Just out of interest was thinking of playing in this league next year so thought id check out the tread and look at the posts over the season, and i must although i havnt been to game from reading what has happened especially in the finals there is no way in the world that i will be playing in this league next yr. Rocks being thrown, family members abused what sort of people attend these games and how is this allowed. As for the AJ incident, abusing umpires is not accepted however the umpires should be controlling the game to the extent that players should respect the umps decisions and for any player to be abusing an ump means that fair decisions have not been made and as a result the game gets out of hand. sounds like there are a few problems in this league with behavior and drinking at games

his behaviour on sunday at kilmore, was disgusting simple as that! who charges at an umpire! hits sumone in the crowd! i understand that he cops alot of **** from the crowd but he bites back at them n this encourages the crowd to get into him more! **** id love to be a man mountain and tell people in the crowd to " get on this side of fence" these stupid scare tactics are useless! im dissapointed he got suspended for so long! but his behavious was terrible and then cracking the "sads" at tribunal, hes a grown man acting like a 5 yr old! hopefully this decision doesnt prevent high profile players coming to the RDFL because we wont to make this league stronger! but in the future how bout high profile players with a bit of class and no anger problems! he should just concentrate on the footy! then he woodnt have 2 worry bout the d ickheads in the crowd! n they are d ickheads! and he gives out just as much as he recieves on the field! thats that!

your right it doesn't sound good in some aspects, unfortunately people always talk about the bad, the league has infact moved forward, unfortunately on 3 occassions this year the guard has been let down, and things got out of hand.

and as you said molly99 it may have only been words but what sort of an image does it set for the league and it players. james should have accepted the original ban on the chin and moved on, he has no one else to blame but himself.

This incident was always on the cards given recent history of mob at A.J. games that coupled with the provocative thread posts before game would have led me to believe that any forward thinking R.D.F.L. official would have possitioned the nomadic security people where they were most needed, BEHIND THE GOALS ! Thats where I was to watching the much hyped clash of 2 titans going at it. Must say the stocky bald umpire did a great job, reporting umpires appeared to fall into bad intransigent habits, grandstanding by over reacting. Guess now they got their 15 mins of fame. He should have got 6 for chargeing at him and 2 for language {maybe]. Tribunal wobbley, well who knows ! But that panel should NOT have heard it, should have gone up on another night in front of slightly less compromised group. Also hope career tribunal member {with rodent nickname} did'nt sit on case after seeing him view game. Dont think you can be objective and fair doing that ! Tribunal has a very tough but important job and should be seen to be doing that job with integrity through just and fair outcomes not what appears to have transpired here, a knee jerk career ending crucifixion sentance ! Great games of football today boys to go into what should be 3 great grand finals. In the under 18s Romsey were the likely victors and that they were. The reserves was a great game of footy, only 2 goals the biggest margin until the last quarter when the roos came out firing, stretching to a 7 goal difference at 1 stage then riddell got a couple.35 points the dif. Now the Roos go into their first grand final in history against their biggest rival club, Diggers Rest, This will be a fantastic display of football and cant wait.
The seniors, what can be said unfortunately for woodend they let the game go, 7 or 8 goals up in the second 1/4 should have seen them hang on but this was not the case, Diggers came with a flurry just before the break showing that the game was to get very interesting. The lead was woodends until late in the last, 2 minutes to go diggers down by 2 goals and came hard. The siren blew, now into extra time, from the start Diggers got the first, then took control, woodend appeared to have nothing left.
Congratulations to Diggers on the win, 2 sides in the grand final is a great acheivement for any club. What will happen next week will the churchies play?
I cant wait for next week GO ROOS!!!
