I have heard are few are finishing up ( up to 6 retirees ) and possibly some of the young boys trying to have a crack at a higher standard, but havent heard money troubles. From what i understand they dont pay half as much as people suspect them to! James and co could have got alot higher coin last year in any other league, but chose not to from what i was told by people close to the club. i think they have invested quite well in the last few years. Things go in cycles and maybe the cycle is changing.

The Lancefield Football/Netball Club wishes to announce that Chris Collins will be stepping down as senior coach for season 2009. Chris has said he wants to concentrate on his football next year, and will remain in integral part of the Tigers 2009 tilt at a premiership. The committee at the Lancefield Football/Netball club would like to acknowledge the fantastic job that Chris has done as a young coach who has been intsrumental in making the club competetive on field, as well as a close knit group off the field.

The Lancefield Football/Netball Club is a close knit family club affiliated in the Riddell District Football League. Having just missed out on finals in 2008 we are looking to take the next step in 2009, and are well set up both on and off the field to do so.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for season 2009 in the following positions:

* Senior Coach
* Reserves Coach
* Under 18's Coach

Anybody with interest PM me for more details, or email the club at info@lancefieldfc.org.au

Collo was a fantastic coach considering he was just 20 years old when appointed by the Tigers. I've got no doubt though that his game has hampered slightly by the burden of leading such a young group of players. However, he stood up and did the job that no one really wanted, and has set the club up in the right direction. Hopefully this means that he'll be available all summer for LCC.

Rick Hartley - Gisborne's Assistant coach for the last few years is your man for the senior gig i reckon !

heard on the grape vine that mark and leigh mcinerney are looking to play else where in 09, and possibly taking Bobby with them and dum dum is geting home sick maybe heading home

I think the Tigers at looking going forward next year bearsboy, so Hartley has to be ruled out.
Gee your a w***er Nicholls !
With Rick coaching under McGuane and Barham in the last few (very succesful) years and having seen his passion and commitment first hand i dont think there would be many better suited to the Lancefield job (or any other RDFL gig) than the man with the golden mullet.

Could you please explain why he should be ruled out ?

Because he had no idea when he was at Lancefield, has done nothing with Gisborne's U18s, wears Capper-esque tight shorts and has a gay mullet.

The players at Tigerland thought he was a laughing stock then, why should it change now?

I no him very well so we will just wait an see, just heard the 3 of them are heading to have a chat with McGuane.. the roos may struggle next year but i did hear the have quite a bit of $$$ to through around:thumbsu:

yeah and as i said he is looking else where but will not play there
and what is your reasoning to why he won't play there???he has family up there better reason than ever for him not to leave...and as for him chatting to McGuane well he did that a few months ago and doesn't know anything bout these "chats"

Interesting topic.. Hope one of you is actually Bobby....
nope not me sorry IMS..bobby actually does hard work for a living doesnt get to sit in front of a computer for a living like us...well him winning a B&F might wake the club up also...those few extra $$$ that the club "has to throw around" could keep him there???but as I said b4 all he needs now is a premiership...and he will play were ever he thinks he will wim 1

Yes boss... Maybe you should just let the club deal with its own player management... :thumbsu:

As for the money to "throw" around.. Not sure where those sources come from, but not entirely true.. Apparently the club has money to throw around every year these days, we have been very lucky to have a committed playing list to each other and the club, it hasn't had to be about the $$$ I hope things stay that way too...

I hope you are both wrong about Bobby... I love that kid, will be shattered if he left, and I would be down an outstanding assistant coach.... :thumbsu:

im not!! you better start geting these boys to sign befor they go else where:mad:

I think you both need to have a serious listen to yourselves.
If either of you are correct, i don't think this is an appropriate place to discuss crap like this.

what so saying that a player want to win a premiership is not aloud to be talked about..and bobby would want the money to be thrown at other players from other clubs, not at him...and I clearly know that the club does not "have money to throw around"..down under stated that..if anyone knew anything about bobby, which clearly none of you do he didnt come to the roos for money...he came casue a mate asked him to
