"I'm sure it's a family decision for him and he’ll make the right call – I don't think he needs me to try and persuade him to stay or to go,"

"It's up to Danger, he'll make a decision when the dust settles."

Get the feeling Tex that the decision was made many months ago.
Typical PR spin. Would hope that Tex tells Danger to rack off and not let the door hit him on the way out of town.

Will we rig the B&F to stop him winning?

Or will we rig the B&F to make sure he wins if it helps our FA compo?
Depends on the message the club wants to send. If Danger makes it known before the medal count he is leaving, would we (as fans/members) rather:

A) Have Danger win and forever see his name in a list of club champions knowing he walked out that same year; or
B) Make it known that we did not allow a player who abandons the team to claim one of it's highest honours?

Keep in mind that the club has already set a precedent with B...

What really concerns me is all the comments like this. "It's a family decision. Well understand if he goes. "

That tells me that we won't match. How could we say that and match unless there was an under the table deal already done with geelong and afl.

I expect loyalty to his team mates, I believe we've made massive changes to try and address the clear and obvious flaws we had in our club, so there should be light at the end of the tunnel.

If we still had Trigg/Sando, I wouldn't blame him one iota for leaving (and I am concerned he made a decision when they were still around).
The club has started to make massive changes. There's still plenty to do, Dangerfield not re-signing should be a terminal failure for many still at the club from the old days.

I'll also add again that I and everybody else in this thread have no idea whats actually going on.

Watching the news, Tex looked resigned to the fact he was gone.

Yep, seems like Paddy has treated his teammates the same as his fans -- keeping them in the dark until he decides to make a decision. You'd think that such great mates would talk about these things occasionally. Of course it's all just media spin, no-one knows truly what goes on.

If they are still nobly sticking to the company line at this stage, you have to wonder whats the point in keeping up appearances now?

Exers,
TBH I feel sorry for Danger and I see parallels on how Tony Abbott was complaining about the feverish media climate regarding the prime ministership. Not that for one moment I was sad to see Abbott go but social media really does have the ability to generate a lot of pressure on people, Danger has player half of his contract under speculation and with little option but to play the poker face. It really isn't appropriate for players to be signposting their exit midway through the season IMO and it doesn't at all release the pressure on them.

I answered I was not sure about Danger going and I still am not but I am fairly resigned to the probability that he will go. Thanks for 154 games of service Danger- I'm sure you will remain good friends with our players and staff even after leaving as have many other ex-crows.

ROAST- media running a 1 and a half news story based on nothing more than speculation and zero developments- do some real journalism you twats.
