Yum!! Nice work. I love rustling up a surprise meal from nothing.
Same. A 100km round trip to the supermarket encourages me to be creative!

I live a 5 min walk to a 24/7 servo, a 1-2min drive (in any direction just about) to supermarkets, greengrocers, butchers, bakeries, seafood etc etc...

I still somehow often find myself doing the same thing haha

Having a brother, his wife and my mum over for dinner tonight.

They're all saying they ate too much over Christmas so this is my "light" menu:

Nibblies: Pickled baby octopus and pickled mussels (I also have some Maggie Beer duck and orange pate but it doesn't really fit the theme so probably won't serve it)

Main: Atlantic salmon with a little butter, lemon and caper sauce served with my old faithful rocket, pear, walnut, blue cheese salad

Dessert: Pannacotta (made with low fat milk and cream) with raspberry, strawberry and blueberry salad

except caramel sauce instead of maple syrup

I may have been beer affected. I probably heard "low fat" when he was probably saying "that will go straight to your thighs"

If you don't eat lunch or dinner (pretzels don't count, they should, but they don't)... then you're allowed delicious sugary, lemony, bacony crepes I reckon.
Yeah i dont mind a simple crepe with fresh lemon juice and a pinch of raw sugar. easy and quick
