Yes March in Perth is when I really get jealous about the weather. Used to love spending nights outside the Becks music box and other PIAF related free events. Melbourne will be windy and cold half the time

Many parts of the world measure their seasons astronomically, to line up with the solstices and equinoxes. So for instance, our summer would start at the summer solstice on December 21st and finish on the autumn equinox on March 31st. But it's easier just to use calendar months, so that's what we do.

Yes, that's quite prevalent in the UK and in some other parts of the world. The main reason for the usage of the start of the month is the Bureau of Meteorology found that for in many locations in Australia, the warmest 90 days of the year started from the period beginning 1 December with the coldest 90 days of the year beginning on 1 June, so it made sense to allocate the seasons that way.

Obviously the seasons do differ for many locations across the country, but certainly favours those areas which have a more temperate climate.

On the flip side does that means September if meant to be the second coldest month? Generally it feels like September especially late September can produce nice warm weather

Not sure what weird corners of instagram you’re visiting but I’ve had it for over a decade and have never seen anything like that on there.

I had to put extra magnet locks on mine coz of my 2, they immediately found the flour and sugar and dumped them all over the floor.
