Ryder has touched us up a couple of times playing ruck but Lobbe will still retain the no. 1 spot.
I only posed the Lobbe relegation hypothetical due to the "second big fish" being spoken about.

What if we do get a Sam Day too ?

Just post season / silly season smack talk.

NUFC, YES.

If we were ever going to pull the trigger on him it'd be about now. Extended his contract to EO2016 earlier this year but has stalled somewhat with Tom Lynch rocketing past him up front and Zac Smith and Charlie Dixon much superior ruck-forwards.

Could do with a change of scenery and the opportunity to supersede Schulz.

Aaron Young is being sought out by a few clubs.

Might net Port a draft pick which could be on-traded for somebody else?
I expected this domino to fall. In a perfect world we'd keep him, but he is exactly the kind of player you lose (and sustain) when you become a top 4 type side.

Probably has more value than Newton as well. The perfect way for it to fall out would be to get a nice return on Youngy that we can roll up into something larger, retain Newton's upside and have him take Young's minutes. Would not begrudge him going some where for more opportunity, would clearly add something to a team offering more time on the ground.

Personally think out of the Moore/Newton/Young trio, Moore has the biggest gap between perceived and actual value. Former pick 9 and all that. If one were to leave for better opportunities, he'd probably garner the best deal. That said, it would probably come down to who jumps first. I feel that our depth can sustain it, and Brendon Ah Chee will become the next player in this bracket.

Would Melbourne be one?
Would Trengrove or Toumpus as possible trades from Melbourne still be possible?
I know that Carlton are one of the clubs interested, but I'm unsure who the others are.

I suspect Melbourne would be one? given they need to add as much talent as possible to their 22.

Young for their second rounder?

We could potentially snag Makenzie for Young, I wouldn't be to upset if that was the case.

I could live with Geelongs 2nd rounder (32) + a swap of late picks in their favour but getting only 50 is pretty annoying.
7 News reporting Port's interest in Lowden.
Lowden looks ok and I'm not sure if there's even a choice to be had but wouldn't Gorringe be a better fit?

We can lose one but we can't lose two of Young Newton Moore.

Key midfield depth and Young is the best of the lot.
For me Young is a keeper. I don't believe he wants to be traded so I don't believe it will happen. Just because other clubs enquire and would like certain players doesn't mean a thing. Just like us enquiring about Day.
In regards to Newton, unless he wants a trade, what benefit is pick 50 really going to give us?
