Similar situation for me - not anniversary, but we've booked to have a child-free night in a city hotel on GF day.
We will be booking somewhere too. Its not something I can really change as its important especially for my wife. I'm confident the Eagles wont make it there from 5th but you never know.

The other thing is that beimg a night GF there will be a lot of people around clogging up the restaurants and bars too.

Pfft, I'm chronically single so will be able to do whatever I want grand final day. Suckers.

Eating a tub of ice-cream whilst watching reality shows then crying yourself to sleep?

Im far too invested in some Love Island US couples atm, so this is sadly a very real possibility

So I've barely played any games over the past couple of years but now that I have the new Xbox on preorder I am absolutely dying to get it. Might fire up the old Xbox One and play Red Dead again or finish Fallen Order.

What are the new Xbox consoles selling for? When are they being delivered?

I'll regret asking these questions

$750 for the Series X (disc tray) and $500 for the Series S. All the preorders are sold out now though and while they are supposed to be released November 10, there is an unsettling amount of uncertainty around when they will actually arrive.

I fired up the old gaming console a little while back too, having not done so for the past "couple of years" ...

😬 The thing still works, so that was a nice surprise anyway.

I like the user-interface for on my PS for apps more than the smart TV anyway. Think it's great for a media centre at least and then the games are there too of course.

Much point trying to set up an old dinosaur PS3 as a media centre? I've considered it. Currently it's just a dust collector.

It runs Netflix and Stan. I put mine in the kids lounge for them and they find it easy use vs the TV remote, but it's slow AF. They'll get the PS4 when the PS5 arrives next year.

Speaking of Stan, I watched No Country for Old Men last night.

Only a handful of novels I've read twice in my life - that being one of them - it'll probably be the first books I've read 3 times pretty soon.

My all-time most channel-surfing-stopper movie. So good.

You gents might be disgusted to hear it's the first time I'd seen the movie, and even then it was only on the back of hearing you talk about it and seeing it appear on a list of all time greatest thrillers.

I googled the ending immediately, and wasn't surprised to read a lot of conversation and debate around it. Whilst it didn't end as I suspected, and perhaps had become accustomed to, I thought the movie itself was excellent. I had a couple of moments of shitting myself, which sometimes you only get once with movies like this.

More just glad to know you got to enjoy it!

Did you Google to see if he killed her? Coz he checks the soles of his shoes for blood on the way out of her house.

Or the meaning of the dream?

Meaning of the dreams and just generally how the movie wrapped up.

Regarding that spoiler I assumed he went through with it. That seems to be the general consensus?

Right.

Yeah I the way I took it was that the dream was Ed Tom coming to terms with his mortality and he wasn't much longer for this earth.

And yeah think it's pretty clear in the book at least that he went through with it.
