sunbury vs diggers should be a great game as sunbury won both games by less than 3 kicks this year

a couple of key turning points in todays game that i thought changed the game very early on in the third qtr.
no. 18 from lancefield (sorry dont no his name) gave a way a stupid free kick right in front of goal after the umpire had called a ball up, it wasnt the smartest thing and there was no need for it, especially when diggers were holding on with a slender one point lead.

the second was when same player 2 minutes after giving the goal away decided to kick the ball across the diggers goal to a 2 on 1 contest which resulted in another diggers goal.

considering goals where extremely hard to come by given the shocking weather i believe that was the back breaker for lancefield and gave diggers the momentum and they continued along nicely for a hard fought win, lets hope that the weather is a heap better for next weeks game:thumbsu:

shocking incedent today at rockbank in the reserves game with a kilmore player being bitten on the arm by a macedon player an investergation will be pending

i was interested to see that macedon had that meldrem bloke playing twos today. backward step 4 the club and individual i think. also i thought the tiges were ordinary tday and diggers rest outplayed them easy. i dont think diggers or sunbury can beat riddell either. if theres a dry day maybe sunbury are in with a shot but watching saturday in the wet they are too tall to win in the wet. i was suprised not to see any reports in the last quater tday too. that blonde number 11 for lancefield really let fly right in front of us. good luck to the 3 remaining teams in each grade

They run out of tucker oldie? . . . . . I did cop a text about something along those lines, fair allegation none the less

Alistair Meldrum? If so I thought Al had only played the one match in the regular season, so whats the qualification rules? Backward step Im not sure, Al's a great fella :thumbsu: he missed a fair chunk of 2010 after his knee injury in last year's HDFL decider and more importantly has the September experience to help his club to a possible premiership.

Every club still alive would pick what they deem as their best team - so if Al's available to play then no doubt he falls into that category.

Snuck out to Lancefield yesty and must say Riddell were mighty impressive in atrocious conditions. Thought they adapted well to the one handball (maximum) one kick wet weather rule and continually got the ball deep into their fwd line as a result.

Spewin it wasn't a dry day as I had been so looking forward to seeing Sunbury's big brigade in action, but on the flip side I saw Mick Allen again do as he did in a game at Kilmore 3-4 years back in similar conditions . . . . freak!!!

Also thought the Umps were doing a fantastic job up until I left as I was starting to battle to determine the two sides at times.

Meldrum did an ACL one year ago this weekend playing for and coaching Heathcote to their 2009 Premiership. Had a total reco one month later. Got back on the park and played 8 games for Macedon Seniors and 1 game in the 2's in the last couple of months. Not bad going. Perfectly legal. Why do you see that as a backward step LK? Were your team the losers? I would have thought it was an example for others who have serious knee injuries, and a demonstration of what determination can do if you want to play footy.

I wouldnt have said he really let fly, if your talking about the push n shove out in the pocket in the last qtr ?
I was right in front of it and it was good to see a bit of agro , were you near the pleasant lady all decked out in her diggers kit who wasnt shy in sharing her vast knowledge of bad language?
She kept us laughing for a bit

Congratulations to the Bombers and Burra for outstanding wins on the weekend which have well and truly opened up this years finals series.. The Burra are truly flying and the Kangaroos would be well advised to forget about Riddell and what they are doing and focus solely on the Burra.

The season is not done yet and this weeks group of games will be rippers....

Crock.. Irrelevant of what sort of player qualifies, the club is duty bound to play the best players that are available to the side. If a player qualifies and he wants to play, then play them....

Re: RDFL 2010 Season - 2nd Semi Final

diggers have size there skills are no where near good enough and not much pace apart from there younger players, lancefield have been in bad form of late but they will come back with a big win against diggers and my tip is that they'll go straight through and clam back to back flags

Finger on the pulse yet again rdflfootyman!

Any news on the state of romsey and lancefield grounds? I can't see the lancefield ground coming good for the granny. The whole oval was an inch under water on saturday.

I checked them both out today, Romsey not too bad at all just a bit wet around the boundary in some areas. Lancefield a lot better than it was on Saturday, but now we've just had a fair bit more rain !

Hope they both get better for the next 2 matches Real Mo Fo.

With score lines like these can sunbury put up a show in the grand final? IF they can beat diggers rest Sunbury Kangaroos FNC 5.10-40 def. by Riddell FNC 14.14-98
Riddell FNC 13.18-96 def.Sunbury Kangaroos FNC 4.1-25
Riddell FNC 11.9-75 def. Sunbury Kangaroos FNC 2.2-14

Lancefield is already improving. The rain after the game on Saturday settled most of the mud so the guys are pretty pleased. Lancefield losing also helps as the ground can be left alone for the next 2 weeks. Sun and wind today will also help.

if sunbury can get over diggers for there first grand final you will see a closer game if it is dry and hard ground

Well then we may as well give Riddell the flag now. I believe when they played Diggers it was Diggers 7.7.49 to Riddell 13.10.88
none of these sides will compete. will they?????
Grand final day can be full of surprises. and I am sure if Sunbury or Diggers make it they will be hoping to surprise everybody.

It has been a great year for Riddell football netball club.
Seniors & Reserves already in the Grand Final, 18s playing for a spot this week
B grade and C grade netball also in the Grand Final.
You have got to give credit to the whole Riddell club this year.

Thought you had to have played a minimum of 4 games in the Reverves to qualify for finals if your Senior side was out?

The ruling is you must have a played a minimum of 4 games for the club to qualify for finals in any grade.
Also you must not have played more than half the home and away games in an above grade to qualify for a lower grade. (reserves or under 18s)

heard a rumor that there might have been something to do with a stolen book from the rovers rooms on the weekend? might be some trouble ahead with the rovers and riddell guys.

Thanks Blues. Must be a few disgruntled Twos players at Macedon over past couple of weeks. Those who worked hard all year to get them into finals only to miss out when they got there.

IF Rovers get over the Burra!!! Hopkins is a smart coach he'll know what is required. One thing he will do is make sure his players get to the contest first....not just sit back and wait for the opposition to make the first move then react. I always thought players should be running to the ball not away from it, which happening alot at lancefield.

Noticed the rovers full forward didn't worry the stats men on Saturday...... he must of been injured.......again!

Why so personal all the time mate? Played for Riddell (not only your club) for over 5 years, part of winning and losing grand finals there, I have a huge ammount of respect for the club and the effort the past President put in to make it where it is now, yet you still have a problem, I really hope the club is around a lot longer than you mate cause you really do let them down by being one of there supporters.

I wouldn't stress too much about it pal.. Most of Cossie's posts are pure negativity toward the Roos, there is an obvious issue for whoever it might be. Personally I hope that others within the Riddell club don't have as much of a concern about what the "Rovers" are doing, if so, they might have some concern about them.. Maybe that is the reason behind the book going missing?? I would have thought that the convincing results they have had this year over them would have given them the confidence, but some of the actions over the past couple of weeks, well, who knows... :D

Not sure what his problem is mate, but I agree sure does have a lot of negativity built up inside.
