I'd say he would have definitely been Sunbury's number one ruckman after the Lions' skipper and lead ruck was dropped later in the year after a mediocre season at best. The RDFL has reasonable ruck stocks throughout most clubs and Waters has successfully withstood them all. Sometimes he was beaten, but never without a fight.

Your still either making things up or guessing - either way your wrong again. Pat Carriss the Sunbury number 1 ruckman and skipper was NEVER dropped in 2009 - he was injured against Melton South and missed the 2nd half of the year.

Sutherland who is not the skipper but the back up ruckman was dropped and now heading back to the RDFL. Interesting to see how how he goes against Tom. If Sutherland wins lets hope Tom puts up another good fight.

Carriss did his knee mid year which ended his year. Sutherland is still very raw and did an ok job. The good ruckmen such as Weighmouth would get a hold of him and dominate him like in the final Sunbury lost. He is still a couple of years away from competing with the best ruckmen in the BFL and is not very good up foward. 3 years and it will be a different story. Good little hand over period with Cuffe still at the kangaroos.

The number 2 was dropped but they have a system in the BFL that if a senior player is dropped to the 2's they are able to come back and play seniors if required to do so. It is a great system and the number 2 ruckman was able to ruck the 2nd half of the season.

So with Cuffe and Fishendon at the Kanagroos are you telling me Sutherland has gone from the back up ruckman at the Sunbury Lions to backing up the backup ruckman at the Sunbury Kangaroos?

Now Whiskers, that is a stupid statement right there! How can you say that? Do you know every ruckman who is playing in the comp next year? Teams havent finished recruiting for God sake! Remember this at the beginning of round one!! If you dont i will remind you.

Thought he had retired when he drove out of Broadford's Harley Hammond Reserve midway thru the Rd.17 clash

He left after the game had finished but didn't play it out. He had his reasons believe me. If/When you meet again during the year, ask him.

Reckon if he went to a club with more knowledge and skill on the field he'd be a big asset.

Unfortunately never got to meet him, and doubt I'll be seeing him during the year

Fishendon played in EDFL last few years, i think airport west or pascoe vale, as for Jordan i would say he is quite happy to stay at StBernards

Granted the bloke has been to a few clubs but he has played the last 3 years years there and also helped the Rams a lot by coaching the kids to 2 flags. Other than the success with the kids he's had none there on the field himself. He deserves a run with a better club, and as you said mate, best of luck to him.
just 1 thing walker told about five of us to come from melton sth the season just gone, and the club (although there were some incidents) took giant leaps on field considering walker is the oldest player at 27 now he is leaving what he has started getting us down there, full retail on tatts palms said hahaha

gee mate trying the old guilt trip?? surley he has done more than enough at the rams for you not to go down that path:confused::confused::confused:

Kenny Beaumont has just been told today that he is the new coach of Broadford. Won a flag there in 96 and the league medal. Broady on the up in 2010
Is this the same one that played at Kilmore and won a flag there in 94 as well? Was an absolute freak of a player back then.

Couldn't agree more, spending all available money on the one player is a very risky venture, but that is a decision that the club needs to make and only a decision that the club can make.. What is frustrating about posts like the one's put on here by The Seer is that all of the blame seems to lay at the feet of the individual that is considered good enough to earn the money.. It's a ridiculous statement, the decision is held solely by the club that decides to recruit the individual, they and their competitors are the single driver for the amount of money that is on offer, the player can put a figure on his head, but if the clubs refuse to pay it then he is obviously not worth that money, but if clubs jump at that offer and even increase it, then that players worth to those clubs is the decision of those clubs. There is absolutely no reason to pot a player that is getting paid any amount of money, they might ask for it, but the club has to make the call on paying it...

You may also choose the flag champ, but in the end, money would talk, and if you are indeed good enough to be offered the money, you would likely take it, the reason that some take a little less is that the club is thier home club, they have reason too, but deciding to take 50 a game instead of 100 is nothing like choosing between 500 or 800.. No matter who you are...

I agree with you 100% with you on the fact that it comes down to the club to pay players.

What get's up my goat is when club's pay all this money and then go into reccess , or change the clubs name.

But other Comp's around have dropped in standard.

So if one player for examaple is on $400 a game , thats alot of hotdogs to sell.
