Perhaps he was a late developer. The bloke is 6' 15" can jump & can kick the ball seventy meters without trying. Stevie Wonder could've seen his Footballing potential ! .............. & letting a champion game breaker like Tim Little WALK,..... well, that was just plain ludicrous & stupid !

&........ I know why HE left, so please dont trouble yourself with a response thanks.

Letting a champion like Aka walk or Fev walk maybe be ludicrous but sometimes the player thinks they are bigger than the team. End of the day every team have champions walk. More money, play at a higher level, play with mates, location - the list goes on. But when one door closes another one opens and if that makes the team better then those that left are quickly forgotten.

You've talked up Rovers performance Omni......... not sure how you get 3 votes if you get beat by 10+ goals and the person who got 2 was your opponent...

Great to see the Bombers extend their unbeaten record at home to 4 or 5 seasons ......

Coach Power would have been very satisified after the game!!!
been no rovers in rdfl for 10 years try sunbury kangaroos

Fish reluctantly left the Lions because he moved to Essendon in 2004, the same year he played every game in the one's except when injured (including the 2004 senior bfl premiership win). He lost his driver's license for 12 months at the end of the 2004 season and had difficulty getting back and forwards from Essendon to Sunbury, that was his sole reason for leaving. Once living in Essendon he played 2 seasons at Aberfeldie and 2 at Airport West as both clubs were very close to home. He was drawn back to Sunbury Kangaroos with the desire to play with close school friends.

Dont sweat it champ. Some people on here "Dont let the truth get in the way of a good story" when it doesn't suit the point they are trying to embellish !

There is an old cliche' pal that'll hold ALL Footy clubs in pretty good stead that goes - "Humble in victory, Gracious in defeat"......because........... Every dog has there day !
I dont believe the TWO players ever went head to head in the game on Saturday either champ ??? So thats why they BOTH figured prominently in my votes !

I prefer "never give a sucker an even break" ! They would have to be nervous over at Boardman...... wouldn't want The Redbacks to finish 6th. Also...... I never said the Big Fish was no good, he was clearly their best and I didn't think B. Allen was our best. I know Tall guys stand out but you may have want to look a little closer to ground....... I reckon the best in the papers got it right!

Finally BIGYIN...... if you live in the town spell it correctly..... ClarkEfield

Well when they play like Kangaroos and not like Rovers of 10 years ago.....I'll change

Still take issue with the Kangaroos there Cossie?? Playing like Rovers of 10 years ago is an uneducated and misinformed statement... Plain stupid I would have thought.. But anyways...

You seem to have taken umbrage only twice this year, both times when the Bombers have played the Roos. Yep, the Bombers demolished the Roos again on the weekend, yep, the Roos have plenty of work to do to ensure they can be competitive with the Bombers come finals time, but it is a bit early to be calling it just yet... :thumbsu:

Yeah touche' pal, I like that one too. :thumbsu:

Was very hard to find the Bombers best players (as it is most weeks) with all the rotations that go on. But there are always pivotal moments in any game where the contest is won & indeed lost & it is very rare that this occures for ALL four quarters. Having said that, the last quarter on Saturday was a "nothing" quarter, where the heat was outa the contest & the game was effectively over ! All the hard work had been done in the preceding three quarters. SO - My three "Riddell" best players (for what its worth) would have been -

3. Bradyn Allen.
2. Gerard Liddell.
1. Mick Allen.

PS. I may also just be the "Kiss of Death" too pal, cause ever since I mentioned Aaron James & the Bowen Medal in the same sentance he has played like stink ! Hope the big "Fish" has better luck. :thumbsu:

Melton South to host a crisis meeting next Wednesday night from 6.30pm about whether they will stay in the Ballarat Footy League or head across to the RDFL.. if the latter happens, it will be a big move. The next question is, will the Melton Bloods follow in their footsteps if Souths do come across, especially with both their juniors already in the RDJFL.. thoughts?

Very high.....
AJ did put on a great show for the crowd. Yellow card and threats at the crowd.

Were you at the ground? what was the yellow card for? and was he reported? if so what are his chances at the tribunal tonight? If he gets a holiday i would assume it will be forever, If so would anybody rate Kilmore as a serious finals contender without the Big Fella

kangaroos have won more games in the past 5 years than rovers had in 15 years so i think we are getting close to riddel

C'mon doggie I don't count how many games a team has won.... What I counts is senior premierships....

Rovers = 0 Kangaroos = 0

Would be interested to see what the fine contributors of our thread can come up with as their team of the year..

(I am certain to forget some, so may make amendments as we go, so don't jump up and down, name someone I have missed and I will consider and add as required)

Yes I was at the game. I think the yellow card was for disputing a decision. A good move by the umpire as the big fella was about to erupt. Just wasn't his day. Poor delivery into the forward line, and a very good match up from the Romsey coach made it very hard for him.I'm pretty sure he wasn't reported.

From what I hear thats not exactly true, BOG Keenan managed to kick five, three more than the big fella. I'd say the match up was more on the money.

Just from Kilmore i think maybe Trav Hede (Rov)) and Justin Collis (HF) and Todd Keenan (Wing) have had pretty good years as well...just a couple more names to throw in the mix guys

All added folks... But for any future additions, check the list of names above, even put a side together... If you can't fit them into your own team of the year, then there is no point adding them... I am going to start a poll shortly for each of the positions.. We will create our own line up from BF votes.... :thumbsu:

Most embarrassingly out of the names mentioned, all were thought about originally but one, Joeb Ploog definitely should have been in the original list...

Ash Mcnaughton should be close to top of the list:thumbsu:
