Policies
On the old footypedia forums we argued the toss over what counted. When time allows, those arguments should also be replicated here, for further assessment.
Policy & relevant discussion not yet transferred

Latest Table :
Another one which had only got a tiny start. Here is a composite of the two submissions:
211cm - Aaron Sandilands - Fremantle (WA).
210cm - Matthew Burton - WAFL & AFL.
206cm - Dean Farnham - Central Districts (SA), Fitzroy (Vic) (6'9)

Was more content added to yuku after the final table update? - No

Original discussion : Footypedia Messageboard on Yuku Boards (lapsed)

- This documentation is replicated from old messageboards associated with the footypedia website. The website's back up, but I won't be supporting the messageboard system.
- This list may already be duplicated on Bigfooty, on this very forum. I'm just tranferring data. If there is a duplicate, add a link here and we can work on a process of integration.

I never expected vital statistics to become a part of the discussion, but it did!
Also, sorry, I don't watch AFL, don't know his first name of Sandilands.

First name is Aaron.

Also, as this player played in both the WAFL and the AFL, Matthew Burton played at 210cm.

John Ironmonger, a ruckman who played for the Sydney Swans in 1985-1987 and Fitzroy from 1988-1991 as well as winning the 1983 Sandover Medal for WAFL team East Perth was a giant of a man, standing 200 cm tall and weighing 118 kilograms.

In Round 13 1991, Ironmonger played for the Lions in a game against St Kilda in Hobart, with the Saints side containing the 162 cm, 68 kilogram Danny Craven. It would be interesting to see a photograph or footage from this game, with Ironmonger and Craven standing next to each other.

The ANFC Carnival programme for 1924 in Hobart lists height and weight for each player.
The South Australian team included L Mills - 6ft 7 ½ in which is about 202cm.

Here is an article about "Tiny" Mills published a couple of years later:

Anyone who has the book Our Great Game should check out the wonderful photo (on page 171) of "South Australia's Leonard Mills and an unknown Tasmania player after the two states played at Adelaide Oval, 1923."

Fiddian's Yarraville book (where eagles flew)
mentions a Bruce "the Frog" Riches playing for Yarraville in 1977
ex Thomson in the Geelong league
could be the son of Ted Riches (Geelong reserves) - both Timber cutters

3aw book list has a Yarraville player B.Riches 209cm tall (1982 - different playing date)
