Yes what do you mean it is a discrace.
Good game all day.Best player was Craig Thompson.
Macedon were very good today ,but the Man of the Moment C.Laurie chimed in when it was needed.

Macedon had all the play for the last 10 minutes of the game and in reality really should have won it in the end but costly mistakes causing turnovers found the ball being played on the wings and flanks a lot with avenues to goal hard to come by. James Wright was outstanding for the cats and Laurie for the Diggers was hard to stop - great set of hands a great kick. was a great game to watch.

well it looks like another very good weekend of footy...wallan 5 goals down at half time to get up is a great win...if centrals want to make finals they have to win those games...riddell smashing rockbank no surprises there...no training on a thursday an going to crown, getting in fights there must help them even more:D...diggers in a close one over macedon..cole laurie find of the year at full foward going along nicely...sunbury in a close one over lancefield...what where the scores in the woodend romsey game anyone??:thumbsu:

You could hardly call it spiteful. Wheelahan had a sleep during the third quarter after copping a shirtfront & there were two send offs, one for each team. One was for striking (Melton) and one for language (Wallan). Apart from that there were no melees of note.
diggers are the smokeys!!! who got reported and what for. wallan will be there finals time and ljames will kick 150 for the year

Does anyone know the netball results for this week???
I wanna put some money on a netball side to take out the GF, its a bet I have with the missus. Can anyone give me any tips or run down on players/teams that may help me out. I told her I could pick it easy and truth be told I have no idea about the game really. :)
HELP!!!!

HELP!!!!

You'd be pretty safe with Diggers Rest, leading all three grades at the moment.

Does anyone here know who to contact about the ladders and results for the netball? The B grade ladder is incorrect as it has Wallan with the incorrect amount of points for wins etc... The people of Wallan are proud of their girls and would like this to be fixed soon. :thumbsu:

Contact the league, I am sure they would be more than happy to sort it out for you.

Wallan vs Centrals

It was simple, umpires just lost control of the game. The game wasn't spiteful, it was just one incident that has left a few questions and queries about the authority of the umpires. This game was played in a good spirit, hard hitting, a great contest. Wheels dominated the first half of the game, by far the best half of football I've ever seen him play for Centrals. Obviously Wallan needed to be accountable in the second half and made Wheels earn his kicks, which is fine. I didn't stop him, only makes him a better player. Wheels 'sleeping' was a shirtfront 5metres off the ball (didn't know you were allowed to do that!?) which earned a free kick down field. Fair enough but the shirt front was obviously high and a report should of been made. It's a hot topic in the AFL, players receive more than 4 weeks for even the slightest contact to an oppositions head. Interesting that Adam McPhee this week said that players have a duty of care for opposition. It is enforced through the umpires and tribunals. The umpire who called the free knew it was high contact, even said so to Greeny. So my question is, why wasn't the players welfare looked after? And why wasn't the enforcing player made accountable? Unbelievable that the best player on the ground can be shirt fronted to the head and knocked out cold after the ball has left the area and all the umpire does is a pay a free kick. This led to Centrals players flying the flag to protect a mate. Wallan were very unlucky to have a player sent off for swearing, obviously an umpires reaction to the lack of control in the game. Very stiff. Our player got sent off for striking, fair enough. Shouldn't put up with that. Wallan were very lucky not to have a player sent off for striking, an incident that the umpire saw! So the umpire loses control of what was already a good game of football and some say the game was spiteful. The player should be reported for his hit on Wheels, no
doubt about that, but more importantly, the umpire in question should question himself and how he treated his decision. Would he feel guilty if Wheels was in hospital last night? No, not by the way he handled
himself yesterday. No player, club or umpire is above the game. I will say that Kenny was awesome yesterday. He was fair, honest and straight forward. He could see the tensions building and officiated and communicated openly to players and coaches. My issue is that a players welfare is of upmost importance in a game of football. We have umpires to ensure this. But what happens when this is not the case? Take this incident out of the game and it was a cracker!
As for the footy, well done to Wallan. Melton played the better footy in the first half and Wallan definitely responded with a terrific second half. Win was well deserved, and despite above whinge about one incident, the umpires had no bearing on the result.

If the club feels so strongly about the incident, why don't they request an investigation into the hit????

I dont think the club wants to investigate the incident based and what the player did. Yeah the hit was late, yeah a player got knocked out but was that his real intention?! I wouldn't think so. Plus why should a club have a player suspended? That's the umpires job to do on the day! I would like the club to have the incident investigated based on the umpires perspective. He knew his mistake and then sends a Wallan player off for swearing! He should of made the right call at the right moment and the silly stuff afterwards wouldn't have happened.

the bump was just after he kicked it, he got knocked out from his head hittin the ground, plus he came back on and had staged quite a few free kicks before the incident. but yes he was definately playin well.

if that was the case the umpire wouldn't have paid the free. and we all know that being 4 foot 5, wheels should be representing bulgaria in greco-roman wrestling but he is too good for that as his first half accounted for! but opposition players need to learn that you need to get low, low, low to tackle him!

Very funny stuff coming from the Centrals camp this year, keep it up!

wheels was by far best on ground n the first half and i saw the incident it was late high and the umpire lost control of the fact that it should have been a red card! and the player who laid the bump would no that himself, he looked as suprised as anyone else at the ground. changed the match that decision.

So who was the umpire?

Interesting spot for the centre circle at Kangas ground, was it to negate Waters leap against Spud or what ???

Great to see the ground in that great condition. :thumbsu: to all concerned.

Yeah, cos we are that smart... :p

Can anyone ID this Hawk for me please? Don't want to get his name wrong in the caption.

Cheers
