Yeah Woodend played a sensational game of football on the weekend, they ran hard they attacked the footy in numbers and won stpages, we got smashed Yes! Not because James didn't play or anything like that we were flat, extremely flat! We didn't do the team things, thats as simple as an explanation can be! Woodend would have beaten any side Saturday!

We wouldn't want to have been beaten at all never mind 98 points, but a saturday is better than in 3 weeks time! Classic example is Adelaide got smashed by West Coast couple weeks. We will bounce back, no problems, no excuses why we lost, Woodend were awesome! end of story!

Well said roo. Honest, accurate & you copped it on chin. I watched match on sat and tend to agree. Woodend were very good but you guys were flat after 1/4 time and will be better for the wake-up call. I think a few of roos boys might have been getting a bit ahead of themselves so probably a good loss to have. James will help but not make the difference if midfield gets so badly beaten.

It is great to see such a humbling but truthful comment Trueblueroo, you're not the coach are you? And I couldn't agree with you more Footyhead18-you sound like someone who knows his or her footy. I know this is not the AFL forum, but i'd like Ants 22 opinion on this, who also seems to be clued in all things related to footy. I was talking to a great mate of mine the other day and he mentioned that Gavin Brown was the most courageous player he has ever seen. He was a brave bloke but i'm sure i saw him use short arms on a few occasions, a bit like Josh Hunt on the weekend-Being a Collingwood supporter what do you think? I promise that’s the last A.F.L comment I make.

Woodend played fantastic football 9 players into the side showed that the week off in the second part of the split round helped give them a slight advantage. as romsey and the roos played a extremely hard game the week before and smashed the crap out of each other. 5 players out of that side didn't help. We all know injuries are never an excuse the roos proved that earlier in the year just had a very bad day. like someone said woodend also had a few missing. Still to come back into the roos line up L McInerney, Edwards, Niki, Walsh, Welsh, Yarwood, Salm, James plus a couple others that i cant think of. 4 of those onballers 1 backman that provides drive and we all know the forward. Riddell at home next week will be a big task with the side that played on sat, hopefully a few of the names will be available and give the roos depth.
Well done woodend, well played and won well but as stated it could have been alot more.

Nah im just road kill from woodend's drive by, not coach! Notice i didn't drop names, because any senior player on the weekend from the Roos knew that these players were out and we thought we could give it a crack, yes they would have helped, but we were sh1thouse. Full stop!

Far to many players thinking that we had made finals, and someone was just going to walk up and hand it to us! Not going to happen, being honest, good sides regroup and we will, i have no doubt! I think most people now have an opinion that yes the Roos are a good side, but we need to prove it and bounce back. Rd 17 makes thing's that little more interesteing once again!

well well well, hopefully some of these roo's supporters start respecting and valuing my opinion after saturday's performance!!!

Trueblueroo, no woodend would not have beaten all sides in the comp given saturday's form, they were able to dispose of sunbury easily which was expected, but are still a far cry from sleeping giant status. As for the roo's, it has begun! Another touch up by riddell this weekend will throw a cat amongst the pigeons.

is it not funny how oldmelburnian28 would get it right when it's come to the result and then make a d i c k of himself in his comments after. Woodend were great on the weekend the best football they have played all year and with 4 players to come back Woodend are looking very good.
remember om it is better to let people think your a fool than to open your mouth (or in this case write down) and relieve all doubt

Woodend were superb, they outplayed the Roos all over the ground, In EVERY position, disappointing performance and one that should be hurting the guys that played in the game, the performance was just plain unacceptable!!!!!!!

Its funny you should say that woody because I recently had a conversation with a few friends on a trip away who did not rate Browns courage, they were fools . As for the Hunt incident I am yet to see it but from what I heard it was a shocker. But as you said this is an rdfl thread so no more afl from me.

I'm not trying to a s m a r t a r s e OM but out of interest who do you follow in the RDFL. I've looked at some of your previous posts and cant work it out definitively- i'm guessing Woodend or Riddell.

RDFL Rising star nominations: Rules
Under 21 at start of season.
No restrictions on number of senior games.
Must have played RDFL under 18s.
Good question...

My Nomination would be between Matt Stacey, Jubes and Peter Robertson... Question though... The must have played RDFL under 18's rule excludes a player like Trav Hede, only because Kilmore don't have 18's... Could we make Trav and exception?

Roge3 As long as the player has played some footy at RDFL under 18 does not mean it has to be this year. Don't know all the ages of these guys but a starting list of,
Janner & Hayes D/Rest, Robertsons Glenn & Peter Riddell, Else Cuinik Sandle etc W/H, Ploog Ellery Baddeley Scott S/R, Carroll Burlak Romsey. It is a hard ask but WHO would win a rising star award under the rules stated earlier. Sorry to clubs who don't have 18s but its hard work for all clubs to put teams on the field and this would be a plus for those that do.

halffullonfence how would james wright from macedon go and what about the son of a football legend chris climas? his son james seems to go alright.any truth to the rumour that halffullonthefence was falling off the fence due to a rather large drinking seesion 2 weeks ago at a local establishment ?

trav hede has never played under 18s in RDFL so he is ineligible he played under 16s though! wood interleague count for under 18s?

Think the young guy from Macedon who broke his leg would have been right up there too... Was having an outstanding season....

Cam Watson - Sunbury Kangaroos
Warren Else - Woodend/Hesket

Is Cuinik too old??? If not, he wins.... :thumbsu:

Have heard a rumour that Luke Barker will not be available for the final's at Woodend. If this is true would be a huge loss to the side as he has been in great form of late. Can anyone from hawkland confirm this? And would they have the player's to cover for him if this is true? Hope this is not true as the game's that i've watched he has played very well.:thumbsu:

OM 2 horse race would one of them be diggers why do you not tell us where your loyalty belong to. The other horse would be Woodend, would it not?

Maybe you will replace him Jockstrap. You are a proven goal-kicker after all.

mrr2; Wright a good player under the rules would still have 3 years at it think the kid is only 17 started seniors last year at 16? Climas will be a gun but is taking it easy in 18s hope his (legend father your call) is not calling the shots and keeping him back, a talented kid like this SHOULD be playing seniors week in and out like Stacy, Wright, Kilty etc

As far as falling off the fence not true but so called mates did have a crack, split rounds should be blown up.

well halffullonfence i have it on good authority that the legend of the game is holding his son back as he wants the boy to add to his already impressive trophy cabinet. seems to me this man is living off just how good his son could be!

kilmore players under 21 have not played any under 18s in the last 3 seasons! so does this actually make them ineligible? thats special? i wood think so? but i wood think out of all the 18s that Peter Robertson wood b best! the kid is a gun....thoughts?
