I didnt claim to have "objective evidence" . All I said that IMO he is gone, based on what has happened with Free Agents in the last few years.
What I mean by "objectivity" is that, when I take my AFC hat off and compare Paddys actions and what he has said thus far to a Frawley, a Buddy, a GAJ or a Betts. I come to an opinion that he is leaving!

Tell me something, do u think Rance is going or staying?

I love my club, some say too much. We are much better with Paddy, but no one is bigger then the AFC.
And tbh I have alot bigger issues in my life atm, than trying to make myself feel better about Patrick.
You said you were looking at it objectively, as if it was beyond reasonable doubt that he was leaving because he hadn't signed by round 2 of the year his contract expired. You make out like every player that isn't signed up by round 2 is leaving because their actions are the same as Frawley, Franklin, Ablett or Betts. That's ridiculous and it's not objective at all because most players don't leave after not signing by round 2.

What would you say if you hadn't made up your mind? I would probably say "I haven't made up my mind". What would you say if you were leaving? I would probably say "I haven't made up my mind".

I don't really care if Rance is staying or going but if his decision was based on a performing side, probably going by the end of the year (based on my ill-informed assessment of Richmond as a club). If it was based on money then he might stay if Richmond have any to throw, if not go if a club throws more. If he wants to remain in Melbourne because he's settled there he might settle for less money at Richmond, or elsewhere in Melbourne if he decides to leave the club. If he wants to go home he might accept lower offers from Perth based clubs. He might love the RFC and the decision is based on that but trying to get what he thinks he's worth. He might be trying to have a good season to earn his $. There are so many variables. Nothing is black and white. I think he will stay but that thought is a million miles away from objective with all of those variables.

Absolutely, he'd look like a massive hypocrite to join Cats/Pies/Blues/Dees if success is the only thing he wants.

40% us, 30% hawks, 20% cats then 10% other.
You've got to take into account that the success story, or the potential thereof, can be sold at just about any club he goes to. Even the Cats, the statement will be that they are well-resourced, have a premiership winning coach, great system, exciting youth and are transitioning their list for another few years around the top.

Can you compare his actions to Cloke, Wells, Gibbs, Hodge, Petrie, Cooney (when a FA), Griffen?

There has been well more FA's that have stayed than that have left. Take the 2014 RFA list from March - (http://www.afc.com.au/news/2014-03-11/list-of-2014-free-agents):

David Mackay (stayed); Bryce Gibbs (stayed); Ben Reid(stayed); Heath Hocking (stayed); David Mundy (stayed);Todd Goldstein, Lachlan Hansen (stayed); Shannon Hurn(stayed); Shaun Higgins (left). That's 1/9. (11%)

Of the 48 UFA's , 17 retired, 27 stayed & 4 left. 8%

So, only 8.8% of FA's from 2014 moved.

From 2013, http://www.afc.com.au/news/2013-07-18/full-list-of-2013-free-agents, 68 free agents, 12 left (8 UFA, 4 RFA)

Of course, this doesn't factor in anyone signing just before these lists are announced, nor does it factor in the new CBA.

4 RFA's moved in 2012.

Rance is a UFA, so probably similar to Frawley. The club must try to sign him before the end of season. With an RFA, at least we can match.

Mate your not a chief footy writer! You are not being asked to stake your reputation on it.
While on here on an anonymous forum for football lovers and fans. All I have said and I am saying is that if I look at the most recent cases of FA's,
FA's that are highly rated and not spuds, if there isn't much action by the said Free Agent than, they are going. Simple!!
And before anyone says Gibbs, at the very least everyone was aware he had recently bought a house in Melbourne(minority share in a Pub is not the same as a house), so it suggests some sort of commitment to at least staying in Melbourne rather then going to his most suited teams in SA.

Mate, are you taking the piss? Look at the players you have put up! other then Gibbs, who is in the same class then Patrick Dangerfield, Buddy Franklin, or to a lesser extent Frawley?
Cloke always said he wanted to stay, but was holding out for more money. He never said " I have not made up my mind"?
Griffen showed class!didn't he?

Mundy is a massively important player for Freo (offered 800K by Gold Coast). He put off talks reportedly in Feb, and signed in July.

Goldstein is arguably the best ruckman in the comp. Hurn is their captain now.

Griffen stayed with the Bulldogs, when he could've left as a Free Agent. His actions, whilst under contract, are different. It's not relevant to a free agent conversation. What if Tex falls out with Walsh at end of 2015; will that change that he signed when a RFA?

Pretty sure Danger owns the house he lives in (with Jake Kelly talking about Paddy as his landlord).

I'm fairly comfortable with where it's at,” he said today ahead of his 200th-game milestone against West Coast on Saturday at Patersons Stadium. “I know my management team are working hard behind the scenes for me.

“I'm confident in time a resolution will come.
“There's lots of factors that go into the decision.
"There's football orientated and family orientated, so all of that is being weighed up at the moment and we're just going through the process.”
That was Mundy on June 24.
The club announced the deal July 1.

Just because "I'm happy to stay" doesn't get said, doesn't mean the player is on the out.

Fair points you make mate, I still don't consider any of those players as highly rated.
having said that, Mundy is playing on a team who the year before played in a GF! just narrowly loosing. Also its hard to judge plays from WA, nor you or I would be so sure about their situations, and Mundy's situation was nowhere near as much news as Paddy.
Hurn, I wouldn't know much about him, but he had a new coach from a successful club, he might have been feeling something was cooking.

Goldstein great player but again, North showed they want a premiership, they bid hard for other FA's and maybe he felt they could fulfil that for him. Plus no one of the bigger clubs would have payed as much as North would have been able to.

How do you know Paddy owns his house? and if so when did he buy it? Maybe he got it at the end of 2012, the same time he made his feelings public about Kurt Tippett.

Understand this, I pray he doesn't leave. But he very well might and IMO is, I wonder would did you think when Roo, said there was a 50/50 chance of him staying? Imagine that, an SA legend, business partner and club board member, he has not sounded that positive either.

A quick google is all that is needed really...

The story is from 2012 and they had purchased it a few years before that. He has always housed the other 'younger' players in the lower section of the house and refers to it as the 'performance centre'.

Everyones assuming there's pressure. Seems to me Danger and the club are handling it very professionally. Can't see any handwringing from where I'm standing.

Alex Rance is the in form defender in the comp. Why is there less scrutiny on him? Oh that's right, he's a Victorian potentially leaving the state.

Actually Rance is a Sandgroper, his old man Murray played for the Weagles...
