disagree, Judd was certainly the better player, but given the current standards of the game they are both certainly the same tier, and that is the top tier.
Saying Danger is a tier below brownlow medallist, norm smith medalist, premiership captain Judd is being very kind to Patrick.

Well this is going to boil over....the club or Danger are going to either deny the whole thing or come clean. Needs to be done in the next couple of days.

I understand the Brownlow/B&F potential awkwardness, however the media are about to go into a frenzy.....and us the supporters are the ones who are going to feel it.

I think the club have known for a long time and they both have kept it quiet, agreeing to what he would say to the media, so can't really hold that against him.

On to your last point, we haven't thrived when those players have left, we have misses the finals a lot.

Danger is going to be badly missed by us, not only was he our best by a long way, he was our most consistent by a long way. We need to load up our midfield big time.
notice i said survived/thrived?
thrived even though rehn/mods left, survived when roo and macca left :p

Robbo and Gerard are saying on 360 that you can take it as fact that he told Noble 5 weeks ago that he was going leave at the end of the season. How on earth could they possible know that as fact? Sure, you may have some sources, but there is no way you can take this as fact yet. Even Bucks asked 'are we just assuming this?'

I think he is gone too, but there is no way anything is fact yet.
You do realise Whately is an "insider" at the Geelong FCyeah???

Providing we now believe Caro's article (I certainly do), the interesting part is going to be the timing of the announcement.

The AFC has the chance to set an example by leading the way in changing the attitude to free agency. There will come a time when players will be able to announce part way through the season that they will be leaving for another club, without fear of the kind of backlash they'll most certainly receive in present times. It won't be soon, but eventually it will be the norm.

Crows need to be ethical and mature about this, as they have been, if reports are true that they've been aware of PD's intentions.

Then we match, and ****ingwell take Geelong's ball sac as a trade, and their first draft pick for the next fifteen years, or PD ends up playing for Carlton.:)

If the club doesn't make a statement to either confirm or deny the article tomorrow, that surely means he is gone doesn't it?
If thats what it takes to convince the last refuge of the gullible I guess the club could do them the courtesy of making an announcement to put them out of their misery

I remember Roo could barely walk let alone run in his final game. It is sad when players reach the end of their career, we were blessed with some outstanding talent that played their entire career with us.

300+ games at one Club deserves more credit and recognition for both player and Club. To get there you need to play what an average of 20 games a year over 15 years, its pretty hard to achieve.

Surely it's going to be more awkward for our club and members watching him sit at our table laughing and putting on funny faces and the usual stuff at the Brownlow than have him not be there.

Live cross to Dangerfields house in Geelong? Maybe Kurt and Jack can join him for the night.

Isn't that what Caro said as well. It wouldn't surprise me and kudo's for it being kept in house if true.

Rucci's theory on why the announcement will be delayed:

"But the secrecy — that is clearly frustrating Crows fans — is being forced by the AFL wanting Dangerfield to attend the Brownlow Medal count in Melbourne on Monday as an Adelaide Football Club player."

I don't think we should stress too much. Paddy didn't bring us a premiership and Friday night proved we are a long way off the best still.

If we muster two extra first round picks, a fit B Crouch and a Menzel / Aish (hopefully both), things could look bright pretty soon.
