Not only that, his ability to answer questions in the media calmly and professionally all year without ever tripping up or giving any sign at all of his intentions is pretty much unprecedented.
In my personal opinion, the way he has avoided the question of next year many different times and always bringing the subject back to this year and right now, is pretty telling. IMO, this IS a sign of his intentions.

Crows confident Dangerfield will stay

"We love Paddy and the way he's handled himself this year, in what's been a fair pressure cooker for him with a lot of media scrutiny on him," Van Berlo told Channel Nine's Footy Show.

"I know he loves the footy club, I know he loves us as teammates and he's going to give it his all until the end of the season."

A bit torn about this. Ultimately, if I wasn't a Crows supporter, I'd believe that Dangerfield will, and should, do what's best for him.

But if he loves the club and his teammates, surely he wouldn't want them to suffer the humiliation of having another key player walk out on them after what they've been through with the likes of Tippett, Gunston, Bock, Davis, etc.?

And the sad truth of the matter is that if Danger walks, it will be a humiliation for the Crows in that it further reinforces the perception of Adelaide as a feeder club who cannot hang on to their players.

Admittedly the players generally hold to the same line, but Sauce saying ""We have full confidence he'll be there next year." and Eddie's quick response does suggest either a few either know (doubt many would, otherwise it'd leak like a sieve) or they genuinely don't know, or Danger has told them he genuinely doesn't know.

Either way, I think the key to the "definitely gone to Geelong" stories is the added "would be a shock/would be blindsided if he didn't" get out aspect. Were I a journo paid to seem like I had my finger on the pulse I'd play the averages and say he's gone.. and add in the "but" to save my arse later if need be.

One thing is for sure...If the players knew he was gone they wouldn't be saying things like this.
Hard to believe if Danger made up his mind last year that players like Sauce wouldn't know

You need to grow up. I don't mean that nastily, but in terms of accepting Free Agency. Rugby League fans have had to live with their players announcing they are moving on mid-season for years. Do they sit them out? No. You don't sit your best player out because he will be somewhere else next year, that is just ludicrous.
I understand what you are saying but living in NSW I have come across many NRL supporters who hate their own system. Finding out your team is not really a team anymore is tough to take.

No it doesn't. If can only be able ho they are playing right now, today. Danger has shown how a professional should go about it
But I go back to my point of mixed loyalties. If Danger was planning to leave for Geelong and we were to play them in the Finals series wouldnt this put everyone in an awkward situation?
If he were then to play poorly..........see where this is going?

My definition would be the 22 in the best form who give us the best chance of winning the game. And right now, that includes Dangerfield. I've seen nothing in his performances this season that has ever given me cause to doubt his commitment. Whether he's staying or going, it's pretty obvious that right now the number 1 thing on his mind is winning finals and, hopefully, a premiership this year, not where he may or may not be playing next year.

As for the Tippett comparison - it's pretty unlikely we're going to run into Geelong during this finals series, so it's not really a valid point. And even if we did, I still think you pick the 22 players based on how they've been performing in recent matches, not how you think they MIGHT perform in the next match. If it was round 23 and we were out of contention, maybe. But right now we are up to our eyeballs in this thing, and we should be picking our team with an eye on winning finals right now, not on list management issues which can wait for the end of the year.
Totally valid point....It's the whole point. You cant select your best 22 if one player is suspect. This is not to say he wouldn't play at his best but the problem would be if he had a quiet game. Questions would be asked about his loyalty and I dont think the selectors should take the risk.

Both Eddie and Sauce have switched clubs in their career. Wonder if Danger has sought advice from either of them.

Eddie was much loved at Carlton. Much like Paddy here.

Oh I don't disagree. It's a shit system. But it's the system the players want. Bitching and griping about it just makes us miserable.

But that's what I'm getting at - you don't know he's going to have a quiet game, and if he does that doesn't necessarily mean it was because he wasn't giving it his all. I think by going down that road you're second guessing your team and your player.

The other side of that equation is what if the team lost by less than a goal while arguably the best player in the competition was cooling his heels on the sidelines? There would be a hell of a lot more questions asked then about the selection policy than there would be if he played and had a quiet one. I mean, theoretically, if that situation arose this week, who would you bring in for Dangerfield? Grigg? Lyons? Ellis-Yolmen? With all due respect to those guys, I'd take 80% from Danger over 100% from any of them.

Think Eddie would say, "Well they didn't love me enough to match the offer"

Interesting to hear an advert on the radio promoting the Alma and it just had Sloane and Tex in it.
Does this mean Roo is leaving with Danger?? :p They've always shared the promo stuff around. Wouldn't read anything in to an Alma advert. Wouldn't surprise me if Dangerfield kept his stake in the pub even if he left.

To be fair Rory does pretty much all the Alma promos.

What is interesting is, I've never heard Mark Ricciuto do any Alma commercials.
