yeah christan has singed 2 play at the rams this season after playing at glenorden the last few years and he is a quality pick up and it has been said that he is bringing a few players with him and adam brookshaw who has been co\coach at glenorden is supposed 2 b joining the rams coaching staff

not to be smart here just interested thats all but were does a tiny town like rockbank get there sponsors from ??
i mean what does the place have other than the caravan park ?
are the sponsers mainly from melton ?
i personally hope that they succeed in winning more games this yr but it must be hard for a town like rockbank to attract quality players having said that it only takes one or two good players there to start the ball rolling best of luck to you guys for the yr im tipping you may just upset a few sides this year

m.allen and h.wadden confirmed signings at moama this season.:thumbsu:

wadden to the murray league pfft wont last long up there think he may find the going a little bit to tough up there a lot of quality running around in the mfl now with a lot of money being thrown at goulburn valley players to come across. very strong league and in my mind only the best will succeed up there , lee james nearly kicked a ton up there but again different calibre of player wadden to play a lot of twos footy this yr i think.

Its a valid point, most of the clubs sponsors r melton based but having said that the club doesnt have many sponsors 2 begin with, since lee spry has taken over as coach he has tried 2 make the club more professinal but its a difficult task

valid point about the murray league dirk. it is a strong competition these days.however love him or hate him, wadden knows how to find the footy.i still see him being a nuisance to most half backs in any league.time will tell tho i guess:confused:

how old is wadden now?? 28, 29?
anyone tell me how bomber basanko went last season for Riddell??

bomber went alrite last year for an old boy !

he was still his old damaging self popping up and kicking goals when needed, think he may have hung the boots up now according to the rumour mill but i've heard this same story for the last few yrs so doubt wether it would be true as riddell will certainly need his experience around the place this yr thats for sure with all the departures

He wouldn't and shouldn't be welcome back in the RDFL.

And why is that? He was reported and did his time - he did nothing illegal. He is like hundreds of RDFL players before him that has been reported and completed the weeks allocated to him. No one jumped up and down about Powers rap sheet when he came back to the RDFL. His is as impressive as Aaron James.

He who is without sin cast the 1st stone.

bomber is playing. he's got 16 games to go to get to 200 for riddell and he wants it. this will be his last year

Oh he will be a nuisance alright, if any opposition player turns their back on him or puts their head over the ball !!!!!!

I think you are a little hard of understanding there DH.
So just for your challenged intellect and pathetic benefit I will explain.
I was referring to the incident that thousands of people witnessed - me including which occured during the 2007 RDFL Grand Final. Seems its topical now, seeing as how the cowardly person is apparently trying to reserect his career in another League.
It is also an insult to link him to a player of the like of Aaron James - Aaron can actually play and is definitely no king hitter !

That clear enough for you ?
Comings and goings ?
Perhaps you should leave DH if you cant follow the point of topic !!!!

Aaron James - the one who threw a chair at a tribunal member?? That one?? One would think that is by far a worse offence in itself and im sure he has ressurected his career!

The incident happened 2 years ago knobhead! Get over it and move on!!

C.Laurie to Sunbury Lions , A fit and Firing (apparently sheddded a fair bit of weight) A.davis to Diggers

Laurie should be testing himself at a higher level at his age, he will either be known as a player with Potential, who took the easy way out and became a big fish in a small Pond or a very good Player?
Only time will Tell.

Already played at higher level...

Also, who is to say Laurie has been a big fish in a small pond. I'm sorry, but he hasn't been dominating RDFL sides his whole career. Even in 2008 he had his ups and downs. Personally I'd like to see Laurie play another year at the Burra, hold down the leading full forward role and lead them to a flag. Players like Sims, Heritage, Laurie, Jose, Green etc. etc. should have unfinished business at Diggers Rest after going oh so close on a number of occasions. Walking away from the Burra with a flag would certainly be just reward for all of their loyalty and commitment.

I don't think Laurie's body would hold up well enough while slogging it out in the Ballarat FL either. He has battled injury for a few years now and is probably limited to 15 games a season with the soft tissue problems he is having.

He could manage it quite easily pal, he is more than up to it.
Its amazing what the off season can do to re-juvinate ones body to get over those little nagging soft tissue injuries.
Plus the $$$$ may be to hard for Diggers to compete with..... & for Leftie to pass up on !

Hey Whisper, if your in the know at the Rams can you comfirm or deny the following.
Adam Brookshaw now staying at Glenorden,Christian Innella's season could start late due to a broken hand, and One of the Cooke boys could miss the season after taking a tumble off one of the grand stand at Moonee valley. Also heard ressie coach could be sacked as hasnt fronted for pre season training yet. Seems like abit going on down the Rams this early on in the season.

That figure sounds a little conservative really I would think, for what a person of Jamesy's calibre would bring to the club surely ????
I heard the recruited players in question were actually just basically playing for the love of the game, & that any remuneration they may recieve was going to the charity of their choosing !!!!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

posted on heathcote thread...

www.**********************

Former Collingwood and Richmond forward Aaron James will remain with Kyabram District League club Stanhope for season 2009. James who has been a key cog in the Lions 2007 and 2008 had become the recruiting target of a number of clubs including Heathcote District club North Bendigo.

Stanhope veteran Coach Mark Patten had confirmed that James had decided to stay a Lion after recently re-considering his options. Retaining the power forward is a major boost for club with as many as 8 Premiership players moving on since the success of last September.

In his 14 matches since he joined the club James has demolished opposition defences kicking 137 goals. Stanhope will meet neighbours Girgarre in their Round 1 match up on April 18th.
