No surprises there with the recent rain.
They've had to relocate games for the past 2 seasons due to the state of the ground.
Is there plans in the pipeline to fix the ground at all?
That is very funny, would you have made him coach if he had played two games......Selected on reputation there pal?? Cam Woods has played 1 game this year!!!!

That side looks well balanced, 1/3 side is from Sunbury.Great on you for having a crack, mate. It's a hard ask. Jesse Shephard has spent most of the year up forward.. close to the mark though.. would put Alex Shipard in his position across half back.. substitute Cam Woods with Ti Cuffe from the Sunbury Kangaroos.. have only seen Diggers once this year so the cases for Cat's and JR would be good across the backline without over thinking it.. Romsey have had too main injuries this year to key players..
Dawso is a star when on song, but I'd take a fair stab and say that Tessari and Robbins have been their two best players this year and if Dan Sahlberg wasn't given the job in the back pocket, I'd move Shiphard into the back pocket and move Tessari to a back flank..
Mister versatile Matt Darby can play at either end.. awesome choice up forward..
If Dawso didn't get the job at half forward.. might press for Anthony Long, although he has played limited footy.. may throw in the likes of a Mitch Gaunt there..

Lol mainey!
Riddell $2.15
Diggers $2.80
Sunbury $3.25
Romsey $7.00
Macedon $12.00
Lancefield $16.00
Looks right but tight.
Not doubting that for 1 second or any of your post. That is not what I found funny.Would walk into ANY side in this competition and anyone who thought otherwise is kidding themselves.
Fenton before hall ???????
Gilbert Gordon oval is closed from the 1st jan 2014-1st jan 2015.I heard they may not be playing cricket on it this year as it is getting work done to it.
Might throw a bit of bias in at this point and say that Tom Mainey is the most underrated player in the competition, not making Team of the Year repeatedly over several years is a crime... Again this year he should be in the side. In terms of the Rams, good to see that you have Jake in the side Chris, and Shaun Wilson would give it a nudge as well.
I agree with Tessari, from the games I have seen from Romsey he should be in the side and just because Davo hasn't bagged a ton this year, doesn't mean he isn't deserving of a spot in the forward line either.
I would also have Todd Podolczak from Rupo as a certain starter.
I thought long & hard about big Baz'........whats he played, 6 games maybe ??? A third of the season. No doubt he is a class act & miles above the rest.........But does he (a part time player at best !) deserve a spot in our team of the year over a player that has played ALL season ???................. I choose NO ! Sorry Baz', not this time.![]()
Don't post much on bf, but agree with Gav and glad that he has an opinion. If you don't agree put down your thoughts and is love to hear what others say because the bloke is the best backman I have played with. And like you I have played enough footy also.Seems a bit strange to me reading your comments about mainey ims????? Almost common knowledge that u and yeendy pick the team of the year yet u make out its a crime someone hasn't made it????
on another note there has been a few players mentioned in this team that im fairly sure have missed many games and are down on previous form. Ill draft up a side shortly from what ive seen, heard and has played enuf games

Good win by Riddell and stitched up a top 2 spot - but came at a big cost with losing Darby for the year.
ShoulderWhat happened to Darby? Sounds like bad news for the youngster.

I am sure sportsbet will adjust. 1st time that I have seen odds you can bet on with the rdfl. Diggers should be favs.Might have to update your odds, Lancefield can't make it now, Rupo and the Cats have the last 2 spots in the 6 but will depend on the final round as to where they finish. Cats have Wallan away and Rupo play Diggers at home. Would expect Diggers to get over Rupo, but Wallan are a big chance over Macedon. Would think which ever team finishes 5th would fancy themselves a huge chance to beat Romsey week 1 of the finals. (Melton are still a mathematical chance but either Rupo or Macedon would need to be thumped by 200 points)
