Was shocked that despite professing to be a TMNT fan, my wife had never seen the original movie when it popped up on Netflix recently.
We then proceeded to watch all three. Back in the good old days when stuff was done with animatronics rather than mocap suits and CGI.

Dunno if it's referenced in the show, but I watched Stand By Me on Friday. Still as good as I remember it from when I was a kid. Downside is now that I'm older I get the childhood friendship nostalgia which is depressing.
