I also remember an old bald headed bloke kicked FIVE on kairnsy a couple of seasons ago!!!!!:D

Was that the same bloke who was running the Riddell reserves when they had that final quarter capitulation in the grand final? It was like they'd watched a DVD of Shane Watson in the 90s the night before the game. :p

Keilor Park Football Club - EDFL (B Grade) looking for a practice match, Seniors, Reserves & 18's on the following dates:

March 13 - our ground unavailable, must be away.
March 27 - ok to play at KP

Any interested clubs shoot me a PM.

Thanks guys!

Pretty sure Dave is heading up to Thornton-Eildon to play under former Wallan ruckman Bernie Hourigan who coaches the Boners in the YVMDFL
No doubt a bit of $$ for his travels. Good on him as he is a classy player. How would he go in that league doona?

Yep you're right there doona, corno is heading up there with a couple of other wallan lads. Should go well in the YVMDFL division 2. A change of scenery might get him up and firing again!

No idea what role Bernie has in his thoughts for Dave, or the other blokes (Galea???). Thornton aint the biggest ground going around and if Ryan Hall is still playing for the Boners, he is a ripper from memory with great hands so there mightn't be too many crumbs. A half fwd/midfield gig my be what they have in mind for Dave to help blokes like Hall, Creighton, Chapman who woulda been Thornton's goalkicking options in 2009.

Who else has left to head north then? Is the departures a reflection on Wallan themselves or the repore they have with the guy up at Thornton?

bite me nichols:eek: Was just starting to get over the night sweats!!!:D

Seems we're all on a similar page :thumbsu:

Thought about Gaary but of the 3 times I watched him in 09 only once did he play outa the sqaure - saw Mick Allen jag 5 or 6 in the wet at Kilmore a few years back, he did some freakish things that day :thumbsu:

When Moorcroft plays out of the square he is a freak, pretty much unstoppable. Man on man no one is this comp would come close to beating him, I think you will see him spend the bulk of the season in the square as I believe the Redbacks have recruited a midfielder that will hit him lace out. A James and Moorcroft easily the best 2 forwards (players) in the RDFL. Both should kick big bags in 2010 as well as bring the crowds. Lets hope the dick heads like the 1 Grand Final day 09 that thought he would be a hero full of piss and front Moorcroft after the siren stay at home.

I heard a strong rumour today that diggers rest have recruited very well so far. OK they ain't naming names like everyone else but they are quietly confident. Anyone get the dirt on names?

I wouldn't be surprised to see the return of Jose and the other boys, possibly recruit Dylan Wright after playing cricket for diggers this year. I'm sure the boys would be getting in his ear.

George, how are your boys looking at this stage you got any new names to reveal.

On another note, is the de registration policy for life, ( i think it is) Perhaps Riddell could be looking at an appeal to get Wadden re registered and back into a black and Red jumper. he has been training with them on a number of occasions.

17 days to go, and the rumours will be proven. Clearance time!

Don't think it has much to do at the Wallan end broman, all clubs actively seek players they think can improve their list and Id say thats what Bernie has done having seen these lads play before. From all reports Peddo and the boys at Greenhill Reserve have been fairly active in trying to bolster stocks - actually thought they did ok considering they were crucified with so many injuries this past season.

Just Cornish, shannon galea, boxtel and maybe one other have gone up there, i think they just really need a change of scenery for a year. I think Wallan have recruited really well up to this stage

Fair call then, hopefully Dave plays forward and is able to recapture the form he displayed when he was at Kilmore a few years ago.:thumbsu:

Wheels could be considered a recruit since he only played 6 games last year. :D and i know a few clubs out there threw lots of coin to lure him across but Wheels believes in where this club is heading and the culture it has. I have learnt not to get too ahead of myself about our potential recruits blues12. Last years "boom" recruits were nothing short of disappointing, as now we know they only came for one thing... $$$. Of course we had a couple of rippers like Bamford and Watkins but it fell away pretty quickly. I had an interesting read the other day, an article from '96 when our club formed. Then president Darren Weavell said he was pumped that players come wanting to play for the club, it also applies in 2010. It is fair to say that the players who have rocked up so far have indicated that they want to play for the club and that $$$ is just a bonus. Just comes down to the culture of our club I guess.

A quote made by Weavs from the article "I can't understand why people play sports like cricket or basketball for pure pleasure but when it comes to football, everyone puts out their hand." It was an interesting comment and although it was made 15 years ago, it is still relevant today i think. We have also had a few players come to the club and 'put their hand out' but I'm glad our committee appointed a coach that doesn't get sucked in by a player's reputation. Sproule's philosophy, if your coming for money then don't bother. If players are fair dinkum about a change and want to play for our club then they have to show that they are committed before remuneration is discussed. So blues12 to answer your question, we'll wait until training begins to see who is committed to playing for Centrals in 2010 :thumbsu:

The start of 2010 is the start of something special at Centrals with the man they call PIG opening his account as Coach u best look out!! Following in his father and his brothers foot step that his always looked up to over the years there can only be success for the future of PIG and the Centrals!!! And with PIG also being in peak condition and still a long way out from the season beware opposition PIG is the total package!
So bring on 2010 and hopefully one day soon in the future we see DEV pop down to training and share some of that nowledge with PIG and the boys!!!
Certainly no Matt Sproule though matey and in his mid 30's, young comp as he will find out. Good bloke though hope he goes well:thumbsu:

What would be your ladder predictions if young climas signed with macedon rather than riddell??????
does this mean Blade and Climas are the difference between 1st and 8th?
the talk a month ago was that the cats are so close to winning the big one, and now you are tipping them 8th? and i cant beleive you have three sides ahead of the tigers, especially sunbury who finished 8th last year

I believe that it is his opinion of how the ladder will end up and everyone is entitled to it..

I liked the Tigers last year, the way that Fitzy and Choate were able to bond the team to the common goal, it was the extra kick that was needed to go all the way, but the loss of Choate in 2010 should not be underestimated, it is a massive loss for the Tigers and they will be looking for Benny John to step up another gear as he did in the GF.
There is a lot of rumoured recruiting, so I will save any ladder predictions until those clearances start to come through.. But I will be predicting a slip from the Tigers at this stage, solely on the loss of Choate.
