Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

While I got you there George, I wonder mate could you give me who you thought was Macedons best player Yesterday please ?
Am having a bit of a disagreement about it with a certain outspoken CAT who shall remain nameless !

Not knowing many of your players I'm going to have to agree with what was said in the rooms after the game. Dettmann was clearly one of the best but I also thought Christiansen was outstanding. Who did you think Omni? And what did the outspoken cat think?

Just read back over your post George & words like these will get me Killed champ !

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Is today National POT the Journo Day? Shit Matt either everyone has PMS today or really need to get some underlying problems with you off their chests.

Don't stress too much mate, we all know I like to rock the boat from time to time, and its much easier to pot shot me because I write under my name and happily show my face in public. :p

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

This exact issue was raised at training on wednesday night, if any player who is not in the marking contest attempts to hold up another player after the mark by grabbing his jumper a 50m penalty will be awarded. Umpires will be a tad more lenient when the player was in the marking contest and grabs the jumper.

Hey just a question my good friend....... If umpires are being instructed during the week on how to umpire & what to look out for, wouldn't that tend to pre-empt how they are going to adjudicate any given decision on a Saturday thus taking away their ability to use their Discretion ?

good question mate, but I don't think so, this was one of a number of points of discussion at training on wednesday night, there was no instruction to crack down on it or anything. :thumbsu:

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Little bit of football, however relates to the out of touch Hume City Council that some of us are asscoiated with.....

Anzac Day Friday, the Sunbury RSL and Vetrans league hold the service at 10am outside the front of memorial hall every year in rememberance, since the shrine was built. For every year passed the over the decades an agreement has been in place prior to the Hume allignment, with the Shire of Bulla, that the facilities and park land within the memorial hall and shrine were made available at a no cost charge. And so the damm shouldn't be charged.

To charge our war vetrans the use of facilities for a day of remeberance, when if it wasnt for them we wouldn't have the things we take for granted. The mayor of the Hume City Council last week Mohammed Abboucie, put a figure to hire the seats, cooking and tea facilities to the RSL and Vetrans to use the surroundings and facilities. A Estimated cost I am unaware of, but it a disgrace, and Citizens and rate payers of Sunbury should be filthy and propose us back to move to Macedon Council.

The RSL and vetrans had to outsource their catering and facilities to N & M catering, and I am led to believe the Vetrans in the end, ended up removing the chairs form the hall....

Boy how stories get twisted and turned around!

The Council are required by law to have the RSL complete an event process, mostly to do with OHS and given the events on ANZAC Day where serious First Aid was required the process worked. Unfortunately a junior officer was following normal protocol for events and originally told them that there would be a fee, as soon as this was realised by Senior officers the RSL were told there would be no fee, we have never and will never charge them a fee.

The chairs that are used inside are really not suitable to be used outside (OH&S) and council would have assisted in obtaining suitable chairs however, I was never notified about any of these matters until 10.05 on Friday morning, a bit late to do anything.

The RSL got the chairs from N&M free of charge I believe, and having sat in them they were a lot more comfortable than the chairs from the hall.

The council have never been involved with the catering for the ANZAC day function, the modest morning tea is provided by the RSL and out the back they make a bit of money by selling a bit of grog.

Sunbury has never been a part of Macedon Council so there is nothing to potentially move back to as it never existed.

Hume City Council has/is spending $20,000 on a memorial garden and improvements to the Monument in Sunbury, this money came out of mine and my fellow councillors ward allocation.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Ive been absolutely training the house down the last couple of weeks, like a gazel, hey omni?
But I think the new coach has a grudge against older blokes and his assistant against tall blokes, so I reckon I might be screwed. Might have to take up umpiring.:D

C'mon Scotty, the little man and myself have told you if you can knock 12 of our own players out, then you will be right up there for selection on thurs. Never say never big fella could be a return game in the near future.

Not much happening here today. Some big games this week. Sunbury v Woodend should be a good one as will Lancefield v Macedon. Local rilvary is back for Kilmore and Wallan too.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

taken from the Kilmore FC website - note the third line....

"The Time is Now 2008" is the mantra for the KILMORE Football Club.

Pre season training saw record numbers of player's attendance and also sorted the weak from the strong.

Wherever "The Weak" decide to play this year the club wishes them well.

Whistle time was painful and the "King of The Oval" competition sorted the Men from the Boys.

"Let the games begin" was the cry when our team went toe to toe with Oak Park in March followed by Assumption.

Although the outcome saw us suffer defeat we could easily have had two easy wins if we chose to play easy opponents.

Truly competitive teams challenge the best, sometimes being outclassed while they learn, however never running from a challenge.

Unfortunately for Yarraville they played against a team that is learning from previous preformance, is starting to understand what is required to be successful and is developing a willingness to commit even more effort to improve team performance.

A lot has changed at the KILMORE Football Netball Club this year and the process of change is difficult for players, members and supporters to accept.
It is best implemented by those who are honestly self-aware, humble enough to want to keep improving, and willing to take responsibility for their actions and learn from their errors.

"The Time is Now"

Coach Speers

i must say after reading this - why wouldnt the guys who are playing else where this season want to return!!!!
