Thanks for the read Doon, I've been a long-time supporter of BigFooty. While there can be idiots who get on and shoot their mouths off from behind their keyboards at home, it can also be a handy source for information. When I speak to sports journos about BF they always tell me they read it. Some post, some don't, but all of us agree that it would be silly of us journo's not to at least glance at the forums from time to time. Of course, any good journo would follow up the facts, rather than go publishing straight from the source, but it has certainly helped many of my articles in the last couple of years.

I understand the benefits of it mate to all journo's, its more the relevance of the article I can't get me head around. What next - a daily column of Big Footy's best posts from the day prior . . . . . don't even think about it Matt that's my idea :D

It did surprise me, and to be honest I have thought about it before, I have actually quoted people from BigFooty before in the paper, but I think SheppNews went overboard. Some things said on BigFooty are best to be left on the world wide web.

Not too sure of the interest here guys, but Harry has a received whisper of a late exclusion for Riddell this weeke-end......

Mick Allen has apparently cut his hand badly with a grinder at work today may, I repeat may, just miss the big dance. I'm not sure how bad it is but it could be a huge bonus for the boys of Woodend town. One less Allen to worry about;)

Def not. I have standards. I see the Shepp News is advertising for a journo ...

Riddell Players Review -

B. Allen - Absolute athlete, will jump all over any forward and bring the ball to ground for certain rebound.

J. Allen - Captain Courageous, ever reliable mark and kick. The architect of Riddell's rebounding strength.

M. Allen - Very tough key forward, strong mark and extremely accurate kick. Always elusive on the ground as well.

N. Allen - Underrated ball magnet, has ability to find space and continually sends ball forward.

N. Ash - Another solid defender who is always sending the ball to Riddell's advantage, impassable!

A. Blade - Creative and elusive link player who always gets plenty of it and will bob up with a couple of goals.

J. Belleville - Riddell's engine room. Tagged every week and still gets 30+ possessions. Will win Grand Final Medal !

D. Besanko - Versatility Plus. When he gets the ball, and he will, he will hurt you Big Time. Last years Grand Final Medallist.

M. Burnett - Riddell's "Rock in the Ruck". Hard to move and brings the ball to ground to their onballers advantage.

L.Coles - Nuggety and classy midfielder. A real impact player. Don't get in his way !

J. Crotty - Opportunistic forward who will run backmen ragged. Great kick for goal.

L. Harrison - Tough as nails. Can play anywhere. Nice mark and likes to kick goals.

R. Leitch - Strong backman. Only knows 1 way through the lines. Look out when he is on the move !

T. McDonald - Fearless midfielder with very strong body. Pack breaker who collects many possessions.

M. McDougall - Quality backman with exceptionally creative ball skills. Can tag, just ask Bonnici !

P. Murden - Gutsy player. Good mark who never wastes a kick. Will bounce back big time after being KO'd in last final.

M. Peatling - Very reliable footballer who always gives 100%. Consistantly racks up the stats.

J. Petran - Spactacular forward. He is the reason why we go to the Footy !

G. Robertson - Tireless ruckman who always gives his all for the team and will make presence felt around ground.

M. Shaunessey - Gifted young gun who has been a revelation this season. He "WILL" get plenty of it !

H. Wadden - When on song a match winner. His unselfish team play has been a feature this season.

Coach. D. Rowsell - Uncomplicated communicator & tactician that is universally liked and respected by his playing group.

Phew, have just spoken to the main man at the Bombers who assures me that your information is incorrect. And Micky has been told to stay off the grinder for the rest of the week, just in case! All bets are back on and I have readjusted the market. Some money coming in for both sides! All at centralsport.org

do you have a review on j climas i heard he played a few games for bendigo reserves pretty hard at it from memory certainly one player the hawks need to keep an eye on i.m.o.

Well done OMNI, any Woodend blokes like to do the same for the Hawks?

Also, are you saying the 22nd spot will be between David Earle (bog in the seconds on Saturday) and young James Climas?

Earle played for Peatling in the second semi, and Peatling is a shoe-in for selection, so who misses out?

Some great matchups, who knows how it will pan out. The bottom one will be the most interesting IMO. Ciunik has been the difference in the last two weeks and Climas will no doubt hassle him all game. Not sure if Dale likes the rough stuff either. If the Hawks are to win, he has to play well

Thanks Matt, & hope not but who knows !
If there was to be another change the ressies have got a number of quallity players that can & have stepped up this season, Earl, Marriner, Palmer, Cox, Greasley, or Grant. All more than worthy of the promotion to the big 1 pal !

This match up I think will definitely occure. A must see that will be well & truelly worth the entrance fee alone !

Kar Weng Ng v Besanko

This could be a losing matchup from a Woodend-Hesket perspective. I think the Hawks need to free Ninger up across half back and let him play an attacking role. If they were to go one on one, it would be a great battle, but Woodend desperately needs half-back drive.

Sorry to do this again Pickles but I have received the same mail from another source, so perhaps the Riddell heirachy just playing things down? I'm not even trying to stir the pot here, it has been a ligitimate claim. Personally, I don't care, I don't have any $$ on the game and I can't wait to see who will win the GF, either way I don't care. SHould be a good game, I just hope it doesn't blow out like the 05 GF, scores were level half way through the 3rd quarter and Riddell kicked the next 8 goals.
