Rockbank played Gordon on the weekend and walked away with all 4 wins (2's, seniors and A & B Netball). Seniors were missing at least 3 of their best with Both Innella boys out and Walker only playing half. Promising signs from some new faces both on the footy field and the netball court too.
Good to hear, both Leigh & Shaun have been working hard to get this club up & heading in the right direction, it has been a battle but with their persistence, it is paying off.

Anyone here how Kilmore went on the w/e??

We played Coldstream (EFL Div 3) in a 6 Quarter (or 6/6ths Game). The first 2 quarters were for the Reserves, who at the end of play were behind by 8 goals.

The Senior sides came on for 4 quarters, with the score continuing and Kilmore overcame this 8 goal deficit to win by 1 point!

We play Oak Park at home Saturday, 1st-2nd-3rd teams all playing full matches.

This will give you a fair indication on where you're at. Oak Park are flying at the minute and would be favourites to win the B Grade flags in the 1's and 2's this year.

Melton Bloods and Kyneton Tigers are making enquires about joining the RDFL in 2010, as they cannot continue to perform at a high standard in there respective leagues.

Good to see your back on Thread with some breaking news. Tell me when does the RDFL start up ? Still way over West and can't get any news about you guy's.

We went up to Thornton-Eildon today for two games of footy (no 3rds) and two of netball. Both clubs were well below full strength with the 12 noon game a fair bit one-sided, Broadford winning easily. The 2pm match was pretty even allowing both sides to get what they wanted out of the contest, more importantly both sides were injury free. Yarra Valley Mountain comp starts next for Thornton and we travel up the Hume to play our friends from the Avenel FNC.

Does anyone have a link to the clearances I cant seem to find it???
You must be pretty happy with the way the lads are travelling then Doona? Quietly confident:thumbsu:

News just in is that due to a number of clubs struggling for numbers in the under 18s comp, The league have decided that the U18 will officially be a 16 side competition, with up to four interchange players.

If this is what the league need to do to keep the young fellas at a club and to make sure the comp has enough clubs, good on them.

Where are all the kids? Macedon Ranges/Melton region is one of the fastest growing in Australia. I know Broadford have got about 24 training and you would assume Kilmore would have good numbers too. Hmm.

Times have changed Matt, the majority of kids today are too lazy or have other things on the go, they dont get home on a Sat morning until around 5 or 6 am and cant get out of bed to play. If mumy doesnt wake them in time they sleep in. Would not be an 18's coach for quids as kids today dont know the meaning of RESPECT! I know there are some good kids out there, they are just hard to find.

We're ok for numbers Matt. This ruling will certainly help. We haven't got access to Assumption's players...and they have several teams I believe.

There was talk of allowing over-age players, but that didn't get up. Something like two 19YO players per side.

One thing about this new ruling is that some clubs have struggled for years and had to play 16 against 18, now when numbers are high, kids will be talking of leaving, now that it will be 2 more kids that are going to miss out each week.

too true, should be at least 16 & 6 IMO, why should clubs with sound numbers be penalised - by all means have it 16 on 16 on the park but leave the list to 22 if you have it :thumbsu:

that would be a wiser move, but should we also do this for the reserves when clubs don't have the numbers? Maybe a plus 2 rule a club cannot have more than 2 more players on the ground.

Goodluck to the RDFL under 17 team which will be taking on AFL Cairns this coming sunday. Should be a good hit out to have a look at. Does anyone know what the RDFL side is looking like?
