You have articulated exactly what I would I have liked to have posted. 100% agree on this.

The turnaround at the AFC has been dramatic since Walsh took over and even since the sad tragedy it is very plainly obvious that he has set the foundation of building and achieving success.

Dangerfield wanted success and this was basically this was his sole motivating variable in deciding which Club to play for next year back in late 2014 and early 2015. At the time of making these comments we were a top 9-14 team and the Cats were a kick or so away from a prelim final. At this stage in July 2015 it appears we could land in the 8 with the potential to go to W2 in September and potentially the Cats may not play finals and will lose a host of players who have hit their expiry date coupled with the fact that they need the salary cap space.

Dangerfield started talking about family well before the Walsh tragedy, which does make the decision interesting what he decides.

I do agree with many posters on here. He has made his decision already, how long ago I dont know. But IMO the decision was made as soon as he started talking about the desire to be close to family is when he reached his decision.

I do not believe he has not made a decision as yet.

Apologies for the previous post .. Still a newbie !

I am starting to become more and more cynical about Dangerfield re-signing and suspect we are being treated (if that is the word) to a stakeholder management exercise inspired by the desire to avoid accusations of being another Tippett etc etc.

I understand he went out on a limb during that fiasco with a few comments and I think now where things are at this needs to be managed to avoid "brand" damage.

This is also now even more complicated given recent tragic events.

I hope to hell I am wrong about all of the above !

I had one of those light bulb moments this morning under the shower.

I've been reasonably confident up until recently that Danger would want to remain a one club player work towards a flag with his mates etc etc

However the light bulb turned on this morning. He was saying at the beginning of the season that whether he stayed or went depended on the performance of the club because he wanted to play finals. Now that we are a chance to do just that and Geelong look like they won't, that argument doesn't hold any water and it appears that he has just chucked that reason for delay out the window.

Now he never ever mentions performance - it's all about family (footy club family) v family (blood rellies) and as we know blood is thicker than water. A totally different reason for the delay in decision but one that has some validity whereas the original one doesn't.

What hit me like a ton of bricks is that Danger will change reasons just to defer any decision until the end of the year - because he has already made up his mind to leave.

Hopefully I've had a mental short-circuit rather than seeing the light but that's my latest opinion. The words I'm hearing now are Ablett words and Buddy words - and we know what happened there.

If I'm wrong - thank god for that.

so for what its worth which im sure is not much I heard from a guy at work that danger signed with us in the last couple of days for 3 years.

this would mean he signed just before the 5AA interview which I find pretty unlikely myself.

when I brought up the interview all he gave was a pretty uncommitted "that's just what I heard".

Scuttlebutt most likely and he pretty much admits it too. just putting it out there.

Does anyone know which players partner contacted Sando to advise him of Phils passing? I believe Sando is back at Geelong writing articles for a local paper. On telly he also commented about still remaining good friends (or something like that), with some Crows players. He was very close with Danger at the time, but I don't know if that went belly up before he was sacked as coach? Anyone have any more I for regarding this?

This is how im feeling. The "wait til the end of the season" genuinely undecided bit doesn't wash imo.

This is one of the biggest decisions he will make in his life. The idea that he will somehow block it from his mind and then will in the weeks between the end of season frivolity and trade period, for the first time sit down with a pencil and calculator to review his options, i find absurd.

He must know that his non decision is disruptive, there have been numerous occaisions where good news would have really helped the club, and it affects how the club prepares for the future with regard to list management. If he were staying hed have signed by now. In my opinion, he hasnt so he wont.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. This is on top of the fact that he's never said he wants to stay and that there was a raft of signings down at Geelong a couple of weeks ago. This tells me they know what is happening now. I was of the view that he would either sign by this week or he is gone. I'm changing my vote to gone.

How has the club had enough? They all looked very united and committed last weekend. The only supporters that seems to have had enough are the desperate flogs that post in this thread all day, every day.

Go outside, take a walk or just get on with your life. We will all know the outcome when Danger is good and ready.

Stop acting like an entitled and spoilt child.
Is not entitlement wanting him to make a decision that will enable the club (and the supporters) to move forward, one way or the other.
