Ask the punters at Wallan at the weekend about two goal umpiring decisions, the worst i have witnessed in my time!
Thats a big call champ ! ............ "Your Time" certaintly spans quite a period I believe !
Surely you must've had a few of your own boot that you thought "I Was Robbed" ???
I know I did !!!
Funny thing is we never recollect too many that go the other way.... but I'll bet that happens also.
Remember the Flag man is always in the best position, with the best angle to make the call.
And anyway it didnt effect the result did it pal ?

Congratulations to the Under 18 interleague squad after having a thumping win over Ballarat last night.
For a league that is constantly rubbished over how far behind leagues such as Ballarat that we are, the Under 18's have now defeated Ballarat 3 years running. A fantastic result showing that the young players coming through the RDFL system are of an exceptionally high standard.
Premiership odds for the season after 4 rounds
Riddell $3.50
Lancefield $5
Sunbury $7
Macedon $8
Woodend $12
Diggers $17
Centrals $31
Romsey $35
Kilmore $45
Wallan $59
Rockbank $68
Broadford $101
Good work Mr T.
This would be my market though.
Riddell $2.80
Macedon $6
Lancefield $10
Woodend-Hesket $13
Sunbury Kangaroos $15
Diggers Rest $25
Wallan $25
Melton Central $51
Broadford $51
Kilmore $51
Romsey $71
Rockbank $71
Reasons: Riddell look to be the premier side, have plenty of players with finals experience and still have reasonable depth. Macedon have had quite a few players missing and still been very impressive. You know they will probably only continue to get better injuries permitting. Lancefield probably have the talent, but you still have to question their "big game" experience and whether those young players can handle finals footy. The young fellas did it in 2004 so you would expect the club's leaders to try and handle this season in a similar fashion. Woodend-Hesket will be another side that improves as the season goes on. Cooky will get a better idea of his opposition and how to position his players. Does he play forward or in the ruck, how does he play Knox etc. They still have plenty of grand final experience. Meanwhile, Sunbury Kangaroos will be let down on the big grounds come finals because of their lack of a gun tall and mobile forward. Touch wood but you would expect Cuffe will struggle to run out a full season at some stage without being rested. The Kangaroos treat every game like its a final and for that reason they can't maintain their form all year - they run out of steam. Having said that I hear they are in discussions with a key tall so if he transfers to Boardman Oval they come right back into contention.
The others are simply making up the numbers. Wallan will get better and might sneak into the top six, while Broadford will improve and will win 4-5 in a row at some stage. Romsey, Kilmore, Melton Central and Diggers Rest may cause a few upsets on the way but probably can't put enough good games together with their lack of depth once injuries hit. The Burra are the biggest disappointments. Their kids haven't come on as well as they would have liked and they lack pace around the wings and flanks.
How I come up with all this from Mount Isa? Your guess is as good as mine![]()
Hypothetically Mr nicholls i would love $20 on Hawks at those odds, would you hypothetically take my cash? Lancefield also over odds but i reckon you have riddell & cats about right.
Myles Dorman named best on ground for the riddell boys. Readng through all the results and he has 3 best on grounds. Anyone think he is a chance for the bowen at this stage?
Love the kid, but no, he won't win the Bowen.
He'll poll reasonably well, but he's not even 18 yet and would have to defy 70-odd years of history to win it.
He's an outstanding talent and worth his weight in gold to the Tigers and wouldn't be out of depth at any level in country and metropolitan footy.
I reckon Shane Muir won it when he was about that age or younger.
Winning Michelson medals by then for Kyneton IIRC.I think Shane won his first Bowen when he was 19 for Woodend-Hesket in 1981 with 29 votes. I may be wrong though. He won another for Melton South in 1984 with 27 votes.
Fair enough mattyGood work Mr T.

No, didn't say it cost Wallan the game, just disappointing to see two field umpires agreeing with the decisions made by the flagman. Didn't see any of your 7 in the GF given the wrong way! wouldn't have mattered anyway!Thats a big call champ ! ............ "Your Time" certaintly spans quite a period I believe !
