any truth to the rumor that northern bullants recruiter j house will be an assistant coach to anthony stevens at echuca next season???

'Bout as much chance as Timmy Mac' getting his 2 brothers to play at Riddell next season..... Younger brother " Ronald " plus he has an older brother that works on the Family Farm up bush !

Oh ... well done to Romsey too on their hosting of the big day last Saturday. They had pretty big shoes to fill & they accomplished the task magnificently.
Hope you made plenty of $$$$$ boys, so you can recruit where you need to for next season............ or you could just re-sign Hollywood again ! :D

What's the half time entertainment Sunday. ???????

I think the RDFL has commissioned the “Desperate” production company to stage a Re-enactment of the Theatrical Extraviganza called "Le Miserable"

It’s a show where 36 participants dressed in either red & black or brown & yellow costumes dance around on the arena whilst 3 “Masters” dressed in orange attempt to try & corral and count them !

It’s a Tragic Comedy of course with a Happy Ending !

Absolute rubbish.. This is officially the biggest rant of them all.. Why didn't you submit a detailed account of the incident to the league if you have all the facts to make an assumption of the event?? Why, because you dont have all the details.. The FACT is, they didn't get off the charge, they were found guilty and given the appropriate set penalty for the charge that they were found guilty of... As for precedent.. How has there been a precedent set for a penalty that already exists? Talk about bias.. Your post is biased and hysterical.. Hopefully you have decided that you wont be returning to the thread, it is better off without you.

I have to say IMS for a moderator your not overly tolerant of people having a different point of view. This is the 2nd time you have nailed somene in 2 days for simply having a different opinion. So what if someone thinks the decision not to suspend him is a disgrace. Surely its just an opinion and as a mod on a public forum you as much as anyone should understand this. I dont see anyone being defamed or anything like that. As a completely independent person(no involvement with these 2 or any other rdfl club) I must admit just reading all the posts and trying to have some kind of an idea of what happened it does seem like this league has taken the easy decision. I did not see the incident and I could be wrong but just like bit of balance and footyhead its an opinion and if you keep discouraging them then you wont have to do this mod thing much longer as you wont have anyone to moderate. Reading through it seems the most inflamitory remarks were made by p3 but you did not seem to have any comments towards him simply because you agree more with his point of veiw.

Its all starting to look a bit like chinese govmt propaganda on this site. If you say something I agree with I will let it go. If we dont agree we may not allow it.

And there is no use telling me to go find another site because I dont really ever post on here anyway. just wanted to make a point on what I think is pretty poor form by you.

Did I red card someone?? Just because I am a moderater, I am entitled to my opinion just as much as anyone else on here.. He is entitled to his opinion.. I responded to his response to "everyone" else on here who didn't have the same opinion as he did on the result.. So maybe you should read my post a little closer and with a touch more clarity rather than just saying, he is a mod, he cant tell him to go away... I dont deny either of these guys an opinion.. What I am responding to is that the immediate reaction of these guys was to shoot down the OPINIONS of people that agreed with how the whole incident was dealt with, not expressing their own opinions until after they have told everyone else they are not balanced and one sided in their views.

Thank you for your time :thumbsu:

Very Good!!! To be technically correct I think it should only be 34 and you forget the 'key component' - the really red faced guy (in a brown and gold track suit top) on the side of the arena as the Red and Black finish the show by kicking a freebie goal!!!!

Some of us have to work unfortunately. :(

Do you have a question or are you just fishing ?

I thought you would have had a good view of what took place. Has been a big week at Riddell.

I do have a question now - what is with the "turn on the power - serge must play" all about. He retired 5 weeks ago. The only slim chance he was going to play this weekend was in the two's if Meech and James were suspended - on top of the 2 injuries the two's may have been short. Might have been a good way to finally go out with playing with Tim and Ants. Not to be with 2 getting off.

Goodluck to diggersrest in both footy and netball grandfinals on sunday!

