Danger said he wants to say, obviously if he hasn't put pen to paper by around mid season it is unlikely he will irrespective what he says, free agents who have put off re-signing do not have a good record for putting pen to paper after the half way mark.

I hope he stays, I really dislike free agency despite it being beneficial for my team.
I think he's gone. Been saying it for months.

Pardon the interruption.
Just wanted to say that while the PD stuff is all well and good, and who knows what will happen, I and most of the GFC board thought the PD in Cats colours was distasteful, rude and just plain unnecessary.

There is enough speculation out there without an "neutral" media broadcaster getting involved at a non professional level.

You guys have every right and should be pissed about that.

Cheers to a good year.

Thanks. We should be pissed off but we wont be. We don't like to rock the boat.

Two seconds on Google could have saved you from being so transparently and publicly incorrect.

Noble was list manager in 2011. He did those trades. He is interviewed constantly about them, and in the interviews talk about the support provided by Rendell and Ogilvie in advising on recruitment.

Rendell was recruitment manager. In no reality does the list manager report to the recruitment manager.

You've been wrong about this previously and a number of people corrected you. I'm not sure why you persist with this.

Unless you have a link that states something different - the first two pages on a simple Google search contradict you.

I'm willing to agree with you if you can come up with something, but you couldn't last time either.
All we need know is for him to state Joyce was paid twice for the trifecta of repetitive wrongness.

Interestingly, when you google "Noble afc 2011 trades", you get a series of articles interviewing Noble about his 2011 trades as list manager - and links to BigFooty posts where Cleric is denying that Noble was list manager in 2011.

Think you're over reacting a bit. This is these guys job and they would cross paths a lot with each other.

Maybe. I'm not saying it's a hanging offence.

Also, when you've got as many trophies as most of the Geelong senior players have, you can have a BBQ out on the oval after the game for all I care.

My gripe is that we've achieved nothing. Bartel and Selwood have earned the laughter. We haven't.

Mike,

The old admin didn't like to rock the boat....

Already had us challenge 1 of the AFL's decisions.....

AFL comes out and says our first NAB game won't be streamed (amongst other game).... Fagan gets it done. I have no doubt if our old admin was around, there is no way we would have seen that game

Sure, the new admin has no "runs on the board" but if you can't be excited for whats already happened off field and you continue your negativity, then i just feel bad for you

Of course i'll be much happier when and if it brings on field success, but we're trending the right way!

Slippery,

You're normally spot on with your observations, but i feel you have missed the mark with the criticism on this one. Yes, you mention its not a hanging offence, but they are human beings who like a laugh with their mates. Its not like it was a regular season game where we were just pumped by 10 goals +. I'd be pissed if i saw that!

That's a fair call.

The problem is I've seen us do it in games for points. There seems to be a "mutual respect" thing happening with us and a few other teams who routinely have the better of us. When the guys you're joking with are all three-time premiership players, there's nothing mutual about it. It's them having us right where they want us.

The fishbowl scrutiny in Adelaide of players forced Tipppett out and WILL force more players to seek the relative anonymity of Victoria that has more press but 10 teams.

The hype on Dangerfield re-signing is fuelled by radio fiveaa for ratings and listener feedback & debate.
Because FiveAA effectively only talks SA sport they run out of subjects to talk about .......the actions of certain radio presenters is cringeworthy and amateurish as they try and beat up subjects like Dangerfield.

A perfect example was Rowes attempt to create a debate on the pick of Lever v Cockatoo ......absolutely cringeworthy and a slap in the face to Lever

If i was Lever i'd get out of Adelaide as soon as i could ......and more will follow !!!!

Well I guess Walsh has cut ties with Hinkley. Have heard Walsh (might have been Hinkley) say that the friendship will need to go on ice for a while.

Do people really take 5AA or the radvertiser seriously though.

Would be amazed if any player read or listened.

I think Noble has been far from a good negotiator. With Tippett he started the trade with the Swans offering pick 23 and White, 4 weeks later after saying that wasnt good enough he went to the AFL to lodge paperwork to trade Tippett for pick 23 and White.
He couldnt get Jon Giles to our club twice, missed out on nearly every name he has gone after (Polec, Edwards, JC, Gibbs etc).
What we need to do is not just put guys in positions because they are next in line, but go after the best in the business. Noble has found his way from forward coach to list manager.

The fishbowl environment also generates a lot of extra income for guys like Dangerfield. Considering how much media he does I'll be pissed if he cites it as a reason for leaving.

Make no mistake they have always created the sports agenda and opinion in Sth Aust

If They came out and said Dangerfield will stay ......i'll suggest most would relax and there would be no debate

However it is FiveAA that actual has created the fear of Dangerfield leaving and continues to fuel the fear simply for ratings

They are an absolute disgrace and the worse ally the Crows have .......they have & will be the cause of players leaving Sth Aust & the Crows

Yeah and Tippet took less to get out

Make no mistake .....the media scrutiny in SA over the concussions & future in football of Tippett was in no doubt the straw that forced Tippett out ......not any dislike for the Crows

This is ridiculous. There are more comments/articles about Dangerfield coming from non-SA journo's and commentators then there are from SA based ones. The hype around Dangerfield is that he's seen as a potential top 5 player in the competition, he's out of contract, and he's Victorian.

Bit of perspective please !!!

All they do is feed guys like us. If they said all is well, let's not talk about contracts they will take care of themselves no one will listen.

Once season starts proper it will dial back a bit.

Once more issues come up during season focus i agree will turn to them as Dangerfield subject is done to death

Bit like Essendon ASADA case most Vic public is sick to death of the subject

Cheers, but the least of AFC's issues right now. We are more concerned about stopping blokes like Mitch Clark tearing us apart.

Is FOX an SA media outlet because I'm sure Danger would have loved the super imposed picture of him in a Cats jumper on the Victorian Geelong scoreboard.
