It gives us the same power as when an out of contract player requests a trade. Which is none. You deal and get unders, or risk the PSD.
It's not none. There's way more power than an unrestricted free agent which is the point. If you don't think there's more power being able to trade then I don't know what to say.

Would be absolutely ridiculous, assuming we have the space in the cap, not to match. If we have the financial capacity to, it's a must. And I would have thought Fagan would have the same view given that everything else he has said so far has been toward vehemently standing up for the club, even against the AFL.

The provision was put in there for a reason, by the AFL and the AFLPA. I'm sure it would have been a key negotiating point when everyone agreed to FA.

I would be very disappointed in the club and its processes if it didn't match, unless it has a very very very good reason not to (that I am obviously missing).

Hearing Woosha speak yesterday or the day before didn't fill me with great confidence (again). His line was basically that the club will move on, players come and go.
Woosha just throwing out the standard line

I think Dangerfield has quite clearly changed his views on the number one priority being success. I think it comes second to family now that they've both had a think about what family might mean over the next few years.

It was three years he was in that head space, it's not worth brining it up as if people aren't allowed to change their perspective.
Dangerfield's family have been nothing but supportive of the AFC and given how close they are I have no doubt that his family would want nothing more than for Paddy to be happy

Like I have said before, I have lived away from Adelaide for almost 15 years, I earn an Executive level wage which is not quite a his as Dangerfield's current contract and with tho I affords me to put things in place to stay close to home, I fly my parents regularly to Sydney and I take my little girl back to Adelaide 6-7 times a year.

Danger to has the luxury in putting in place mechanisms to stay close with his family

I remain confident that Danger's decision will come down to a football decision

Not sure how many of you are a member of the Adelaide Crows Pride Forum on fb - A guy called Rick works for the Herald Sun, normally shares Crows related articles the day before. Now I know that not all News paper articles are to be believed, just sharing it more for the interest of others.

Why would a real estate agent at Airey's Inlet be selling property close to Simonds Stadium? The two locations aren't exactly close.

Also, the fact the property was sold mid last year means it basically has no bearing on his current contract situation.

Oh my god. Geelong had Danger stiched up 18 months ago. Time for an AFL investigation!

He didn't even want them to match what the Crows and North were offering. Blues offer was something like 2 years and 300K per, he wanted something like 3 years and 400K per to stay and they said no.
If they matched the Crows offer he'd have stayed. The fact that the Blues lowballed him showed him he wasn't wanted. If they were not so cheap initially the would have had a chance.

He may well have sold the property to Danger. An Adelaide hotelier sold Dangerfield a share in a key Eastern suburbs hotel, too, last year! If you're earning squillions why wouldn't you buy a house as an investment for your retirement? Of to chance clubs? Either or... Point is it doesn't prove anything.

Question: under the RFA rules, if the Crows match the offer, is Danger obliged to take it and stay? Or is preseason draft still an option? Not that I think he or Geelong would want to go down that path.

We wouldnt be the ones in the position of power.
We'd have more power, that's the point. If we didn't match we'd have as much power as if it were unrestricted free agency, if we did match some of that power would swing back. There is not "no power" in being on our end of the trade. I understand it's distributed unevenly but it's better than none.

He's not leaving.
Why would you leave with the likes of Lever Atkins Knight Cameron Laird Hartigan M Crouch B Crouch Grigg CEY and Kelly ?
Then we have Sloane Jacobs Walker Smith Talia Lynch Jenkins Jacobs Henderson.
We have "old blokes" like Thommo VanBerlo and Podsiadly. Not to mention ROB and fetta Cheney , we are in a good place.
I'm sure i have missed others , but you get my drift. If he leaves us for The Cats , he IS an idiot.(which he is not)

Someone (can't remember who) posted a very similar yarn about a real estate mate who sold Danger a property. Actually it may have been Choppy. Where's he been lately?
