Actually I'm a big fan of his and I'd be sorry to see him go. The issue is more we don't know quite how to use him. He's not quite tall enough to play as a KP back - and Brown is filling that role out nicely for us now - and he's coming up against some very stiff competition amongst our HBFs - Hurn, Waters if he gets fit, Yeo, Ellis.

I think that'd be close to a win-win trade. Seems to fit a need for you blokes, and we get a good pick.
Sorry mate I was talking about Priddis.

Not to COMPLETELY derail this port thread - issue with the eagles views on Priddis is that he's good, but he shouldn't be our best. When the others step up (Shuey, Gaff, Selwood), Priddis looks great because the pressure comes off.

Newton, trade
Oshea(apparently, recently bought a 1.6M house in Melbourne) want to Keep
Stewart trade
Hitchcock Delist (I've heard from someone who knows him, that he's a bit of a piss head, and has recently broken curfews)
Renouf Delist
Stevenson Delist

Maybe one of the rookies too. Not sure the minimum, I think its 4. We've already lost dom.
Nothing to flash on that list,i think we need to be more aggressive with our trading this year.
With our improved profile over the last couple of years we should be able to attract some reasonable name players to our club.
Be nice to get a Buddy type but not every club can do that,a couple of good solid KP players who are AFL ready and we would be right in it with the big boys.

OShea or Clurey are currency that land us a ruck. The Gold Coast board see defenders as a priority. If we look at players rather than picks it would be one of those.

Oh well. Lycett was a luxury (i still think he will be a gun) trade. I rated Redden higher than Lobbe a couple of years ago and don't see any need to change my mind if he can get his body right. Anyway. Next. I like Luke Lowden (23yo) and Jon Giles (26 yo) as physical backup ruck men who are capable of playing in a key position other than ruck. Lowden is out of contract and would be looking for a club to give him games and Giles hasn't played since round ten because GWS have Mumford. Both would be easy to lure with a decent three year contract and the prospect of games / success / and a solid contract. I think both clubs would be willing to trade. We then pick a young developmental ruck on the rookie list and the ruck problem is solved cheaply. The other option is the more far fetched combo deal. Let's say we deal for either Giles and Jaksch for a first rounder or Lowden and Tim O'Brien for a first rounder. List balance ok pick up a mid with our second round.:rainbow: The other option is say a third rounder for Lowden or Giles and a second rounder for Ben Griffiths or Membrey and then we get to keep our first rounder! So many choices, we just need to lock someone in.

Nah Collingwoods board aren't aren't too concerned about him leaving.... and would not mind getting hold of Clurey to replace him.

I heard the same story about Jeremy Cameron, as what was posted on here a few weeks ago from our Lions'supporting poster (I heard it yesterday from someone who works in Mt Gambier).

He does not like culture of GWS and not a fan of Sydney as a city. An SA club is a (the?) preferred destination.

I guess we already knew all that, but thought it was worth posting.

As to what we would need to give up to get him - as past together on here has shown - that really is the difficult part of the equation (not that the Crows would necessarily have any better trade bait than us....all the players GWS would want are ones they wouldnt trade....although if Dangerfield did leave, I could foresee a multi-club deal that would see JC moving to the Cows.

with Lycett likely gone Jonathon Giles looks like a fit, short term fit with his age? but being at Port before he knows the boys, knows the system at the club, no settling into the state issues, has height, bulk, can take a mark and rest up forward, under Kenny's confidence building and Burgo's fitness regime I think with a re-go at Port Jonathon Giles could be very handy

Is 27 next year so he could be on our list for 3+ years if he chooses to come back.
