lol the funny thing about that is if flynn isnt already a better kick than panos he isnt far off of it.

flynn has all the tools is just devoid of anything remotely resembling football instincts.

not to mention that maybe leg speed isnt an issue in the sanfl , where the gowan brothers who are slower than my grandpa barely ever got run down , but it is a difference maker in the afl.

You wanna test Jackson's loyalty? By all means go ahead and trade Carlile. That and the fact he's our best tall defender.

of course im not out to "TEST JACKSONS LOYALTY" the whole group is tight m8,does that mean no-one can be talked about in a possible trade on bf, and i reckon jackson and hombsch are as good or better defenders than him anyway {or about to become} was more a point about value.

almost impossible to see a way we could do it. ive tried and this is the closest i could come up with and i reckon at least 2 parties flat out say no to this deal. and in this would be giving up oshea who i love. not to mention hard to do the ryder deal as well.

saints - pick 4 , jacksch , o'shea
lose - pick 1 , pick 21 , 3rd round

port - cameron , stk 3rd round
lose - young , oshea , 16 ,

pies - young, 16 , leunburger pick (15-25)

gws - pick 1 ,pick 21
lose - cameron ,

bris - beams
lose - pick 4 , leunburger

vic team - leunburger
lose - pick 15-25

I don't care how much love there is for O'shea we would do that in a heart beat. The other teams on the other hand... Hell no

^ that would sit very nicely with the saints , gws get pick 1 and 21 for cameron might be considered a good deal if they thought him leaving next year maybe leaves less hope for as good a deal.

pies get young and two picks in the late teens for beams would be the sticking point. that seems like something that wouldnt pass.

would leave us with clurey + 2nd round to trade for ryder. so we would have gutted a fair chunk of our team but have brought in 2 very good pieces.

Not prepared to offer anyone better in our team than Moore + Our late 1st rounder.

We will get Ryder and we should be in good stead for a flag tilt.
Not sure what Ryder has to do with it. My point was that if we were trying get Cameron (and let's be honest, he would be a great get) it would take a lot more than what you suggested.

I would trade anyone not named Gray, Boak, Hartlett, Trengove, Wines or Wingard for Cameron.
People know I've put forward names to trade, this has been primarily when we haven't been performing.

Now we are performing it's a different ball game. We are dealing with a very, very tight nit group here and successful teams don't trade our key players when morale and performance is high. It needs to be done fringe players and picks r mostly likely not at all.

Using Bobby as reference, like finbarr highlight would test us out with Jackson, they are clearly good mates and next contract Jackson may choose the might $ over a club when they club is willing to trade key players away.

Even though I can see an argument for the up trade of Bobby, Young and a pick for Cameron, it could have major issue's for our team. Much different to a player looking to seek new opportunities.

If you want our club to be full of mercenaries like the shitcampaigners over at AFC who may stay for the money and adulation but never bleed for the jumper, then you start entertaining trades for people who don't want to go like they did when trying to get Polec. If you want to betray the players who stuck fat with the club and signed on because they didn't want to be the ones who contributed toward the death of Port Adelaide in the AFL, then by all means break up the group.

Players should only leave for greater opportunity/contracts or because they cause discord within the playing group - not because we try to push them out the door for the next shiny thing. That's how a strong club culture is created.

Connected to Port, says Cameron has definitely had a fitness test/medical supervised by Burgess. Whether that was at Alberton or elsewhere (ie. Sydney) I don't know.

The above my be true, it may not be.

But if it is true, it's funny how everyone has already written off the possibility of us getting him, while we're giving him fitness tests, so obviously "some" at the club believe it is indeed possible.

I mean, maybe Burgess is doing fitness tests/medicals for the Crows, just to help them out.

Not when that group is what has galvanised this club and the instigator for where we are today.

Nothing lasts forever and I dare say they're all man enough to stay focused and move on if ONE of their mates happened to move to another club.
