Congratlations to all 6 winning teams on sunday. A good day out at lancefield with the hawks taking the reserves flag a high for those of us supporters.
And now the talk about next year already has started? it would be good to get the chat going early it always makes for intresting reading over summer when weve got no footy to watch. The young blokes can have their pre seasons!
A few questions to think about,
Will riddell be able to keep all of there stars?
Whats will be coaching chages? will rowswell go again? will giddings go again?
Who are the recruits for next year, im sure some clubs would already be working on there teams.
And If riddell do keep there team together will it be 2008 all over again next time?
Lnacefield, Macedon, Wallan and Centrals all stuck in the middle at the moment can any of them challenge the top 4?
And what about Rockbank romsey and kilmore who all have a heap of work to but the Rams look like their are improving and the other two seem to be going the other way.
Any retirements that we now of already?
Will any of the good youngsters push on to high comps like the Vfl?

yes this is true. they had organised for the same people as last year to film. was told by a league offical on sunday night that the company that was meant to film rang in that morning and pulled out for an unknown reason to me.

If Mark Power gets a coaching role in 09 Riddell will lose a few of there good players. Robbo and Petran for starters. It would be a good test for them to play at a higher level.
Power won't be coaching Riddell and I don't think Rowsell will be either.

Just letting you know that Red Onion notified the league that they could not film on the Wednesday before Grand Final. This allowed the league time to source another company to film the Grand Finals. It was not Red Onion that pulled out on Saturday morning but another company that they used last year. Mark was alwasy going to finish is career at Riddell. Never said he wouldn't be at Riddell this year.

I heard Wadden was at the game on sunday what is happening there!thought he was banned from attending RDFL games.There were more police more sercurity and still got in.As for us a few supporters let us down by telling the league that they came from woodend after bringng in there own alcohol in.Would love to watch a DVD of the games on sunday, three great games our unders won the resi's was close and for three quarters diggers took it up to riddell were can i get those DVD's

Can anyone confirm that a player from riddell hit a player from woodend and spat in anothers face rather than shake there hands after they lost,if this has happened you would think the league will put its foot down and ban him for 12 months.What a disgrace its one person who makes it worse for there club riddell shouldn't be held accountable for this person they should oust him now before it gets out control like it did last week

Just read the report in the Macedon Ranges Leader and just want to pass on my well wishes to Riddell coach Darrin Rowsell.
I don't think you have actually been named as coach of the year in the RDFL in your current stint with Riddell (maybe once), but it certainly should have been a couple of times.
Perhaps not the best tactical coach in the competition, I believe you were the best leader for keeping the game simple, and allowing your players to follow clear directions. I think some coaches try to be like Kevin Sheedy and over-complicate the game.
Your recruiting has been second to none, and every time you have spoken in the media it has been humble and very gracious. Well done on a fantastic career and good luck to the Bombers who will find it hard to replace someone of your calibre.
I think a lot of people just take Scoot for granted, and sometimes forget just how good a player he was (even though he was dominating before I was born).

So this has happened what a dogs act you would want to hope that riddell cut him the same as sunbury lions and cut him loose
Donegal? are you a macedon fella? how do you think they would go next year i saw them have a pretty young team and add to that an under 18 flag will they keep all the boys if so they could be a pretty handy side.
Rowsell not going again? is he going to another club/league or just moving on from coaching.
be interested to read any thoughts on Wallan. I think they could be a power next year after one finals apperance they could recruit from past players and the nothern region and could be a force.

Cannot comment Riddell or Wallan but robbie going into retirement means we try harder to keep Tim's younger bro Matt and keep the likes McGregor,Conversano,Reeves and his uncle Kev who coached the two's and keeping the likes of Cory Phillips who all the boys love getting around celebrating out at there place. It was another stepping stone towards another finals tilt next year . And can we get someone to get that spew smell out of the rooms

Just saw on Heathcote board that Broadford voted last night to return to the RDFL next year. Can anyone confirm this?
