facts here Itsmyshow then here's some of his roll call I've found out today.
Geelong F.C.
Richmond chased him to Darwin
played in the NTFL (I think he won a medal)
Could have returned to SANFL ( I think he may have tried out preseason)?
Played South Gippsland ( ROC )
Played RDFL ( various league medals )
and by the way if you read my post I wasn't taking any cheap shot about his ability, thats what obviously clouds our judgements footy's an emotional game.:)

Ah... So my little friend.. He played most of his top level football AFTER breaking his back... Well, I would suggest that he has done a little more than attempted to be a big fish in a little pond wouldn't you say????

Hmm, seems to me that everyone bar yourself saw your cheap shot...
