No full forwardProblem will be that Eddie will re-sign Bucks before next season starts because he doesnt want his expiring contract to be a distraction for the team.
Wright is not the answerThere have been some head scratching decisions over the last few years that's for sure but I don't think we are out of the window yet. I am just as frustrated as everyone else but at the end of the day if we can add 2MP and Gunston to our list all of the sudden our forward line takes on a new dimension. There will be changes to our forward set up, there has to be, but if we get a good run with injury then we are still a chance

Whilst I agree with a lot of the decisions that need to be made - one thing you haven't factored in is the morale of the playing group. My optimism is over
Clubs self imploded and doesn't want to address the sloppy tasteless meal it offers
Doesn't have the balls
Sack Walsh
Sack Harvey
Clear Treloar
Show stepho and whe video of their half hearted efforts and offer them both retirement and or pay reductions
Resign pendels on minimum money as he's been well looked after
Use his extensive promo money on others
Rekin he's made enough surely and time for that heavily reduced contract
All the above should happen
None will
MoraleWhilst I agree with a lot of the decisions that need to be made - one thing you haven't factored in is the morale of the playing group.
All of these actions don't provide too much certainty or clarity for players. Effectively saying if you get sick/injured (Stevo/Treloar), bad luck we have games of footy to win. If you have been a loyal servant and one of our best players for the best part of a decade, the best we can do it offer you minimum chips and take away promo opportunities (Pendles)
That attitude might have worked in years gone by, but with the nature of society these days.
That's the playing group.
The hierarchy including coaches and assistant coaches shouldn't be offered the same leeway though, in fact they should be paid and rewarded based solely on games won and lost. I agree we need a broom through the coaching dept.
I know, I'm just hoping, but a big yes for cameronWright is not the answer
Another hack
Another list clogger
Brown will be too
Gunston just won their b&f ouch and will cost far too much in$ and trade
[PLAYERCARD]Tom McDonald[/PLAYERCARD] and Jaydon hunt. Step 1
Trade Treloar anywhere and draft
Trade Lynch and get Cameron west coast
My calls Walsh
What I'm saying is 2018 appears to be a outrider
Hell of a job by the coaching staff
Hell of a job
Not supported by list management
By recruitment
By tactical off the field intelligent planning
Then consider our injury prevention/rehabilitation history
To me that's all on Mr Walsh
Unfortunately you don't create a place that "Collingwood Tragic's" want to go to by pushing a broom through the playing department.Morale
Well we didn't worry about that in the past
Once it was unheard off for Collingwood tragics to play for other clubs
Since 2018
Hunt melbourne resigned
Lynch
Cameron
Petracca
All Collingwood tragics
All playing elsewhere
Meanwhile we have this
No leadership
A basket case
I'd go further if I may
Drastic times
Pendelbury minimal money 2 years then list management
Sidebottom trade
Thomas trade for
Treloar trade
Whe trade
Stepho trade
Beam's retire
Langdon retire
You don't play any more
Mayne whe ,Thomas ,stepho
Get rid of the deadwood
Recruit hungry hard players and go back to our roots
If bucks can't inspire aggressive play get burns
Im sure he is going to be a very good player for us but not sure where this is coming from. He's been tipped to go 15 -25 ranges fwiw.
Problem will be that Eddie will re-sign Bucks before next season starts because he doesnt want his expiring contract to be a distraction for the team.
I hear that we all have variations of opinions.
Have faith in the youth.
Trust blah blah, coz blah blah saved and served us so well over such a period of time.
Insanity.
Well, theatre will repeat the above if we accept it...
Some pretty handy players plucked in that 15-25 range over the last few drafts. Duursma, Rowbottom, Balta, Clark, Higgins, Starcevich, Allen.
I don’t see that as a positive.Positive out of that surely Bucks would have to go then
Then you're blindI don’t see that as a positive.
I’m not blind mate, just not the armchair expert you obviously are. Then you're blind
Lol ok what ever you say old sportI’m not blind mate, just not the armchair expert you obviously are.
And next yearIt can hardly be called an "outrider" when we went within a kick of getting into the GF the following year.
Why would you ever expect this to change? I have been waiting for ten years. It really is unbelievable. I am sure it will continue as history is an excellent teacher. Richmond, on the other hand, always have their best 22 up and running when the whips are cracking and will continue to do so given this has been happening for years. Even when they weren't contending they rarely had debilitating injuries to key players. There have been some head scratching decisions over the last few years that's for sure but I don't think we are out of the window yet. I am just as frustrated as everyone else but at the end of the day if we can add 2MP and Gunston to our list all of the sudden our forward line takes on a new dimension. There will be changes to our forward set up, there has to be, but if we get a good run with injury then we are still a chance
Nick Daicos is not playing for us next season. Agree with improvement in Josh and I would throw IQ in there too, but others like the Browns have been a bust, and our main forward in Cox will be 30 before the season starts next year. Future isn't exactly glowing. In fact its downright grim.I prefer to focus on the exciting and talented new players who will be playing for us next season.
Guys like Reef McInnes, who sounds like a world-beater. Guys like Daicos the younger, who likewise has a HUGE reputation and I suspect will be a ready-made rolled gold 1st XVIII player.
Not to mention the big improvers we already have on our list - eg [PLAYERCARD]Josh Daicos[/PLAYERCARD]: this guy is classy and came on in leaps and bounds last season, I'll be very interested in his progress next season.
There are plenty of other good news story players on our list too - eg [PLAYERCARD]Mason Cox[/PLAYERCARD], who appears to be over his eyesight worries and appears that the coaching he has recived about using his body in marking contests is starting to sink in. Jezza Howe back from injury and fit again! Can't wait!
It's not all doom and gloom.
Exactly rightI have lost faith in Buck's coaching. I think he's a lovely bloke, but his ability to waffle at press conferences has worn thin. His approach to footy is quite depressing. He can cite stats about how many times we play on but I will rely on my eyes. There were two games I recall where we just played on instinct and took the game on. Round one against the Dogs and the final against the Eagles. Everything else was a grinding bore-even the wins. It's a sad state of affairs when you are left frustrated when you win games of footy.
I know things a could be happening away from the prying eyes of the media with regard to recruiting, but I can only hope. The total absence of any player being even a remote chance of coming to our club just adds to the feeling that we are just treading water. People talk about Reef and he may well be a gun but Matt Rendell said this is the deepest draft he has seen with something for everyone. We may get one good player while Geelong and others look like getting multiple early picks in this talent rich draft.
And next year
And this year
Gws backwards
Us backwards
Swans backwards
North backwards
Adelaide backwards
Hawks backwards
Essendon backwards
All these teams are or will be past us next year
Port
Carlton
Melb
Suns
Lions
Cats
Eagles
Freo
Tigers
Dogs
Saints
So we're a 11 or 12 team
Going nowhere
We missed out on Lynch 2 flags
We've now missed. Cameron next 2
Which shows me we should have picked naughton as a start
We will never ever get a better opportunity
To fix this mess
We have a possible couple of free hits
We need to get into this and next years draft high to bring home the bacon
My plan
2020 draft
Two firsts and McInnes
2021
2 firsts and daicos
Start building for the future
The presents shot
And it's obvious