Goodluck to the rdfl in controlling the crowd during and after the seconds game. From what i have read there wasn't much in the way of security for spectators, the storm was brewing for some time in the game last week.

I'll be taking my family and expect there will be plenty of security there after last weeks proceedings!

Having a league boss state that neither player threw a punch was further justification as to why they were given suspended sentances. Also the players were hit with a massive $60 fine to make them think twice about fence jumping. There maybe a fund raiser this Sunday at Lancefield to help them out.

What I find funny about this statement is that I was standing within 1 metre of the leage boss when it happened and for some unknown reason I saw things differently to what he has! Perhaps there was some form of natural phenomenon like the Auraura Borealis that changed my perception of the incidient.

In my opinion, both players have escaped extremely lightly and shoud be puchasing tickets in this weeks lottery. As I understand it there was a player who was charged for striking a spectator not too long ago and was given a down graded 16 week suspension. A very well known Daryl Brinkhuis was rubbed out for 7 (that's right, 7) years about 10 years ago for a similar incident and after 4 years had the sentece over turned to allow him back on the field.

I undertand the circumstances that there was family members involved, and look if it were my family I may have done the same thing, but any league that lets players cross the line (no pun intended) and get away with a slap on the wrist needs a damn good look at it's policies and the examples they want to be setting for the next generation of footballers to grace ouyr local fields. For many years I have been a fan of the both the league and the people that run and for the most part they do a fantastic job. In this instance it is a blight on our league and our game. I like both players and want to see them play so don't think that it is anything personal. I would say the same thing had a Romsey player been involved.

In summation...... A Disgrace:thumbsdown:

welcome back harry....great post, i wasnt at romsey so i cant comment on who was to blame or suspensions or elaborate on the story...

but for the 3rd time in 3 years, players and spectators have been involved in fights, of pretty serious magnitude...something needs to be done to fix this for the improving RDFL not to lose the ground it has made over the last 4 years in every other aspect....

hopefully a ripping grand final can help to erase the memories of last week

Maybe the RDFL need to look at taking a far more serious view at the clubs that become involved in these types of incidents. I'm sure the individual clubs know who the trouble makers are among their own supporters, and It would be far easier for the clubs to weed them out than put the pressure on the league to do so.Many clubs pay some big money to players it might be time to start giving out some big fines to the clubs that become involved in this type of crap.

Correct me if i am wrong but wasnt the incident your talking about after a reserves match between Romsey and Woodend. As a recall Woodend spectators went onto the ground after the siren and started mouthing off to the Romsey players. Looks like nothing has changed from some of the Woodend followers. If its the same bunch, Woodend Football Club should F***k them off

gentlemen.it is my understanding that the RDFL TRIBUAL only heard the cases on the reports made by the umpires on the day and that the League is still investigating and that further penalties may yet still be coming

Why would you have thought that ? ( maybe its time you came out of the shadows)
& Yes it has indeed !

& IMO Serg is a great fit -

Because 1. He should be well & truelly over the hammy injury.
2. He is more than quallified, fit & ready to slot straight in.
3. His selection wont unballance either of the other 2 sides.
4. With him & Ash selected the bombers loose nothing.
5. & he can play a little bit apparently !

Plus it would be a good way for him to put an end to his career.

u have 2 understand omni that not a lot of guys have actually witnessed this little marvel in action.sergie power and his entire career speaks for itself.omni my coach jarrod dixon commented to me during sunburys game against woodend a few times.i was on the bench at the start when he pulled me aside and said, when u guys jogged out all the supporters were saying GEE they brought helmers back in 4 this.and at half time he just looked at me as sif to say,**** they forget quickly how good u are.
well sergie is no different.infact he is exactly the same.if he plays, they win.the boys will walk ten foot tall 4 him as my boys do me.play the little marvel scooter and give him his due send off:thumbsu:

hey guys i dont normally follow this league but with the incident that happened saturday at romsey i know for an absolute fact that there was a current AFL footballer involved in the fight and he did end up with a broken nose. im not mentioning any names but yous should have a fair idea who he is.
