Round 5 is upon us and we will start to see the ladder take shape, with the top 4 having an opportunity to put an early gap between themselves and the rest.
Sunbury Roos are flying at the moment, got up in the top of table clash last week. Diggers have started slowly, but kicked there season off last week with a win over Wallan. Roos are alot stronger howver, and should account for the Burras in a tough encounter. 15 pts
Macedon lost no admirers in there first defeat of the season, and come up against a Centrals side building in confidence. Belief is an amazing tool in football, and this game should be a cracker, I'll tip the cats by 21.
Broadford host Kilmore in the first match of what is sure to be a big rivalry. The roos are still finding their feet in the RDFL, whilst the Blues are coming off a good win. I can see it all clicking for Broadford soon, and I'll tip them in a close one, 2 pts.
Rockbank fell back into old habits from all reports last week, and will be keen to make amends. Woodend, on the other hand, will be stinging from a 1-3 start to the year, and will be fired up to defend their home patch, and will get their season going with a solid win, 38 pts.
Riddell are still travelling nicely, unbeaten and maintaining their position as early premiership favorites. Romsey, I imagine, would be hurting after having their pride dented last week. If the redbacks produce anything like they did last week, Riddell will hand them their second successive 15 goal hiding. Going on their previous form, I'll go Riddell by 32 pts.
Lancefield to beat Wallan.
Wallan in for long couple weeks. Lancefield, Woodend and Riddell. Hope we can at least come close or win one of these games.

I know you're being a realist, but if I were a Wallan supporter I'd be backing my side to beat Lancefield tomorrow to get your season back on track. I think you have the personnel at the club but you haven't found the confidence yet. The Tigers will be hard to beat, but they are not unstoppable. If you beat Lancefield you can certainly topple the Hawks and you never know what could happen against Riddell. The Bombers are certainly the side to beat this year but I think they are certainly not the feared team they were in 2008 and have a few more weaknesses.
I'm backing the Pies to go very close tomorrow, beat the Hawks and take it up to the Bombers.
Diggers def' Sunbury by 30 odd pts.
Riddell def' Romsey by plenty.
Macedon def' Melton by plenty.

Well done to the Burra on the weekend, they came to play (if Mick Malthouse is reading, it does exist), played an exciting brand of football and did most of it without the influence of Sims who hurt his hamstring in the first quarter, although he did play out the last quarter from Full Forward, his leadership is the best in the competition in my opinion. Shane Marchewka impressive, has stepped up in the absence of Jose. The Roos were disappointing after quarter time and need to bounce back this week.
Big few weeks for Sunbury with Lancefield, Riddell and Woodend all in a row.
Yes big few weeks for Sunbury and a long season for KilmoreBig few weeks for Sunbury with Lancefield, Riddell and Woodend all in a row.
Love the kid, but no, he won't win the Bowen.
He'll poll reasonably well, but he's not even 18 yet and would have to defy 70-odd years of history to win it.
He's an outstanding talent and worth his weight in gold to the Tigers and wouldn't be out of depth at any level in country and metropolitan footy.
He's not that good Nicholls. He constantly runs forward of the footy. Though seeing him play the other week, looks like the coaching staff have tamed him a bit in that area. Very selfish and won't give the footy off first option.
Interesting to see Dylan Wright's clearance in to head back to the Kangaroos. Flew out to play cricket in England today didn't he? Whats the story?
Romsey FC on the recruit. Heard they may be signing an ex AFL footballer, not too long out of the game. Looks a little like a dual bowen medalist from Romsey. Holds claim to an AFL mark of the year. And has kicked a pile of goals the last couple of years. Watch this space!!!
another addition to an already strengthening league! Well done to Romsey if they can pull that one off.gary moorcroft?
would be a huge recruit if romsey could get morcroft, would b suprised if he left silvan thoughRomsey FC on the recruit. Heard they may be signing an ex AFL footballer, not too long out of the game.
