Is it true Melton Centrals have been tracking their players fitness over the pre-season with the latest in GPS monitors similar to what AFL clubs use on match day?
I also heard through a very reliable source that Melton are planning to hold a community camp in Darwin as well as travelling to Papua New Guniea to do the Kokoda Track?
It sounds like The Blues are a club on the up

Not the case at all dpagan, don't think we have lost any players from both sides! The players we have gained are going to be more than handy and have all fitted in well so we're looking in much better shape than this time last year...

Are you serious? Even though we all knew he left but one of the league's biggest names 2nd on that list. Good luck to ROO, no doubt will be a healthy addition to Euroa.

Recruiting drive over

KILMORE’S recruiting drive for footballers is now complete, with new coach Campbell Speers happy with his signings for the 2008 season.
The focus is now on the upcoming season, and making sure the Blues field a competitive Under 18s team, their first for several years.
The final list of recruits is as follows:
Ken Ingram (Westmeadows).
Mo Kaakour (West Coburg).
Alan Carroll (Craigieburn).
Shane Horwood (Greensborough).
Ben Pronk (Wodonga Bulldogs).
Steven Sapiano (Craigieburn).
Chris Temperley (Macedon).
Daniel Kenyon (Craigieburn).
While the recruits are a bonus for the Blues, Speers said that the key to success this season is to get much more out of the players who were at the club last year.
“Our guys have so much more improvement in them. We were one of the youngest sides last year and I’m expecting the young blokes to put pressure on some of the experienced guys for a spot in the seniors,” he said.
Goalkicking star Dave Cornish and key defender Linton Kemp will remain with Kilmore, despite pressure from Wallan for them to return to the Magpies.
Last year’s skipper Matt Robertson has signalled his intentions to remain with the Blues, but has yet to come to terms with the club committee. A decision is expected to be made after tonight’s training session.
Speers told The Free Press on Monday that he was unlikely to secure the services of former Bowen Medal winner and club champion Robbie Wittmer, despite the ruckman attending most pre-season sessions.
“Robbie hasn’t returned my calls, so I have to assume he isn’t playing with us this year,” Speers said. “Football is a team game.”
DISTRICT NEWS
In football news around the district, Broadford has officially lost the services of Chris Dunne, who has signed with Bonnie Doon, a club that competes in arguably the worst football competition in Victoria.
Strangely, despite rumours circulating about his depature in November, Dunne did not officially inform the Roos until last week.
Coach Chris Nolan said he was confident he had enough players to work with from last year to continually improve. The leader said it was up to the town’s younger players to step up this season if they want to play finals.
At Lancefield, the Tigers welcome back Scott Clark, Ben Talbot and Adam Boswell to the fore, and it is expected that one or two big signings will be announced before the end of the month.
Typically, Lancefield is taking a silent approach into the season, hoping to catch their rivals off guard.
The Tigers will again be led by 21-year-old playing coach Chris Collins.
Down the road, it is believed that Romsey has signed former Broadford star Adrian Baker.
A strong-marking goalkicker, Baker intended to play for Broadford last year, but was not allowed to after the Heathcote District Football League refused his registration.
Instead he donned the boots for West Preston Lakeside in the Northern Football League.
The Redbacks may have gained a power forward, but coaches Mark Dipietro and Darren Lingard have lost another in RDFL gun Brydan Morgan, who has signed at Heathcote.
Morgan will join former Romsey players Alistair Meldrum (coach), Luke and Daniel Carroll at the Saints, who are shaping up as the pre-season favourites for the HDFL premiership.
At Wallan, new coach Mark Pedersen has yet to sign any big names, but said on the weekend that he was confident of bringing in a handful of senior players before the season begins.
Hayden Langborne has signalled his intentions to return to the Pies, while sources at Greenhill Reserve say that Wallan has had excellent numbers on the training track, with a good bunch of youngsters.
The first round of the RDFL and HDFL seasons begin on Saturday, April 12.

Firstly, I said arguably, as people will argue which league is worst. But those at the VCFL have admitted that it is a very weak competition. And the line was made to point out that he hasn't gone to a better competition, considering he is one of Broadford's best players. I'm not writing the article for readers in the Benalla and District Football League region, I'm writing for the region my readers go to. And they don't want a watered down article.

If thats the way you do it then write Ruane from Diggers has gone from a weak Riddell league to argueably the best footy in country Australia the Goulburn Valley League for Euroa. You wont write that but dont throw flippant lines as you dont know what you are talking about. I ve seen BDFL and yes its not great footy but you want to downgrade something you know nothing of. I have seen Orbost play in snow and Bambill play on a ground which was a patch of dirt, both very small leagues. Different types of skills to be acclimatised too.
If you were a journo the calabre of Paul Daffy( if you dont know who he is google him) I would give you the benefit of the doubt but your not.
Dont be a sheep and actually investigate yourself.
