I'm trying to figure out the best way (if there is one) to recover from a hit downstairs.

I was playing cricket last night (the indoor version), and was batting at the non-strikers end. My batting partner absolutely smashed a low full toss straight back into my nuts as I was backing up I(I wasn't waring a protector). I would have been five metres away from him when he belted this ball. I'm telling you, I've copped it there before, but never like this. Literally couldn't breathe for a couple of minutes, and for 30 minutes after the hit, my hands and legs went numb (a pins and needles feeling) and I couldn't move them properly. Had to go to hospital after the game to get it all checked out.

I thought I had copped it bad there before, but this was sickening.

Has anyone else copped a really, really bad hit there? And if so, what did you do? I'm swollen up like a friggin tennis ball.

There is no way to recover. Just be very gentle down there for a few days.

I actually blacked out after being kicked there playing footy once. Talk about pain!!! Not good when youre 13!

Ouch. Why weren't you wearing a protector? Bowling not so volatile in indoor?

I've never worn one in indoor. The ball is a little softer, but a brand new one is still pretty hard. We play A-grade so the ball flys around quickly. Probably gonna wear one from now on, but I've played for 16 years and never had a problem.

No, but if it continues to be swollen and painful then go to the doctors straight away as you could have a testicular torsion (basically a twisted nut) and if you don't get it fixed not only is it extremely paniful but can result in losing it.

Statistically speaking (becuase I know this will get through to you) 91% of these problems will be fixed by rest, However, if the testicles are already inflamed from a lack of use then in 14% of cases rubbing ointment will be required. A further 79% of men reported that swelling decreases if the injury is given a week of rest, while 100% of respondents believe that a quick return to play due to the flawed finals draw will mean a slower recovery time.
Close to 100% of readers of this thread's first thoughts reportedly were "I never knew Dan had any balls".

;)

Just rest and if pain persists see a doctor. Ironically I was hit in the nuts last night at cricket training - wicketkeeping, low throw, bad bounce.ughhh.

Also a couple of years ago I was taken to hospital in an ambualnce after i got kciked in the nads. Was carried off the field, couldn't walk, was inspected by seemingly every female doctor and nurse in the hospital and couldn't have sex for two weeks.

Most guys who've played cricket ond/or footy have had a bad blow to the nuts, as opposed to a good blow. :D .

Worst I got was when I was fielding at a silly point position, the batsmen played a strong squarish cut straight into my nuts, I went down in a screaming heap, and the ball stuck there coz my hands were going to the region to protect.

That was one major pi ssed off batsman, who said as he was departing, "hope you can't root for a month"

Dan, make sure you have follow visits to your doctor, a mate of mine was hit playing footy, he let things go thinking rest would cure all, it didn't, he ended up having both nuts removed

Try "deep heat" on your Nuts, Dan. Works for me every time.

lol, I don't think so.

That is definitely the worst thing u can do...lol

Also how many of us grabbed our nuts as soon as we read the first post. I know I did!

I know of two blokes that have lost nuts.
One lost his after his sack got caught on the spot where the umpires store their goal flags when he was sliding down a goal post.

Another actually lost a nut due to a footy injury.
His nickname soon became, in typical footy club fashion, Nicky Onenut.

Oh man. Dan, I feel your pain. I've been kicked so hard in the boys, I've had sperm fly out my nose. The only cure I know of is time. Keep an eye on them (I fondle mine constantly while searching for suspicious lumps and so forth). If the swelling doesn't go down and your guys don't return to normal tennis ball size, go back to the doc.

Also, teach your girlfriend how to fondle them constantly while searching for suspicious lumps and so forth. While you are returning the favor with her breasts and cervix. Everyone should become involved with the fight against cancer.

Awhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, F**k I love belly laughs.

Must say though, having any part of the downstairs department caught in a zipper ain't funny either.

Even a simple accidental brushing of ones 'Cods' while getting change out of ones pocket is enough to get me squirming in pain.

Delicate little suckers arn't they fellas (ladies take note).

Peace,
Evan

Spent a few minutes inspecting the grass at close range, then walking with a limp after backing up a wayward infield throw that the keeper missed a few years ago.

F*&K a duck that hurt.

Having said all that, and while I share everyone's pain, this would have to go down as the "Gold" thread of the year.

It is as funny as it is painful.

Never had a serious injury with my clangers, however, I could imagine the pain. I was playing soccer the other day, and the ball rocketed at my knockers, and that hurt a fair bit ... But a smaller and heavier object ..... YAWOUCH!!!

Hope you have a nice recovery though, Dan.
Good idea to buy some protection pads :)

A friend of mine's losing one to cancer next Wednesday and will not know until afterwards if that is the end of it.

So if the worst you have is a bit of soreness and a funny walk for a few days I wouldn't complain.

i see that none of the girls r touching this one with a 10 foot pole hehe.

That's no good 2 hear Dan maybe u should get some of your little sisters mates to fix em up a bit for ya ;) But in all seriousness u should go to the doctor coz maybe there is damage and u wont be able to have kids or somethin :( I kno doctors can sh1t u up the wall but if u go to a real sexy blonde one or something surely it can't be that bad havin her feel u up :p
