Am I correct in saying we can have a crowd of 1000?

If so, change centerals & macedon to Macedon and away we go.

The RDFNL welcomes today's announcement by the Victorian State Government and the easing of restrictions which now allows community sport for both seniors and juniors in metropolitan Melbourne and well as the announcement allowing crowds of up to 1000 people at regional sporting matches.

RDFNL Seniors;

The RDFNL Senior Competition will recommence this weekend. Rounds 7 and 8 were lost over the three-week lockdown with the Queen’s Birthday long weekend a Bye across all of the RDFNL Senior Competition. After consultation with the RDFNL Clubs, the RDFNL has decided to re-schedule Rounds 7 and 8 so that no home and away matches will be lost. That means that Round 7 will be played this weekend and the season will recommence in the same order as originally scheduled. There has been a Fixture change for this weekend however, with Melton Centrals originally due to host Macedon, that match has been swapped and now Macedon will host Melton Centrals at Tony Clarke Reserve this Saturday. The Round 15 match has also been swapped and Melton Centrals will now host that match where Macedon were originally going to. Thanks to the Macedon FNC for accommodating this Fixture change at short notice which now enables all four Senior matches this weekend to be held at regional venues which means that these matches can be held with crowds of up to 1000 people.

With the re-scheduling of Rounds 7 and 8, some other changes had to be made to fixture dates and the Finals structure. The RDFNL Finals Series was originally going to be a top 5 Finals Series played over 4 weeks, to accommodate the two weeks lost, the RDFNL GF will be moved back and a week and the Finals changed to a top 4 Finals Series over 3 weeks. This change has enabled the RDFNL to keep an 18 Round home and away season where each Club plays 16 games, 8 home and 8 away playing each team twice.

Yep credit where it's due, you were correct they were 100% to good

You guys started well, but at 1/4 time it was just about over.

Lots of good contributions from Wallan, but especially Boyall, Mahoney and Stewart. Grindlay was a constant danger as was Mannix when he went forward. Only 1 goal for Perri which was a good sign moving forward.

Was impressed with Sonogan and Grabham for you guys.

Steve Boyall is a star

Grand final set for either 24th or 26th of September.

The season will also be extended by one week, with the grand final now to be played on either the AFL Grand Final public holiday on Friday, September 24 or Sunday, September 26.

Wood be a great idea having it on the public holiday. something different. not sure the sunday after the afl gf wood be the way to go though.
i think the rdfl need to be congratulated on the way they have gone about there busness since goin alone. they seem to be making good decisions an not rushing or paniking in covid times. great they could have crowds an it shows some of the benefets of being a stand alone comp.

Friday just makes a whole lot of sense. Be interesting to see what they do with finals. May well all be at Romsey.
