I'm Optimist about never winning a Brownlow in the next 10 years. Our team is too stacked and there will be 10 players taking votes off each other for a very long time.
I reckon Murph and Sebba won't leave many 3 vote games for the other boys.

I'm optimistic that Murphy Reid gets 55 votes this year to win by 1 vote over Nick Daicos

After last night, I have more optimism

potentially a crap year for Bulldogs (Naughton and Lobb were tripe), Melbourne looks hopeless, Carlton are done, WCE are no threat, Norf are mehh, Richmond are rubbish

we should at least finish 8th :)
Eighth is so not optimistic FG.
"Freo will stun the comp with 100 pt winning GF margin!"
Now that's genuine optimism.

A 100 pt win would be so much fun!! Celebrations galore from the third term onwards.

Amazing news! Huge congrats. This is the best!

Congrats mate!
Thank you!!!

I was born 10 days before West Coast won their first premiership and my Dad still thinks I was the lucky charm (rest of my family were West Coast fans).

Hopefully I pass on those genes

Reid’s willingness to run and overlap should open up the ground this season. A player either has to adjust to him and open up the zone or he gets it and opens them up with his vision.

Young fit to start the season is vital. Could easily win the Norm Smith.

I can’t wait for the season to start. Round zero is still some BS!

I think Young has all the tools to perhaps stand out and be our best in most games. Big bodied mid, good kick and mark, dangerous around goals, But needs to stay on the park and probably at least one full season first to get more notice.

Still agree that you are most likely right.

After watching the first two games I think we can match it with Sydney or GC. If Jackson improves, Murphy improves, Bolton is fit and Young plays most games we can go with anyone.

Pearce is my worry - fitness through the season and his early game nerves. Cox is another worry - fitness. But was looking great prior to injury.

We should finish top four and aim for top two. We won 16 games last year and will be better this year. 17 wins will see us into second.

Fitness isn't a worry for me. Soft tissue is likely to happen preseason for all clubs. We have built these guys up in the gym it's gonna happen. They'll do lighter weights when the season starts. The heavy gym work just finished

After watching the boys lately, I’m officially all in. We showed last year we can go the distance, but the composure wasn’t always there. This year feels different.

The ball movement is faster, the fitness is elite, and seeing JT playing deeper is exactly what we’ve been crying out for. We’ve got a top 3 midfield in the comp and a forward line that can finally hurt teams on the scoreboard.

If we can shore up the wings, we aren't just making finals—we’re having a real crack at the flag

Its the single stupidest thing this administration has ever done. And the bar is so low it could break your ankles, so that's no mean feat.

The worst thing about round 0 this season is that for some completely contradictory reason to the original idea of all the Northern clubs have home games, the Pies are playing the saints in Melbourne! If you’re going to do that AwFL, why not have 8 Melbourne teams travel interstate and give all the interstate teams a home game?

Because they're not interested in equality and all those psychobabblistic sports-speak nonsenses, they're trying to line their pockets with the expansion of the sport by muscling in on areas of the country where other sports codes might dominate and affect their precious gates.

In their defence it is hard to market the game in the northern states while keeping Collingwood's travel to basically zero.

Yeah it is a disgrace. Having teams that haven't played play teams that have is also dumb.

Further to the above topic, I think with 23 round seasons it does make sense to have two proper byes at around 8 week and 16 weeks into the season, especially now “wildcard” has removed the pre finals bye for teams finishing 7-10.
Starting all team in “opening round” allows this to happen.
