It hasn't been a disaster, but in the current run it hasn't been very successful. Scharenberg has been ravaged by injury and will have played just four games by 2017, and Freeman played 0 games due to injury before running to St Kilda, converting a Pick 10 into half of the trade required to secure James Aish two years later. We managed to take Langdon and Marsh late, two steals, so that evens out some of the pan. As much as I like Shaz and have belief he will be a champion once fully fit, he will have only played four times in three seasons, and if injury strikes one more time, that might be it.
Pick 6: James Aish would be the obvious choice however he ended up at Collingwood anyway. Rewind, and I'd have gone Christian Salem, especially after the departure of Heath Shaw and Maxwell in the long run. He's played 22 games at Melbourne, due to injury troubles as well, but has shown he will be a great player.
Pick 10: Many different options but in the long run due to the midfielders we recruited, I'd have gone Cam McCarthy, especially after his 2015 season. He's played 21 games in his career and kicked 36 goals, but looks like he'll be a quality key forward for whatever team he'll play for. Would be a great forward partner to Darcy Moore, and I believe Collingwood would have taken him had Darcy Moore not been a F/S selection the next year. Patrick Cripps is also up there, but I don't believe he would have been able to succeed like he did at Carlton in such a squeezy midfield. Ben Lennon would also have been a decent attacking option as well.
