One of the more frustrating aspects of the AFC over the last decade and a half is that we pesist with really average footballers for far too long.
Might have something to do with persisting with average administrators ;)

You build a quality organisation top-down.

Times are a changing.

We'll never know, but I reckon we build our list from the middle. I look at the 4 year deal for Mackay in the absence of a list manager. The first thing I think is, "who am I going to blame". It's got to be Noble. I'm near convinced that he is the architect of why we've been so ordinary.

I never said he won't. I said the comments were dumb, not his ability.
You missed my point, I don't think he's a great player and you said "any comment with Jenkins in it is more stupid. So I said he will make it - hence making it a stupid comment.

Worth listening closely to.
Im curious what you took out of that? the fact their will be announcements soon? it could be Douggie signing on and the things they're going to do to mark the 25 years of our club. I didn't take that to mean Danger and Sloane will be signed soon. But maybe I didn't hear it the way you did?

I think Noble has proven to be a very good negotiator, but I think you are right in that maintaining the list should not be his responsibility.

I think how the process works more than the "headline grabbing" there will be announcements.

There has been a fair bot of criticism of the process. But I think that under Fagan this process has come under scrutiny, yes it's only an impression. What I took out was: "Stick to the process. Deviating opens up room for mistakes". Am I reading too much into it?

No I did get that bit too. He also did say things are where they should be at the moment (talking about player contracts) but whether that was in regard to Danger or the other two or whatever obviously its impossible to say. It does infer that the contracts are actually progressing but again it doesn't mean all the players contracts are that way. He also said theres no bad news which suggests Danger hasn't told them he's going although as we know that means diddly.

"We are in a process and we will stick to it".

Contract negotiation speak 101.

Not sure how anyone could look in to that interview good or bad. Stock standard.

I'm not reading anything into specific players. You have to get the way we deal with players (in every aspect) correct if we hope to give ourselves the best chance to retain them. This may not have been the case with Tippett and Gunston. i.e. If Gunston wasn't happy at Centrals, the club should have known, and if they did they should have moved him.
