Yeah true.

But their are definetly some who I could easily wish harm on, players like Anthony Banik(No. 1 Draft Pick), Richard Lounder(another No.1 Draft Pick), Adam Houlihan, Aaron Fiora for not picking up Pavlich and then being an absolute dud of a player while Pavlich is awesome.

I am still an absolute passionate fan though, it is just easy to hate/wish harm on some players that we have had in the past.

I heard Anthony Banik being interviewed by KB on SEN a couple of weeks ago. KB said that he thought Banik was going to be a great player but it was an injury that curtailed his career. If that is true, there is no reason to hate him.

Why hate Fiora as well, it is not his fault that we were stupid enough to pick him instead of Pavlich. We traded him for Troy Simmons, so it wasn't a complete loss.

You would be a lot better off hating players that played for other clubs or even better hating players like Ottens that defected to other clubs.

It disgusts me to hear a so called fan of the RFC wish harm on any player that has worn the Yellow & Black with pride & spilt blood on the field of battle in the quest for victory.

I've got one thing to say....

You're Not worthy :thumbsd:

tell me the last time tivenfail spilt blood

still thinking?

yeh me too because it never happened and never will

I hate Fiora because he was a ********en(sorry about the swear but it is so damn annoying) dud, yes it isn't his fault he got picked up by us but the fact is that he didn't show us anything to have justified that pick.

And on hating players from other clubs, I hate many players from other clubs don't you worry, Ottens, Fiora, Farmer, Lloyd the list just goes on.

And what injury could have been bad enough to have never A)Been able to show his talent and B)Never been able to play out his carrer.

poor form to wish injury on a player. they are real people.

Yeah real people who play for a team which we pay good money to see perform and over the last 25 years there hasn't been much performing.

you can hate fiora because the squib was a rake when he left us and packed on 5kgs for stkilda, still cant play though :thumbsu:

ive got time for crap players who you know will atleast try their best, when they dont thats when you can forget it anything goes

We get it PLSC - you don't like Tivva. Give it a rest. So boring.

:) Anthony Banik was a first-rate guy, who did plenty for the club off-field and to a lesser extent on. True to say his career was derailed by injuries and we never got to see the best of him. ANY club in the situation we found ourselves in.....that is, with the number one pick in the draft....would have slected Banik. Have no doubt this was not the case with Richard Lounder, who ...while KB won't admit it .... was an absolute shocking pick!!! The trouble with Banik was to a great extent his body had fully developed by aged 16 or 17 and he had been used to playing against fully grown men from age 14 or 15. So there was no devel;oping left in him by the time he turned 17 or 18 when he arrived at Tigerland. But he was steady enough, just not spectacular.
Though I can relay one story about him from when we made that night grand final v Essendon out at Waverley in 93 (?) "Macca" as he was known was left out of the team to play Essendon. The guy broke down when he was told of the news and was consoled by a former player, who assured him therev would be other chances to play in grand finals at Tigerland. Banik couldn't acccept that there would be (and he was bloody damn well right). But the guy seriously and literally bleed, sweated and teared yellow and black, but the ol' body let him down!

I hate Fiora because he was a fuken(sorry about the swear but it is so damn annoying) dud, yes it isn't his fault he got picked up by us but the fact is that he didn't show us anything to have justified that pick

Using that sort of logic you must hate every player that was drafted that didn't make it...

Hate is a strong word and honestly it's an emotion that is wasted energy.
Ottens and Fiora are just players who are at another club. I don't waste my time thinking about them. They're just the same as any other player who plays for the 15 other teams.
Ottens chose to leave and I can understand why people might not think too highly of him. I just don't care about him. Full stop.
Fiora got moved on by the club. Had some talent, but had a pea heart. all the beep tests in the world can't tell you how big a guy's heart is once he's crossed the white line. He's just a struggling St Kilda player to me now. That's it.

I hate Fiora because he was a ********en(sorry about the swear but it is so damn annoying) dud, .

listen pal, your anger is misdirected, seriously, the problem there was the cluster $%# in selecting him ahead of others...Blame our recruiters and coaches.....alarm bells should have rung when Port adelaide left him out of the GF side after starring at different times throughout the home and aways...wasn't fiora fault

Turn your hate into love and lead a much happier life. Personally I love Ottens - he gave us plenty of good games and two first round draft picks, and has given Geelong nothing but grief (apart from round 1 2005, which I choose to forget).

And I love Fiora for giving us Troy Simmonds and for getting Grant Thomas to say that Fiona would be a better player once at a quality club. I suppose Fiona may still end up at a quality club one day (as a waterboy), which is more than will ever happen to Thomas.

... I don't really love Fiora .... and just quietly it hurt me to say that I do. Sorry.

get off your high horse and get a life

i have been a paid up tiger member for over 20 yrs!

and i wish all harm on duds like tivendale!!! its guys like him who should have had knees gone and not guys like draga!!!

thank god fiona is gone now, otherwise him hitting a bus would have been ok!

players like tivendale and many other duds, fleming, houlihan, billy nichols etc etc etc

WERE NEVER WORTHY OF WEARING OUR JUMPER!!!

somebody please ban this tool. Scares me to think people like you may make up the 20 odd thousand of those signed up. You're a poor excuse for a supporter.

Umm no

I hate every player we pick up at pick 3 who cant manage to bulk up or play any where near as well as the person selected after them or play any where near as well as anyone selected in that draft full stop.

I dont think that the selectors are at fault because it was Fiora who could never play well consistently for us, and never put on any weight in 75 games for our club.

Fiora may have bulked up a little at the Saints but he really hasn't improved as a player. His ability clearly does not warrant being selected at number 3. It was a misjudgement by the recruiting department. It was not Fiora's fault that they judged him too highly.

so because you pay money to watch someone then you own the right to wish them an injury? get a grip on reality mate.

Why does everyone hate the champ?

Fiora was average...Barry Young average:o

Neither Banik or Lounder were poor picks (poor players- not poor picks).

Different era back then. Still had Metro zoning and under-19s teams. West Coast, Sydney and Brisbane had concessions in their home states. The best SA players were contracted and off limits.

The entire draft was basically Vic Country, Tasmania and SA players who were too young to have earned SANFL deals. By 1989 most of the good SA players weren't nominating so they'd be elligable for the Crows for the 1991 season.

Neither player was much good - but you can't draft someone who doesn't exist.

1987
1. Richard Lounder
2. Chris McDermott (SA, didn't play for Brisbane - rubbish pick)
3. Graham Wright (OK he was good)
4. Andrew Brockhurst
5. Michael QUirk
6. Andrew Rogers
7. Darren Davies
8. Darren Jones
9. Michael Murphy
10. Michael Parsons

(we got Benny Gale in this draft and were one of the winners in a big non-event)

1989
1. Anthony Banik
2. Matthew Croft
3. Jody Arnol
4. Peter Matera (off limits to us - we were broke and couldn't afford him)
5. Brad Rowe
6. Mark Brayshaw
7. Stephen Edgar
8. Brad Tunbridge
9. Dale Kickett
10. Darryl Groves

(got Wayne Campbell and Nathan Bower so did almost as well as anyone).
