Doona,

How are you guys going up the road there?? How is the feeling around the club about joining the RDFL in 09??

Did hear a rumour that Lawrence might be returning??

Things going ok, more about trying to get sorted off field at this stage as there's a bit involved with a transfer Im told. Far too early to make an accurate judgement as there are always plenty of rumours circulating in the silly season.

From where Im sitting we should be competitive which is all we can hope going blind and all into a new competition.

Didn't he coach the Romsey U/18s and get sacked and brown took over in 2007
dont belive he got sacked but was asked to stand down because of comitee disagreements.he must go half alright though. bought alot of new young faces to the club which is good for any club if they stay..... any word on ex romsey players at heathcote returning home??

Getting rid of jumper clashes

If you are no good at those 3D Magic Eye pictures or if you struggle at spot the difference, the RDFL wasn't for you last year.
JUMPER clashes will soon be a thing of the past in the Riddell District Football League.

Up to five teams are set to introduce alternate strips next season.

RDFL general manager Scott McCartney said in addition to eliminating problem clashes, the jumpers offered clubs extra sponsorship opportunities.

“A few teams will be getting clash jumpers next year.

“The clubs see them as an opportunity for extra sponsorship.

“A $1500 outlay on the jumpers could mean they make several thousand dollars back.”

In addition to new club Broadford, which will use its original black, white and red strip when playing Sunbury Kangaroos, McCartney said Rockbank was also among the clubs considering an alternate strip.

“Rockbank is looking at a whole new jumper which would be predominately white with red,” Mr McCartney said.

He said Sunbury may also use a different strip when travelling to play Broadford, but not next year.

“(Melton) Centrals and Macedon also clash with very similar navy blue jumpers, so Centrals are looking to have an alternate jumper as well.

“In the future we won’t have the clashes of the past.”

But reigning premier Riddell, whose red-and-black jumper clashes heavily with Rockbank’s colours, will not be jumping on the bandwagon.

“Absolutely not,” Riddell president Andrew Power said.

“We would certainly never change our colours.

I don't know where Scott gets $1,500 from but I am thinking it that would be amount per team so in total aruond 4 and half for a club. A fair outlay.

Does anyone have any other alternative samples jumper that may make it to the ground next season ?

When did Andy Power become the Eddie McGuire of the RDFL?

Can anyone confirm if young gun David James is returning to play with the Riddell Bombers? I heard rumors that he is very keen to return to where he started his playing days.

if so look out he has been seen running many a lap around marby river and doing some heavy lifting. May be able to bring some handy players with him. If fit his mates that play up that way think he would be one of the best going around.

Have Riddell signed any more players other then those mentioned a couple of weeks ago?

Have Kilmore been training? If so have they signed any big names?

We've been training, finished Pre-Christmas last Wednesday (17th), and are returning for Pre-Season Monday 19th January. We're in discussion with some players, new coach Guy Booker assessing our current crop in Pre-Christmas as well as recommending a few blokes.

In keeping with the theme on the board, I could throw outlandish names out there, or remain tight lipped.... You know how these things go...talk too much, end up with egg on your face!

Be worth a quid that quartet, especially having tasted life in the Marby Army - but in saying that a fantastic get for whichever club lures them. Hows the new F.O.M gig going Rgs011, reading from afar you've been busy already?

To be honest...I've not heard these guys mentioned around the place (albeit I've been there 5 mins). F.O.M gig is going well, I'll be doing more off-field stuff than recruiting, training etc...We had a good turn out for the Christmas break up and the lads look to be a good bunch (must be something with the teams in Mitchell....all friendly places!).

Having not played much this season, I gagging for season 09 to roll around!

How's the BFNC thirds coming along?
I met a young bloke, 16 or so from Broady Juniors...said to be catching the eye of Calder of on the weekend, will PM you his name!

After having a drink with a bloke that works with a fella from whittelsea, the rumour outta there is that there could be up to 11 players moving to Kilmore with Booker, 5 of those were in the top 10 that took them to NFL finals last year.
Add to that, Robbie Whitmar has once again has been put down as a definite starter this year. (like the past 3 years)
If these rumours are true look out RDFL, Kilmore would be more than contenders.

AFL Vic rules prohibit this from occurring... Only 5 players from one club may transfer to another. So cant happen...

I wish for a 6' blonde G.A. with no inhibitions & resolve to ease up on the little blue pills. :)

I know the rule. Although i was sure it was only if it were to another club within the same league.
I think if both clubs come to an agreement it could happen, but as stated earlier it is a rumour. Although i have since been told that whitmar is a definite, Certain starter next year. If true, Do we give him the Bowen with his clearance?
