Again, I disagree, but each to their own.. What were the "howlers" that I missed?
The two in the back decisions were major blunders in my opinion. The deliberate out of bounds towards the end was not in keeping with the way the rest of the game had been umpired. I guess that is open to interpretation. I had quite a few other decisions both ways that I thought were dubious. Not denying it was a tough game to umpire though. Just thought some of them had an impact on the way the game was heading.

Round 12

Sunbury Vs Broadford - The battle of the Kangaroos, could also be the battle of who can stay disciplined the longest. Sunbury far too classy for the "other" Roos and should win comfortably at home. With the ground quickly deteriorating though, Broadford might be in the game longer than most think.
Sunbury by 40 points

Wallan Vs Kilmore - The local "rivals" face off again as the Magpies hold their sponsors day. Wallan has been very solid this season in accounting for games like this one and I would expect them to do so here, but the Blues were much improved in their effort last round.
Wallan by 25 points

Diggers Rest Vs Macedon - Tuckey and Ruane should return, so that will equate to a far more attacking Burra's side, on the inside they are as good as any opponent, whilst the Cats still have question marks in that area.
Diggers Rest by 30 points

Lancefield Vs Melton Central - The Tigers at home are a far different proposition to what Centrals faced earlier in the year. This is a big game for both sides, the end of year standings might just count on it.
Centrals by 10 points

Rockbank Vs Woodend/Hesket - Another huge game in the context of end of year results for these two sides, the loser of this one will be right in the mix for the wooden spoon. A ripping contest the first time around at Gilbert Gordon, but at home, I think the Rams can reverse the result.
Rockbank by 15 points

Match of the Round
Riddell Vs Romsey - The bombers will be looking to repeat the Round 1 result at home against the rampant Redbacks and put themselves in the mix for a top 3 finish, while the Redbacks will be desperate to extract some revenge on that Rd 1 loss. The Bombers lost Rob Henry early last week, while Mick Allen and Jarrod Silvester didn't play a part toward the end of the game. The Redbacks will welcome a couple more back this week, but will still be missing a couple from their best side. This one should be a ripping battle in the midfield in tough muddy conditions.. Two top teams, slugging it out old school style in the mud.. Yes please.. This will be ripping match!!!

IMS-You seem to be the man with the finger on the pulse. Was wondering how Blake Holmes has gone for Wallan, was a pretty handy player in the NFL before his knee reco.

Went and watched Wallan v Kilmore Saturday in shocking conditions, I was really impressed with the way Wallan played, even though is was really wet they moved the ball very well and are very well coached. I do think they can posh some of the top sides. Kilmore are a very young side and also played well pushed Wallan all over the ground just don’t have any targets to kick to up forward.

Agree with This is what Is said was suprised the end margin got out to 8 goals. Kilmore really lack forward options and they seemed very young compared to last time I watch them play. Went to the three quarter time huddle and the coach seemed less intense too, didnt try to pump them up was talking of little scenario's that affect outcomes of quarters and matches. Hope to get off work in time to go to Broadford on saturday its been a long time since I saw a match there, do they still run the gift at central pakr.

Loving the discussion of the finals system.. many good ideas thrown around.. I'm personally really happy how it is all set up.. I don't like the fact that team's get multiple byes through the finals series.. its nice to have a break but realistically, it's better to keep playing football and test yourself right through the finals.. youre more physically and mentally prepared and you're in game mode for that whole finals series.. plus as a spectator, you get to see the best teams battle every week.. I like the 3rd v 6th.. if third really want to prove themselves, they need to overcome the 6th best team in order to get a shot at a game that will give them a spot in the big one..

You've been very quiet Chris. Must be all that hard work drinking beers at the Melbourne local bars for the great channel 31 show "Top Drop"!! Love the black and red chequered headband!!

Did you see that wank of a 150m penalty against young Alex Desmond Cal? Fair to say the goalposts have changed a lot at kilmore over the past few weeks so it's all about trying to educate a pretty young list of footballers for the rest of 2012.

Central Park, them were the days. Ground is now known as harley Hammond Reserve in honour of the local identity who contributed a hell of a lot of the towns sporting clubs, harley may have also done a stint on the RDFL board last time the club was in the league (1977-1984) ???

Doona, are you guys missing the players that have walked out on the club? Some handy players, Gordon brothers, Kenna , Robinson.

Gee Broadford were impressive today!! Don't know where that kind of football has been hiding, but hope to see more of it. Burcul and Webb particularly impressive. On today's form, Wallan will be lucky to make finals let alone compete in them, Door side open for Centrals now.

