Why the two best performed sides of the season (Riddell & Diggers Rest) are scheduled to play their final on the most inferior venue of the three on offer completely baffles me !!!!!...... On second thoughts, no it doesnt !!!
Who is playing where?
Strange for you to whinge..
Oh here we go, surprising that the first rubbish accusation of this would come from you as well.
And the Rams will welcome Diggers with open arms, I'm sure Diggers committee, supporters, players will stick around after the game and have a beer. The ground is in terrific condition at the moment with plenty of resources for the day.Apparently Diggers are rapt about it, stay positive mate we were there for our last game and the ground was in ok nick considering the weather of late ..... as for the wind though![]()
Well, excuse me for not being afraid to ask the tough questions !!!
Please explain to me (& the rest of the RDFL footballing public out there) the rationale behind how the two best sides of 2013 season get rostered to play their final at the worst venue of the three on offer ????......Oh & I know & realise & accept why Sunbury is off the agenda as an option for this game.
Diggers Rest v Riddell SHOULD be played at the BEST venue on offer. They both deserve that privilege. They have earned that right ! And the best venue on offer is Kilmore......End of Story !!!
This Final SHOULD be at Kilmore !
Call me an old cynic, but please tell me it had NOTHING to do with the fact we have TWO board members connected with Rockbank that make these decisions ???......................Please ?![]()
It continues to stagger me how those with no official roles and information based on those roles can make assumptions based on the bare minimum of information.
Whilst staggered, not overly surprised though.
Yawn.
Sorry this is boring you - I thought someone may have a plausible reason how the fixture has turned out the way it has.
The 2 best teams are left scratching their heads while 3rd is high fiving anyone that ventures past Boardman reserve.
I cannot see the logic in the 2 best teams not playing at the best ground and right in the middle of the 2 teams. To reward 3rd place with a home final and send 1 & 2 to Rockbank is staggering.
Why not go the way of the BFL and all finals are home finals based on highest ranked teams. It rewards the club both on and off the field and cuts out the problem with the finals fixture. Only one game needs to be set in stone - the Grand Final venue.
If you had the option of finishing 1st or 2nd and playing at a neutral venue or finishing 3rd and getting a home final V 6 - what would you prefer? Give me 3rd every time - a win this week and Sunbury has the double chance and 2 attempts to make a Grand Final.
If you are referring to the BFL as the Ballarat Football League, then this statement is wrong.
Highest rank team will have final played in their region.
Ballarat based finals - no.1 option Eastern Oval, no.2 option City Oval.
Eastern region final - Darley.
Grand final - Eastern Oval.
Works well as Eastern Oval & Darley have good facilities and good atmosphere.
I still have nightmares about playing Finals at Woodend in ankle deep mud (2 years running).
If you are referring to BFL as Bendigo Football League, apologies as i do not know.
QEO hosts all Bendigo finals. Is that a recent change in the Ballarat league? I have watched finals at Sunbury when they were the higher ranked side.
Yeh I agree with you Riddell blokes, all finals should be in at one venue ..... Kilmore![]()
As apparently I make all of the final decisions you will have to ask extremely politely.
