Scores from Clancy Reserve, Kilmore:

Kilmore: 8.3 51
Lancefield 3.10 28

Lancefield bitterly disappointing in freezing conditions. Had absolutely no structure moving forward and struggled to hit targets.

Kilmore played attacking footy all day and deserved the points

Spot on. Kilmore were more committed, more disciplined and had better skills all day.

Gaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy was well held by David Cornish. Only kicked 2.3 all day. Job well done By Corndog.
Spot on .
Wallan set up in defense very well , but could never have won the game with four extra men back .Gaaaaarrrrryyyyyy went into the middle at the start of the last 1/4 and did a great job.

Broadford 6.17-53 defeated by Diggers Rest 9.11-65 today. We kicked 2.10 in the first half before Diggers booted 4 goals in an impressive 3rd term after they lost a couple of important blokes to injury by half time.

We got to within a kick midway thru the last term but Diggers were very disciplined at several crucial stoppage situations late and got themselves a hard fought win. Thanks to the Diggers people who stayed around for a good while afterwards.

One thing that's been really good early into our RDFL return is how all clubs stay back at each others social rooms, great to see :thumbsu:

I believe Ruane was one of those lost Doona, who was the other?

He did. Romsay kicking 2 goals into the wind in last quarter didnt help Wallans fightback. End of the day, thats footy. At least we didnt get an injury and finished game with full bench for first time this season. Things might be on the improve up here injury wise.

Rockbank outplayed the cats for most of the day. Walker clipped the inside of the post with a couple of minutes remaining that would hae put the rams in front. Highlight was Dave Innella's miracle goal from the boundary early in the second term. Match was played in great spirits and both teams are to be congratulated on a hard fought contest

Was a great effort from the boy especially after the last two weeks the clubs gone tru and losing 4 players to injury by halftime..pity we couldnt hold on in those last few minutes.. But kudos to the cats it was a great game.

Off to watch hawks v roos this week in a do or die clash for hawks. Things arent panning out as they hoped and a few cracks have appeared from what im told. But i believe they have had it over roos for s few years now so hoping they will bounce back into contention this week[/quote]

Not sure whose telling you things NBF. Was another cracking game against Sunbury yesterday they always are. Hopefully a sign that things are starting to come together for us after a slow start to the year. Plenty more work to do though with the comp being as even as it is.

Looking forward to this weeks games . Two big games this week. Diggers vs Macedon and Romsey vs Sunbury . The Kangaroos need to get back on the winners list this week or they could be kissing finals goodbye. Diggers are going nicely at the moment and should take it right up to the cats.

Unfortunately for Diggers they may have to do it without there captain. It is not confirmed yet but apparently Sims broke his ankle on Saturday. As well as the others who are already out it could be a long couple of weeks for the burra.

Congrats on the win blue boys:thumbsu:
Hopefully it now gives them the confidence to string a few together.
Is the coach back playing yet?

Watched the game casually and everytime i was paying attention it was the coach Booker who had his hands on the ball or was involved in the play somehow...amazing how much of a difference he can make to the side and he is still no where near full fitness...hopefully the boys can take a lot out of the win on the weekend and continue playing with the confidence they showed against a very strong team in Lancefield.

Bad news if true about Diggers stars Ruane & sims but my sources tell me neither is as bad as first thought. May be offset by a couple of injuries to Macedon players on sat. Heard they only finished with 1 on bench and rockbank had none. Must have been physical clash. Any spite in it or just hard footy?

Great game of footy between Roos & Hawks on Sat in bloody near freezing conditions at Boardman. Was nothing in it first half but Hawks looked a much better side in 3rd and start of 4th quarter until roos made real challenge. Jim Hardwick outstanding and Ninga looked to have some touch back.
Looking forward to Cats v Diggers this week, just hope weather is more friendly.

yeah, someone said the same thing at the beginning of round 4, when diggers were 0-3, 5 on the trot, 4th on the ladder since that was said, there probably feeling a bit foolish now.

yeah i agree, not siding against you, just reckon writing them off so early would be a bit harsh. a defining month is ahead for them.

Macedon injuries seemed to be jarring type when hitting ground in a hard but fair game.

Well that's Diggers best starting midfield GONE. Struggling to think who'll replace them massive outs in the middle with a tough few weeks ahead.
