On the old footypedia forums we argued the toss over what counted. When time allows, those arguments should also be replicated here, for further assessment.

Latest Table :
No table was ever posted, only submissions. The closest was the following from rossfootball:
Since 1993 for example I believe the AFL leaders is 46 by Nathan Buckley Cwood v Freo 2001
Others in the 1993-2005 period who had games with 45 disposals were Greg Williams (twice), Barry Mitchell, Robert Harvey & Scott Camporeale

Closely followed by Todman reminding ross that some players have kicked almost that many goals in a match! :)

Was more content added to yuku after the final table update? - Yes

Original discussion : Footypedia Messageboard on Yuku Boards (lapsed)

- This documentation is replicated from old messageboards associated with the footypedia website. The website's back up, but I won't be supporting the messageboard system.
- This list may already be duplicated on Bigfooty, on this very forum. I'm just tranferring data. If there is a duplicate, add a link here and we can work on a process of integration.

I thought it would be beneficial to try listing all known instances of 50 or more. Found some of these with Google assistance.

This was from the day he kicked all 43 of the Tyers goals. How many behinds and out on the fulls he kicked is disputed. Many big papers around the country published a record of 43.6 from 51 shots, while the much closer Bairnsdale Advertiser recorded 43.12 from 55 shots.
Collingwood tried to get his services but he wound up training a bit with Fitzroy, but never started in the VFL. By 1953, he was playing at Orbost and leading the goalkicking tally with a more modest 70 goals.

According to the Mayne Football Club history book "The Tigers: From Glory to Heartbreak" Shaun Hart once had 55 possessions for his QAFL club but it is not stated what year this took place.

In the opening round of 1950, one unnamed Geelong player was supposed to have 61 kicks according to a Hawthorn official.

The Argus Monday April 24 , 1950 page 18, Hawthorn refuses to panic.

Yes, just that single reference...quite surprising that no other source on Trove newspapers repeats that claim.
A pity the Geelong Advertiser of that era is not on Trove.

The next week's VFL match programme doesn't comment on it either.

A footballer/YouTuber known as Prime Training, real name Thomas Baulch, claimed 81 disposals for Blighty against Katandra over the weekend. I thought he was exaggerating, but I watched the video and turns out he's definitely not lying. PremierData apparently confirmed it too.

I counted 22 in the first quarter, 17 in the second, 20 in the third, and 18 in the fourth, for a total of at least 77 (someone counted them in the comments and reached 77 as well). It's likely he did get 81 since the camera nearly missed a few of his touches. A lot of these came from kickouts and possession chains, plus he did say somewhere that kicking the ball high forces teammates to give it back to him. In any case, 81 (or at least 77) is a new verified record.

(also that means Blighty has both players in the top two of the list)
