Start a thread if you want, we may not be able to answer every question but i'm sure the few of us on here would have a go. As long as it goes in the right way, it can only benefit umpire/player relations.

Watch who you're pottin. Maybe Riddells just more professional in their approach. Roona and the boys do a marvellous job...

now now big fella,no need 2 get upset.your the last person anyone wants to see upset.especially after your last murder trial.:D
my turn to have a say on the tribunal case:

firstly it was a magnificent effort from the riddell footy club to put such a strong case forward for heath wadden.in a case where all of us uninformed people predicted a lengthy spell for the charged player, only to find a result that in fact has most people very very confused.the umpires have done everything by the book, the riddell footy club have done all the right things to defend their player, but once again the tribunal have given another example of their incompetance.and their inconsistency.
im not suggesting that the charge warranted a lengthier term, but judging by the exact same case a fortnight earlier the tribunal have a lot of explaining 2 do.i have no sour grapes towards heath wadden, but i do feel for grub and i do feel for the next person who says the same thing.
because of the lack of consistency from the tribunal no one knows what the penalty will be.get your act together or resign(panel members)

Couldnt have put it any better mongrel. :thumbsu:

The only thing people should hold their grudge about is the tribunal and the system it has in place, if at all it does have one:mad:

Can anyone tell me how tribunal members are picked/elected/hired. I think there would be a few very interested people to replace them. Also is it the rdfl who sets the guidlines or football vic that they follow

Your tribunal just follows the trend of your league! Disgraceful! I went to my first RDFL game for many years on the weekend and i was horrified by the standard, the support and the officiating. It was rank. Dissapointing for what was once a powerhouse league, now a preverbial waste of space...

From Frankston. Says it all, how did you afford the train fair?

interested to know what game you went to ww

Woodend Vs Riddell.

Look i was probably a bit harsh, especially with weather etc. But I was extremely dissapointed with what was supposed to be a huge game with the top of the table sides playing.

I didn't get a train ticket, I hitch-hiked:eek:

wet football with teams playing players behind the ball will never be pretty, I'm sure they would not do that in the bendigo league:eek: I sure if I turned up to one game anywhere luck would have it that it would not be much of a spectical. Don't dish a whole league over one game, make an effort to get back and see another one. Also to this point no need to see two top sides, go see Diggers v Romsey and tell me then how poor shape our league is in...

Wasnt the ground a mud heap? I doubt many games would be great to watch in those conditions.

Saved your pennys for a bourbon or 2! Smart!;)

If you don't like it don't go. No different for us, considering how long it is since you're last attendance. But don't get on here and slag off like that, dissing the whole league based on seeing 1 game in terrible conditions.

Are these positions reviewed reguarely/at all?
Are they a paid position?
there is a system in place where our esteemed tribunal members reap the benefits of the leagues highly successfull lamington drive !
last year they were able to raise so much money that jenson and co where paid a kings randsom for each apperance at the tribunal and even had enough left over to take a end of season trip to darraweit guim!!!:D

Ya leagues terrible. I like Bourbon yes :D

Fellas, dont even bother to respond to quotes such as this one from an outsider trying to stir shit.

Interestingly, i spent a half at Riddell on Sat and then the last quarter at Gisborne watching them v Castlemaine. Both matches played in ordinary conditions and thus the standard of both games was scrappy at best.
A few things that stood out to me though, somewhat surprisingly, was:
1. The amount of cars parked around the oval and spectators out of their cars (under cover of course) was considerably greater at Riddell.
2. The size of the Riddell & Woodend 3/4 time huddles were significantly greater than Castlemaines & probably Gisbornes too.
3. The standard of football was to an unbiased observer very similar. Both games were scrappy and mongrel punts were the order of the day in both matches. All four teams went hard at the ball but skill wise there was very little difference.

All in all some positive signs for the RDFL i suggest. I watch Gisborne quite regularly and it amazes me how much more support they receive than any of the other clubs, particularly Bendigo based clubs. It just goes to show that we love our footy in the Macedon Ranges and go along rain, hail or shine to support our team regardless of the leagues overall standing.

Great Analytical Impartial post, imo you can come again.
Thank You.

If they are nothing has ever changed, & I can go back further than I care to admitt.

He needs the job more than the job needs him !
Gives his self esteem the well needed boost he so desperately craves & he has surrounded himself with a hand picked flock of like minded Despots that cannot wait to "Make their next Example" of !

& to my Knowledge it is an Honorary position.
How would it be if the clubs had to pay for that incompetence ?

On the whole tribunal matter:

How about you don't do anything stupid that would warrant a report. Problem solved.

Today what is stupid & gets you reported is the word cheat in reference to an umpire, (never used to be) tomorrow it could be Galah or the phrase " Your Joking", or who knows what ?

But what is certain is that when you go before our Tribunal its a Lottery & parity & consistancy in penalties far to often fall by the wayside.
And as long as we have mind sets like yours nothing will change !
