i am dean helmers and im more than happy 2 answer your QUESTIONS if u can call them that.firstly i dont play anymore.also the kangas dont have bucket loads of money 2 splash around,nor do they need to.
secondly not one player from the edfl or bedigo league have been approached by myself or the club.FACT. and only two players from the ballarat league have been contacted.and one of them has played all his career here. and perhaps thats the reason why u joined bigfooty today under an alias to start this untrue crap.as 4 sunbury never winning a flag b4!well i havent coached them b4 either

From reading this post and your last couple of post's (bfl leagues x 2), you don't seem to be a very happy man, are you somehow affected by the dealing's that may be happening and may be a little upset by it all? Pretty quick to take pot shots at a bloke and club without really knowing there back grounds. What's your's champ?

In regards to the culture and the department how have you come to this conclusion?? Personal experience or just yapping off at the mouth...? Did you lose a player to the roll me overs? You sound just a tad bitter and precious!

Helmers was a gun in his prime
. as for roll me overs they have played finals from 2005-2008, they was very unlucky not to make it this year with the likes of m.welsh n.hole, j.baddeley going overseas. Injuries to m.mcinerney, d.yarwood, b.johnson, d.niki, r.ellis, b.goggins, m.leonard, and the loss of j.ploog to a silly report, if all them stayed on the park all year they could have gone all the way, The good thing out of that was all the under 18's that got games in the first, so to helmers good luck, and with all them ppl back out there next year and the 5 or 6 18's that got games and a few new blokes they could be a very big chance at the flag next year,ALL THE BEST TO THE SUNBURY BOYS

for someone who writes on footy you amaze me sometimes...let me explain something to you...umpires do their votes on who plays well on the day...club votes can vary according to the coaches instructions...example ...ross lyon sends out stevey baker to tag ablett ablett doesnt get a kick ..lenny hayes plays well and picks up the three umpires votes but in the club votes baker gets the three because ablett didnt get a kick..this is how the votes can vary

I'd like to add a little addenda to that if I may OIT........ Umpires do their votes on who "THEY THINK" plays well on the day.
That may in fact tend to vary greatly from those players who actually had an impact on the outcome of the contest.
Lets not forget Umpires are out there to do a job...... & in the RDFL, they do a pretty damn good one over all, Their priority is not to spectate with the single minded purpose of trying to work out who the "BEST PLAYERS" are, out of all those 44 individuals on the field of play surely..... that is if they are doing their job properly of course !
With out trying to denigrate these type of awards in any way because that is the system we all use........ lets keep in mind who chooses them & the process & environment by which it is carried out eh ?
Every club that fields a team tries to get a few players to add to the playing list,so I don't see why everybody starts saying there's money been splashed around when a new coach takes over. You would be stupid not to do it (chase players).A coach and club are judged on there ladder position at the end of the year.All i can say is that all clubs start chasing players and make the RDFL a better league for all to enjoy.
theres also that superstar that tragically broke his arm early this year ... geez wats his name again .. *beep* Ooop! thatll be the tires!!

So obviously you can't heed too much notice of the Bowen Medal votes!!

Every Macedon player gets voted out of 10 on there performance on the day, so if u miss a couple of games which i did then its obviously makes it harder to win against a player who has played every game which is what happened, at the end of the day who really cares its all about winning premierships.
