Matty,
are both choates playing anymore for lancefield? sheepdogs when they played but very handy players who could carve you up:thumbsu:

I believe Simon is going around this year, probably as captain again, while Damian is back in retirement after playing a couple of "comeback" matches last year.

I wouldn't call either of them sheepdogs. Damian was as hard as nails and Simon didn't mind the in and under stuff either. Simon was probably best suited to the outside of packs because of his sublime left foot.

Meh.... He has more time than me to edit.. I just delete the childish games.... As I will continue to do.... But I may have to start handing cards out, a gentle request to people seems not to be sufficient these days...

Mmmmm.... I have more time than YOU eh pal ?

Lets just say, you do the Day Shift mate & I do the Afternoon Shift eh ?

Making this make sense is a real chore sometimes.
Must say it does seem to be the same old names that cause the most trouble.

I more inerested in what is happening to this thread?

Posts are edited by Its my Show then re-edited by Omni?? Bangoal1 has a post deleted by IMS then it is brought back by Omni and re-edited. I would have thought the junior mod would not be coming over the top of the senior mod. Whats going on?

Whats this Junior Crap ?
Get it right pal its " SPC' " Moderator !
& that stands for SPECIALIST !........ yeah thats right just like Sylvester Stallone in that movie....... & whats more............. Sharon Stone is sitting right here on my lap now !!!
& I do have a Pistol in my pocket too !

Can those in the know at Riddell confirm if the list of departures and retires is correct? It could be time for a few of talented young blokes they have had running around in twos to step up?

I have been told that Nick Ash will be going around again.

Yes a few Riddell players have decided to move on, but don’t forget …. Juzzy Belleville & Braden Allen will come back to play.

Plus many other players have played senior footy & made significant contributions with Riddell & would probably walk into most other clubs sides.
Those players that can make the step up are………
Jason Crotty, Jason Linnell, David Earl, Murry Mcdougal, Rod Sonogan, Troy Marinier, Lachlan Testro, Darcy Grant, Kallan Greasley, Ben Sonogan & Luke Fleming…… Just off the top of my head.
Whilst I have no doubt the Professional people that are in charge at Bomberland will be out there actively recruiting their asses off to top up the list….. Don’t forget, they are the ones that pulled off the Sam Young signing of last season ! (went a bit ok too)

It would be a foolish man who wrote off the Bombers to soon in 09 I can assure you.

Always thought Simon was the more consistent one and Damian the one who could win a game off of his own boot. both are well protected by the umpires though, couldn't touch them without them getting a free kick from Simmo and the other men in white...

Rivalries transpire over decades which means it wont be happening in my time - and even when the two clubs participated briefly in the RDFL together, when you consider the two tiered comp of the time they've probabaly competed no more than 20 times in each clubs history.

The rivalry goes way back to 1921 when Kilmore first played Broadford in the the Waranga North East League. Both clubs played in this league until 1931. Kilmore headed to the RDFL for two seasons and rejoined the Waranga league in 1933. Both clubs competed here until 1937 and in 1938 they both moved into the Hume Highway Football League where Kilmore played until 1944.

Broadford left in 1945 while Kilmore went back to the RDFL in 1947. In 1977 Broadford joined the RDFL and played against the Blues until 1984 in Division Two when Kilmore moved to the Panton Hill Football League.

Indeed !...... You have become a tad intolerant of late bud........ but then that what Reds are for I guess ?
Some need to go back & read the rules they signed on to before they make their contributions perhaps.

Anyway, you got a gig yet for this season champ ?

Gees if M Allen is moving on along with James who is going to fill the holes left in Riddells forward line?

Have they picked up any forwards? If not I wouldn't be surprised if Nick Ash makes a move up forward. I know he use to kick plenty from full forward in his younger days.

OMI stated yesterday that Riddell have a number of 2nds players that could make the step up into the ones. Who are the other clubs that have great depth? Woodend, Sunbury? Which players at these clubs could be called upon to cover departing players in 2009?

Yeah mate, heard same. gees you blokes will be happy with that, Mick had a pretty good record every time he played against the Kangas. No more 8 goal quarters from him this season I guess eh ???

cant see mick kicking to many next season as he will now get a lot more closer attention given that james has moved on to sunbury a 30-40 goal return for the year would be the likely outcome im thinking

heard today that arron james will be playing at killmore this year...:eek:

Has been getting thrown around since well before Xmas, although I was of the thought Stanhope was trying to get him a travel buddy and he did tell me he was staying at Stanhope