Must say I agree with itsmyshow about Broadford far from the bottom side in the competition based on todays game. Saying that though I watched Kilmore last week and they are not the worse bottom side ive ever seen either so maybe it says more about the standard of the rdfl that these lower teams when on song are very capable. can a wallan person correct me if im worng but was there a threat at three quarter time of a early morning training session if things didnt improve in the last quarter.

It's obvious we're lacking in a few area's but it aint about that now. There's bugger all pressure on anyone because we are well aware of the list we now have to work with and where we're at so we will continue to put minutes into the young blokes and work in the best interest of the club going forward. As you saw first hand last week, we had 8-9 3rds lads double up to allow us to field sides which is what country (or should I say metro) footy is about in small communities.

Whilst I'm on here, can I say I thought our boys were exceptional for 3 quarters today against the obvious ladder leaders before Diggers opened us badly in the final 20 minutes an. Big thanks to all the Diggers people who hung back afterwards, and especially to I think it was Pete who was still there when I left.

Bloody rapt for Finchy at Broadford too. I would never have got into this part of footy without Matty asking me to support him at home 11-12 years ago, and as well all know it can be pretty lonely this coaching caper in tough times, so it was great to get his text tonight to say they'd jagged a win.

Surely Wallan wont be training at sparrows fart in the morning, dont they have a doo tonight?

Have to remember Wallan is also a very young team, and sometimes you have off days. I think they will make finals and on there day can push anyone just like Kilmore did for 3 quarters against diggers rest. Wallan have some guns running around homes, Galea, Keenan, Robbo on his day ha ha, j col, and boxtel.

Not sure about the 3 quarter time threat, but at Quarter time I heard the Wallan address and a comment that I have heard a couple of times from coaches this year that always leaves me questioning the decision to use a comment like that. The two times I heard it so far this year, once from Jamie Elliot at Diggers in the Romsey game was "we are playing a top side here, this final quarter is finals like, lets see where we really stand against a premiership contender", just don't think it leaves you with anywhere to go, especially if the result blows out. Gilly used "I want them goalless this quarter, that is our target" at quarter time, Broadford kicked a goal within the first minute of the quarter and nine goals in total in the 2nd quarter. The team has been set a goal at the break, it was shot down in the opening minute!! Where does this leave the players mindset?? In this case it was facing down the barrel of a 10 goal deficit at half time. In the Diggers case it was a 5 goal 3 quarter time deficit turning into a 9 goal loss..

I understand that the Magpies have a young list as well, but they are far better balanced than many of the lower ranked sides in terms of experience, with Robbo, Galea, Bell, Collis, Boxtel and Cornish, they have plenty of experience and on the weekend, Galea aside, it was the experience that let them down. Broadford lost their ruckman and backup ruckman by half time of the game and had someone rucking no taller than 6 foot, the Magpies dominated the hitouts but were smashed in the middle of the ground. Without Galea and Collis they would have been far worse off. Wallan have a better list than what they put on display on the weekend and just need to be better if they are to be a finals side. Round 16 against Centrals shapes up as a season definer, the Magpies will be counting their blessings that it is a home game.

Spot on, that game is going to be a ripper. Could Kilmore upset Melton this week as it is at Kilmore and they do play better at home? Or do they want to loose so Wallan could miss finals. Tanking might happen only joking.

Tanking could happen, if they were strong enough to win the game, on form, it's not tanking if you aren't good enough :D

Amazing how much things can change over the course of a week, when I did the Web TV show I had Riddell finishing 4th, Romsey on top and Sunbury finishing 3rd. The team that finishes 3rd this year (again) is in the box seat for a Grand Final berth, looking at the rest of the year and based on current form, I have come up with this.

Riddell
WWWWW
Finish 15-3 (3rd on Percentage)

Diggers
LWWWW
Finish 16-2 (1st game clear)

Romsey
WWLWW
Finish 15-3 (2nd on Percentage)

Sunbury
WWWWL
Finish 14-4 (4th and the long way home through finals, tough)

That’s my prediction for the rest of the year (yes, I think Sunbury can knock Romsey over at home).

Question: How many people are allowed on the bench in a Senior RDFL Game?
On Saturday I witnessed the following:
Regular Interchange players
2 identifiable trainers
3 water carriers all in the interchnage area
5 "coaches" - all dressed in black.

Correct me if im wrong smiley but u are referring to Romsey. Allow me to correct you, there is three coaches on the sideline for the redbacks and all of them are on the team sheet. 5 is an exaggeration. Not to mention Lancefields runner that spent the entire game on the field coaching. Also tended to abuse and start arguments with several redback players. Too the point he was told in no uncertain terms to pull his head in by quite a few of the romsey faithfull and get off the ground and stop antagonising our players.

I saw Diggers final term last week, Tuckey has been out for about 6 weeks now and will take some time to get back to his best, and the Bombers are flying!!!
