1. Club standards/culture
2. Development programme
3. Individual talent

That's the order of most important factors in a player's success.

Heard that. I'm tempted to listen to AA a bit more... hate all the advertising though. Anyone else been listneing in this year and can endorse it for the evening trip home?
I find myself listening a lot more since Bone left!
Having said that Rowie needs to go, he is no longer "comic entertainment" Just find him, no longer suited especially when there are serious discussions and so!

I find myself laughing at the amount of times Rowey goes on a loud 5 minute rant on any topic, strongly picking one side of the argument, and then an impartial observer eg. Bicks or a caller says "Well that's not right" and he caves in and agrees with them, discarding everything he already said.

He's harmless but I cringe when they have a serious guest on.

Did anybody see him on Sunday show Footy SA or whatever with Hutchy and Basset on 9? Kept on tapping and patting Bassett. Hutchy told him to leave him alone. Weird unit.

Conversely, Bicks can make it listenable:)

He isn't afraid to disagree and has a sensible and importantly an informed perspective

One of the few commentators whose has recent insight and can articulate it
Really hope it is Bickley and Kane Cornes next year. Would instantly turn into a quality program with balanced opinions, sensible discussion and no over-the-top crapola.

I remember on one of those Footy Shows they had the kicking competition, where there was a big target and players had to kick the footy 15-20m or so

Rowe was sooo bad at the skills it was embarrassing. He had one kick and realised that he was way out of his depth. To deflect attention he started hamming around when it was his turn, eg running right up to the target and blasting it from 1m away. Trying to look as though he was taking the piss but really just trying to hide how terrible he was.

It's the same with his media work.

The larrikin carry on, the loud over-the-top "boofhead" act with the sooky la las, funny names and voices is a defense mechanism. Gets trotted out when someone with brains questions one of his opinions or shows up his lack of football knowledge. It's basically to take people's attention away from the fact that he's just not that clever.

Now - the loud, bubbly, enthusiastic, colour man stuff is fine and has a place in media. But in small doses to break things up, not three hours worth.

That makes sense.

Yep.

How has he still got a job?

Seeing both Bass and Rowe next to each other made me think that Rowe resembled a wider, condensed version of Bassett.

The way he was poking and prodding Bassett just didn't come off right. But I guess they have NFC and Crows links and they get on well. Don't want to be rude but he's better suited to Radio than TV.

I think I will be alone on this but I like Kim Dillon

He's good at hosting, is fair to both clubs and most importantly calls out crap when he hears it. Usually from Rooch and Wildy

If it was him, Bicks and a Port person I'd be ok with that. Don't mind Kane. Not Ginever
I love Dillon. Great sense of humour, has some balls, and sticks to his guns. Not afraid to have a crack at local players and coaches either.

Just to follow up, Bicks used the term "gone the way of the dodo", Rowey thought he'd used another word and was a bit confused. Has never heard of a bloody dodo, guy is an absolute maroon.

Not alone. I like him because he belts Rucci about his petty articles that are designed to niggle Crows supporters.

Kim seems a good fella, his brother Gary is a ripper bloke - so if they are cut from the same cloth I'll give him the benefit of any doubt.

More to the point - why hasn't he signed then? They're working out his pay rise when Danger let's them know he's leaving.
I'm sure Danger not showing his cards makes list management quite annoying. They've probably earmarked a certain amount for him and built the rest of their potential deals around that, but since they officially haven't started negotiations with him don't know if they'll need to find extra $ elsewhere to keep him around.
